It may not be anything particularly extraordinary or hardcore, but Starnia is an entertaining shooting package that succeeds at providing a uniquely fresh shooting experience. It offers an interesting mix of traditional shmup conventions and modern game design innovations.

Strania might not be the shoot'em up of the century, but G.rev took the job seriously to please both casual and hardcore gamers, especially at this price point.

This downloadable shoot-'em-up boasts plenty of explosive arcade-style combat, but frustrating boss battles and frantic on-screen action mean it might be better reserved for genre diehards.

Strania has its hands deep in the ashes of fourth generation consoles – it feels warm and welcoming but lacks the innovation and punch of current titles, and by aiming for a core fan-base alienates itself from the wider audience.

A nostalgic old school effort from developer G.rev. Nice graphic for a Live Arcade title, but this little shooter is rather short and pretty hard to beat.
