Ufouria: The Saga 2
For a kid's game, Ufouria: The Saga 2 is certainly going to capture the imaginations of its target audience. Fans of the original Ufouria are likely in their late 30s to early 40s and will likely find this to be a very safe and by-the-numbers languid platformer. Anyone who enjoys the likes of Kirby will feel right at home with this surreal and charming Metroidvania, but those that have grown tired of the genre will be better off looking elsewhere for thrills.
It's been a long while between Ufouria games. Even If you haven't played the original, The Saga 2 is a fun time. The cute art style combined with some old-fashioned platforming and charming and funny interactions between the cast of Mr Hebe and his friends makes for a good playthrough. While the pace can be off at times, and the last few areas of the game lead to a little too much backtracking, overall, it doesn't keep it from being an enjoyable platformer that will leave you with a smile.
Ufouria: The Saga 2 is a fun platformer full of cuteness and quirkiness. The colors and music pop, and the platforming is simple yet solid, though the adventure could be considered too easy for veterans.

Ufouria The Saga 2 is a fun and cute game that pays homage to the 1991 classic and brings new features. The sequel has charming visuals, clever humor, a generous economy system, and a world that changes with each visit. The game also has some flaws, such as annoying music, a repetitive character addition process, a simplistic platform and the lack of a cooperative mode that would elevate the experience as a whole. However, these negative points do not take away from the charm and fun here. Ufouria The Saga 2 is a product worth checking out, especially if you like Yoshi games or Metroidvania-style adventures – but with a simplistic platform.

Ufouria 2 is a perfect example of "short and sweet". It takes about 3 hours to run through at most, but it's generally a fun time. There's nothing hard about this game, even the final boss takes all of 2 minutes to beat. It's biggest weaknesses lie in it's short length, incredibly low difficulty and underwhelming finale. Ufouria does have a handful of glitches to worry about. Most aren't game breaking, but I did find myself softlocked after only 40 minutes or so of playing! Overall, Ufouria 2 is a simple, inoffensive platformer that fans of the genre will enjoy, but it's fans of the Hebereke series who will get the most out of the short romp.

It’s amazing that Sunsoft revisited Ufouria after multiple decades, especially because Ufouria: The Saga 2 feels like a full realization of the endearing game. It won’t take you more than a few hours to save the day, but it stays fresh throughout that play time whether you’re a newcomer to games or a well-worn Metroidvania veteran. I hope this isn’t the last time we see Hebe and his friends.

Ufouria: The Saga 2 is one of the most immediately charming and consistently interesting exploration games I’ve ever played.

The game genuinely does a good job of following up on the original, and given the circumstances I think that’s actually quite amazing. If you have happy memories of Ufouria or are just looking to get into the series fresh, I think you’ll have a nice time with this one.

If you’re a fan of ’90s action platform games, there’s something mildly magical about this. Ufouria 2’s sunny world of papercraft and textile-built apparatus is endearing and fun. Its playfulness and zanier elements more recall the era of the Super Nintendo than the NES, and its laid-back approach to linear Metroid-style adventuring is plainly fun. It doesn’t ask much from you except to enjoy a little exploration, a very moderate amount of backtracking through very short zones, and an undemanding task of coin collecting as you go. But its reward cycle has an addictive quality, if little else. It’s not going to fulfil everyone’s desires, and its ease might feel underwhelming to some, but those looking for a new adventure in a very 16-bit fashion will feel well served.

Ufouria: The Saga 2 leaves you with mixed feelings, even if you can get something out of the cute felt graphics and nostalgic fans will certainly get their money's worth, the game does have some negative points. Unfortunately, the music is absolutely annoying and for inexperienced jump and run players, the game experience quickly becomes repetitive and frustrating. It is therefore only recommended for experienced or very patient players.
