Unfortunately we weren't completely convinced by the game's pace and the design choices. If you like spaceships and are not scared of dead moments, you could find something to love in RymdResa.

RymdResa is quite interesting 2D "space exploration" game, that I would qualify as an artistic experience of a sort. While it's replayability is limited, I think that for indie-like game it is quite good and worth trying, just to see what creators have prepared for the players. It has a particular ambiance and gameplay is quite simple, typical for indie like games, yet effective. The low score of that game on metacritic is surely not earned.

RymdResa is a special roguelike in which you are humanity's last hope. You might not like the repetitiveness of the game, but they can bring you in a melancholic trance in which poetry is the higher power. Its minimalism is elegant, the storytelling is interesting and the surreal space experience makes RymdResa a moving piece of art.

Original gameplay, difficulty level and the atmosphere of loneliness create interesting and engaging roguelike game, which unfortunately is a little too irritating in the last chapter.

If you don’t bring a certain amount of serenity to the table, stay away from RymdResa. It will take you on a trip where the journey is the reward and patience is the key. Unfortunately story and gameplay mechanics stay superficial.

It’s pretty minimal in its design, difficult to get into, and a bit cumbersome to navigate. I’ll freely admit that, on my first few plays, I planned on giving it a pretty low score. As I played a bit more, though, it began to grow on me and the frustration faded as I learned pilot, manage resources, and make use of upgrades and consumables.

RymdResa is mostly soothing space roguelike game, but it has relatively small variety of environments and flat gameplay. A poetic effort remains halfway - equivalent rhymes you can find even on improvised evening of slam poetry.

With time and patches, this could be a must play, but as it is I can only cautiously recommend RymdResa as a game with fascinating ideas and inconsistent execution.
