SPYxANYA: Operation Memories is a diary-worthy game with its adorable world and laid back gameplay that never takes itself seriously.

Spy x Anya: Operation Memories is a charming and engaging family game that captures the heartwarming spirit of the beloved anime series. With its photo-based gameplay, fans can enjoy adorable scenes and interactions with the Forger family, making it a delightful experience for gamers of all ages.

SPYxANYA: Operation Memories is a short-term very cute activity for fans of anime with children, which unfortunately mainly suffers from the repetitive gameplay and lack of story.

If you know the series, then you will be able to have fun with this game despite it being separate from the larger storyline. If you are not familiar with it, then you will not understand much of it because the story will be impossible to follow. Although the game has some nice mini-games to offer and is graphically neat, it is somewhat repetitive and too limited. Nice for fans, but not an outlier.

SPYxANYA: Operation Memories leaned heavy into Anya’s cuteness, the minigames were pretty detailed but everything else was monotonous.

SPY×ANYA: Operation Memories is a pleasant game that is soon punished by its lack of freedom and repetitive pace. Although the mini-games and the outfits available for the characters stand out, there is a lot of padding in it, so it is advisable to play it in small doses to better savor this adventure starring Anya.

SPYxANYA: Operation Memories is aimed at anime enthusiasts, but it has a catch. The mini-games are the greatest feature of the package; the photography mechanics were pointless. It will get monotonous after a few hours and hardly touch on subjects from the original work.

You’ll probably get something out of Spy x Anya if you’re a massive fan of the show, but even if you're fairly enthusiastic about it like myself, you’ll find it lacking. It’s extremely faithful to the show in both humor and aesthetic, but it requires a prohibitively high tolerance for repetitiveness. There’s fun to be had, but it’s locked behind hours of taking photos, lackluster conversations, and repetitive busywork. It’s nowhere near the quality of a must-play title for a Spy x Family fan, and you can probably get as much satisfaction from rewatching the show.

But if you love Spy x Family, there’s still plenty to enjoy here. Exploring the Forger household, small as it may be, is unquestionably fun – and Anya is as expressive and amusing as ever, resulting in regular laugh-out-loud moments. It’s not a bad game, then – in fact, it’s something a little different in the licensed anime category. But it could have benefitted from a bit more variety.
