while difficult at the beginning, it rewards patience and curiosity with it's various combos, and strategies

A konami poderia fazer mais jogos nesse estilo, imagine como seria um jogo assim com a quantidade de cartas que existem hoje

Incredible game, sadly the critics robbed this gem from getting a great score. This is easily one of the best ps2 games ever made. The gameplay is different to your typical Yu-Gi-Oh game since it's like chess but don't worry, it's nowhere near as complex as chess, it's very enjoyable and easy to understand. The game has 850 cards total which is actually insane and every card comes with its own 3d model in the ingame library. Lastly, It has absolutely phenominal music that you will never forget. If you're a fan of Yu-Gi-Oh and you haven't played it yet, grab a drink, some snacks and let yourself be immersed in this amazing game, it'll be well worth your time.

Melhor jogo de Yu-Gi-Oh que já foi feito fico triste porque ele não teve uma continuação foi um dos jogos que mais joguei no meu PS2 desbloqueado e hoje ainda jogo pelo o emulador de PS2 do PC

My favorite game of yu gi oh, the sountrack is incredible and its gameplay once you get the hang of it can be very addictive, not to mention that the graphics are too good for the ps2. Being objective this game is well done, the only bad thing I see is that if you don't like the gameplay, you just won't like it. It's one of those games that you either love it or hate it

Every so often I go back to play this game. It was quite unique in that it still used the card system compared to coliseum. There was a lot of customization to get if you actually played through the game, as cards were rewarded to you in a slot-machine style prize system. Which meant you had to grind at times and play certain opponents over and over in hopes of getting say a Red Eyes Black Dragon. The starter decks were ok, but the best one in my experience was the winged-beast with birdface leading the way.

-Incomplete game tutorial in my opinion, there's a lot that the game never bothers to explain to the player -The campaign is set up in a way that ignores difficulty, some early game duelists are way too powerful and some late game duelists are way too easy -The game should have consistent fusion rules and also inform or have a way to keep track of fusions that the player has already discovered -Monster ranking system is FAR TOO SLOW, and general leader ability balancing issues -Terrain and Power Up advantages combined are a bit too much, general balancing issues Overall the game has a steep learning curve and it's mostly the game's fault for being vague, however the many different starter decks and ways that the game allows the player to grind for cards and create decks with unique strategies makes for a fun and very replayable game

This is Yu-Gi-Oh at its worst. Although it looks really good, unfortunately its game play is not as good.. it's easily a game you can skip . It has nothing to do with the normal yugioh card game. You place a monster and you try to move it in a field where if your monster has criteria met then it gets a power boost. Your goal is to make the enemies life points hit 0 by destroying their cards OR move your card near the enemies avatar.

Honestly i bought this only for the 3 official cards included with the game. It was a surprise the game is actually good. Best card game for the ps2.

The game is really very good. I played and re-played with several packs of cards and it is still very amusing, meantime it is really difficult to make a deck with all the cool cards of the anime, thanks to cursed roulette, and to leave the deck leader at his max potential (even with the best possible method, it is still extremely long and discouraging).

The more time and brain power you invest into this game, the more you will be rewarded when you discover the depth of this game. It's a flawed masterpiece.

the game is so **** unfair, the first few fights are so easy and you always **** win then when it gets to the third one (mai valentine) you just get **** **** over and over and over. they give you some hope and just wiggle the tip near your **** for a bit and you think the **** is over and you're about to get away and then they just shove it back in there and watch you cry like a little **** i hate this **** game

Game of my youth, still love it to this day. Looking back, it was a lot harder to me 9 years ago when I didn't know what the hell I was doing, ai could've used some work, but since it was released in 2003, i'll let it slide. GREAT GAME

Could be so much better if this "new" engine wasn't so boring, but if you're a die-hard fan of the series you'll enjoy it, just don't expect to love it.

At first to be completely honest i was a bit dissapointed when i saw this game wouldnt be playing like the card game, but rather it would be playing like a yugioh and chess hybrid, but once i got into the game, and got used to it, i really enjoyed this twist. it really freshens up the experience, and i found that it helps as well that the game has branching story lines, which helps with the longetivity, as well as the replayability. The graphics are good as well, nothing to rank home about, but certainly gets the job done rather quite nicely. I really enjoyed how they presented the story putting yugioh characters in the war of the roses. i really thought this was an inovative and interesting story and plot, and it really caught my interest. What truely amazed me with this game however, was the soundtrack. I honestly cant even describe, this games soundtrack is by far within my top 10 video game soundtracks of all time! The soundtrack is at times pumping, at times chilling, at times sad, it captures so many different elements. and some people might not hear it this way, but i personally love this soundtrack. it takes alot of the simple 8bit themes from dark duel stories as well, and revamps them with a fully orchestrated score. overall, i enjoy this game, it certainly isnt the best yugioh game, but i enjoy its new and refreshing twist on the card game, and i enjoy the interesting story, graphics, music, and overall presentation as well. if your a fan of yugioh, this is an interesting game to check out.

As a huge Yu-Gi-Oh! fan I was disappointed with this game, it's not like the dueling you see on the show, it's more like a mix of that and chess, the story isn't all that interesting, graphics are sub par, but voice acting is ok, one good thing is that it does require a large amount of strategy if you hope to win, if your a fan of card games you may like this but I just can't recommend this.
