A true high-score chasing masterpiece in every sense of the word, Sektori is an unmissable addition to the Switch 2 library and an experience that I plan to stretch out for the rest of 2026 and beyond.

This is one of those games where the leaderboard dominates the experience, and Sektori’s scoring is complex and nuanced enough to reward true expertise in play. Whatever position you earn on that leaderboard is entirely earned. In my case it’s a very low place indeed, but I can’t stop playing and trying to beat my own score, let alone anyone else’s. I might never reach the top of Sektori’s leaderboard, but I can recognise the utter design brilliance that has gone into making this game. I can’t believe that so many people are overlooking this thing.

A successor to the legacy of Geometry Wars has arrived, and it’s here to kick your ass while looking and sounding great doing it.

Sektori is, without a doubt, one of the best shoot ‘em ups to drop in years. While it stands on the shoulders of giants, it brings enough to the table to prove its worth. Beautiful in its simplicity and addictive in action, you’ll constantly have to fight that “one more run” feeling to get anything done once you start playing. Everyone should give Sektori a try.

Sektori is a triumph. Blending the core gameplay of Geometry Wars with several engaging new mechanics makes this one of the most satisfying and addictive games I've ever played. It boasts immaculate presentation with gorgeous visuals, a thumping soundtrack, and rock-solid 60fps gameplay. Some of the new mechanics may take some getting used to, and Sektori could do a better job at explaining them. Once you've got your head around all of it, though, it's impossible to put down. As far as twin-stick shooters go, Geometry Wars has been dethroned – there's a new king in town.

Sektori is a brilliant twin-stick shooter with an incredible soundtrack and one that is a perfect fit for handheld play on Nintendo Switch 2. If you skipped it before or simply want to play it on the go, it is more than worth the asking price. Just be prepared for a great challenge throughout.

Sektori offers excellent value for money thanks to its strong replayability and variety of modes. Its addictive “one more run” approach to gameplay means you will accidentally lose hours chasing a higher score, climbing the leaderboards, or experimenting with new upgrade combinations, while the thumping techno soundtrack perfectly complements the chaotic visuals and fast-paced action. For me, Sektori was a wonderful surprise that took me back to the days of booting up Geometry Wars at the start of a Project Gotham Racing session, and even after countless failed runs, I still found myself diving straight back in for more. If you’re looking for a stylish twin-stick shooter with fantastic replay value and an incredible soundtrack, Sektori is absolutely worth turning the volume up for.

Sektori captures the rush of classic twin-stick shooters while adding enough customization and clever mechanics to keep every run exciting. Tough boss fights occasionally spike the difficulty, but the game’s silky-smooth Switch 2 performance and wealth of playmodes make it hard to put down.
