Compared to the first part, it looks very crooked and uninteresting. The gameplay mechanics are just not good.

It's sad to see that this game doesn't do much to improve itself on the original, and would rather just try new things before addressing its already present issues. Tomato Way 2 despite having some greatly improved visuals and animation, is buggier and arguably far worse than the original. The game begins by having an open-world structure at first, but then becomes linear after that area is complete. This open-world is filled with annoying enemies which don't vary at all, and just get in your way. They're not fun to fight, and you will avoid them almost all of the time as it is far more efficient than actually fighting them. The combat is overly simplistic and lacks any interesting mechanics, you mostly just trade hits with the same attacks over and over again. The biggest change is that the game is now third-person instead of first-person. This doesn't do much to actually change gameplay, as you have largely the same attacks and movement options as the first game. All it does is make the camera get ed up when you're in tight spaces or trying to find your way around the darker parts of the game. You will spend most of the game running around aimlessly, hoping that you can find the next cut-scene, because they're pretty much the only interesting thing in the game. The games structure is far more open-ended unlike the first game which is more linear. This means you spend more time in gameplay rather than cut-scenes - the cut-scenes however are the best parts about these games, and it baffles me as to why the developer(s?) would rather focus on gameplay instead despite making no improvements since the original. In between these cut-scenes are drab environments, dull combat encounters, confusing level layouts and annoying enemies. The game is extremely buggy, and lacks any polish at all. This is something I was hoping would be addressed in the sequel, but alas it has instead been left untouched. Overall, Tomato Way 2 is worse than the first game in the series not only because it has the same flaws as the first game, but also because it doesn't address these issues before trying to tackle more ambitious goals, which in turn just leads to more problems.
