The fantasy adventures of Sorcery! come to an end with the fourth and last chapter, which is perhaps the best of the series for writing quality and settings charm.

The best of a brilliant series and a must-have classic. This is mobile immersion perfected. [Nov 2016, p.81]

In contrast to the sometimes boring statics of Japanese visual novels inkle Studios show how lively “interactive digital stories” can be. A fitting conclusion to an exceptional saga.

I actually never played any of the games before this one, but I really liked it. I don't want to go into details and spoil it, but I really like the challenge of it, yes it can be repetitive when yo look at the bare bones (keep on failing) but if your good, then it is good! Plus Pocket Gamer are giving it away for free!!!

I really enjoyed Sorcery! 1-3. As a fan of the original book series, I felt that. despite some changes, the writing was respectful of the source material. However the decision to remove the rewind function has left this game unplayable. With a number of instakill events and a tedious addition section with towers it just ends up being repetitive and boring.

When you do eventually reach its conclusion, you’re going to feel a little bittersweet about the whole thing. Fortunately, Sorcery! 4 offers more than enough different paths to pursue, giving you plenty of reason to start over again. There’s also that delightful sense of satisfaction in knowing that you’ve played through one of the finest narrative experiences of gaming in recent years. And I don’t just mean mobile gaming, either.

Sorcery! 4 brings the series to an excellent close. As far as I'm concerned, it's a better finish than the actual books got, and I'm impressed with the sheer number of options the player is given for reaching their goal.

A fitting and fantastic end to one of the best gamebook adventures on mobile. Make sure you pick it up.

If you’ve played through the previous installments, picking up the fourth is a no-brainer. You’ll bump into characters you’ve met along your journey and use items you nabbed way back in the Shamutanti Hills. If you’re a newbie, it’s still worth the price of admission, but I would recommend picking up the entire series and starting from scratch to get the most out of it. Otherwise, it’s a bit like reading about the Battle of the Pelennor Fields without having sat through the Council of Elrond (spoilers?).
