Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.

I bought this expecting a modernized version and didn't even check reviews. This game is a disaster beyond belief. The "reforged" means they ruined the game and made it not functional. Especially multiplayer! It matches brand new players against experts constantly. There is no way to actually play properly or learn the game. Every match I am put up against people who have played HUNDREDS of times and are experts. It basically feels like Blizzard stole from me and I'm never buying one of their products ever again.

I am absoulte fun of the **** gives 2 for reason. The game in new version may suprise you very. E.g. today game refuse to give access to saves player stats etc ... even when **** agent works well. If you think about raise bug/error - that option is hidden or unavailable for the users who already paid for the game. Its only forum... which I guess is ignored or used only to troll users.

Excellence demands excellence and Blizzard could have honored its great heritage in a better way. It remains one of the cornerstones of the strategy market, as well as an exceptional experience for any self-respecting video game lover.

Warcraft 3 is such a powerful experience that simply outshines the many flaws of the Reforged operation. Some people wanted a complete remake, others called for #nochanges, and in the end we got the simplest remaster. But it still remains the remastered version of a masterpiece.

Please note that Patch 2.03 from July 2025 really changed this game. I only play the campaign, but from what I’ve seen on YouTube, the multiplayer is also playable. The graphics are great, and I haven’t experienced any glitches. I was in love with Warcraft 3 back in 2002, and now it’s finally back — and finally playable. Have fun!

Warcraft III: Reforged teaches the harsh lesson that sacred, legendary titles need to be revisited with only the utmost care. Core elements that made the original an absolute Earth-shaker still remain, but as a remaster meant to enhance the original experience, Reforged is greatly flawed.

The initial plans for Warcraft 3: Reforged would have brought the community an ambitious new game, steeped in the classic gameplay and story of TFT & RoC. However, little by little the team started scaling back, starting with the story. Unfortunately, the finished product ended up being not much of an upgrade over the classic version of the game.

While Warcraft 3 is still a phenomenal game to play today, Reforged is unfortunately a chaotic storm of failed promises, technical bugs and missed opportunities that makes a great game worse.

It was a dream for many RTS players to enjoy Warcraft 3 with modern graphics. And it seems, it will stay as a dream.

There’s nothing in Reforged that keeps me hooked in. I was sad playing it. Sad that it ultimately failed. That there are so many things that could have been done better – boldly and with more polish. [03/2020, p.48]

The game is finally getting better and devs started to do something. Certainly not a 10, but the current score doesn't make sense.

I didn't hate it like everyone else hates it, but it's very frustrating that the developers didn't bring any of the innovations they promised. They only changed the graphics, otherwise it was almost the same. It was nice to play this legendary game again with slightly more updated graphics, but the only reason I gave it such a high score is because the new version carries some of the awesomeness of the original game.

Друзья, прошло очень много времени с момента релиза и когда игра только вышла, я был полностью согласен с оценкой. Но время идет, Метелица выпускает все новые патчи, а игра преображается и действительно становится лучше. На данный момент она очень сильно отличается от того, что было на релизе и хотя она не стала на 10 баллов, но и 0.6 она уже не заслуживает, в данный момент игра на твердые 5-6 баллов. И она заслуживает того, что бы дать ей еще один шанс.

My disappointment is so massive I made a metacritic account just to review this. This must border on criminal with what they’ve sold to us compared to what was promised. Their silence on it is deafening. Get your refunds whilst you can because this is another Blizzard **** Dear lord, what a sad little game, Blizzard. You ruined a 17 year old game completely so you could have the money and I hope now you can spend it on getting proper developers and doing some market research. Because you have all the grace of a reversing dump truck without any tyres on. So Blizzard return my money and get out of the market. You’re done. RIP Blizzard

So many years after release, still barely functional game. Most people just use old graphics too. Old Blizzard is dead and gone. Been playing WC3 since it came out and since Reforged arrived it's the least I've ever played. Shame.
