It's not a great port and we'd have liked more content, but the quality gameplay shines through.

Despite a bad sound effect here and a dropped frame there, this is still Sonic the Hedgehog at his old fashioned finest.

It serves up a brilliant dose of retro platform action in not just one but four classic games, all of which seem like a perfect fit for the Nintendo DS.

A bit more bang for your buck would have been great, but retro gaming still doesn't get much better than this.

Sonic's first iterations are just as fun as they ever were. But we've played them many times already, and in many different platforms. DS users who never played any of these games can enjoy it, but if you have any other version, there is nothing new except a bunch of roms emulated.

Worth for those that want to remember the classics or for those that don't know them.

It is a pity Sega hasn't added any new feature, like extras or additional modes to encourage the player.

Sonic Classic Collection is a good, but flawed compilation for the Nintendo DS that just screams "small budget, short development cycle!" It is what it is: four great Sonic games accurately ported to a half-assed compilation.
