SummaryThe world has changed. The only habitable place left for humanity is in the high mountains, above 8000 feet. Go below 8000 feet, and waiting for you are the very creatures that killed 95% of the human population less than three years ago. But what happens if -- to save the life of his young son -- a father (Anthony Mackie) is forced to do just th... Read More

There are exactly enough thrills to fill a 90-minute movie, including the closing credits. No more and no less. So thank god 'Elevation' is short or it probably would have stunk.

While "Elevation" may never rise above its genre trappings or escape the shadow of its influences, it never stoops so low as to be mindlessly vapid. Simply executed at ninety minutes, it's escapism of the highest order, offering perils at a screen's distance of safety.

The movie was really good. I love the twist at the end. The movie really leans you in to wanting to figure out what the creatures are and if they can be stopped. The movie has a lot of deep underlying meanings. I would recommend this movie. Love the refreshing concept

Much better than expected. You wouldn't think you could do much with a story about creatures who can't get you at high altitude, but they make it work in interesting ways, and create good, tense action sequences to boot. The production and cast aren't bad either, and while I'm sure this was a lower budget film, it really seems like it and punches above it's weight as a sci-fi thriller.

It’s a reasonably taut post-apocalyptic survival tale that makes up for a lack of original ideas with tight pacing and solid craftsmanship.

Elevation comes across as a mild copycat rather than a compelling project that stands on its own merits.

Elevation is a thin story with every trope and stereotype you've seen from better monster movies

Directed by George Nolfi (“The Adjustment Bureau”), Elevation is distinctive not for its innovations in form or narrative — it’s got nothing new to offer — but for the anxieties and attitudes it telegraphs.

None of the actors do much with the uninspired material, but perhaps Baccarin is the most enjoyable to watch as she grumbles in monotone about how she wants to kill herself and handily espouses monster factoids from her diligent research as a former Caltech professor.

I really like this movie! It was one of the more “intelligent” monster movies I have seen in a while. The actors were excellent, and I felt they helped elevate the movie. The plot was interesting to me and my friend, we cared about the three main characters as they set out on their quest to find medicine for one’s son and to find a way to defeat the monsters. Indestructible apex predators that emerged from the ground three years ago, and decimated 95% of the planet’s population. The monsters were not schlocky in my opinion. The movie’s title comes from the fact that the monsters cannot survive above 8,000 feet of elevation. I would recommend it.

It reminded me of "A Quiet Place" meets "The Last of Us". Overall good movie that had potential to be much better. They needed to spend a little more time and money, and this could have been really cool. It was better than "Sinners" that I watched the same day though.

A decent enough film with some solid acting and lovely setting. The monsters however are uninspiring and quite childish. It's almost as if it was meant to be a kids series, but they made a film instead. That said, I kind of liked it and would watch it again.

(Mauro Lanari) Another copy-paste of countless other movies. Why doesn't Nolfi go back to adapting a Dìck short story like he did in 2011?

Unvetted garbage. In the first scenes they load the single bullet in the magazine BACKWARDS. They actually show ALL of this mistake in detail. The kid can't seem to breath but can RUN. They have primitive equipment and supplies yet have advanced oxygen systems for the kid. This movie was not reviewed prior to release by anyone with any intelligence whatsoever. Its basic woke Hollywood garbage made by clueless people that have never been in the woods and who live in condos in LA. Saying this movie only **** is being generous. Bad acting, bad directing, dumb story.
