This is what a video game should be like! Im enjoying combat , although clunky and bland at times but still enjoyable. The insane art and graphics and soundtrack are amazing. Im absolutely hooked into this game and the story **** & grandson duo, i don't think its been done before. Japanese developers are in a class of their own, the best .

So this was my very first Grasshopper Manufacture/Suda51 game and I knew to expect a bit of silliness. What I didn't expect was how insanely creative this game was going to be and how much I was going to enjoy it. What an absolute blast to play! Sure, the game doesn't take itself too seriously and neither should you. It's not perfect, but just strap yourself in and enjoy the ride. The story takes you on a wild trip through space and time with crazy, fun visuals and unique storytelling. The gameplay consist of satisfyingly crunchy hack 'n' slash combat, with varied weapons and abilities to use. Outside of combat you are playing unexplainably fun mini-games to upgrade your stats and gear, flying through space to collect resources and talking to your team on the spaceship. You can even cultivate/grow your own abilities, in the form of zombie allies (sounds weird but it works) and fuse them together for stronger ones, which added a nice tactical element to combat. Lastly, I have to mention how awesome the kick-ass soundtrack is! This was a really refreshing game to play and it has piqued my interest towards other Suda51 games. Maybe Lollipop Chainsaw next?

There's more going on to this game that I could ever really understand. Also, its got going for it what games nowadays seem to forget or get wrong. It doesn't take itself too seriously and most importantly it's FUN. I had a weird transcendental experience playing this one, also I got real familiar with my GPUs limitations but that's not the game's fault. But yeah its fun and the story isn't a total up-its-own-ass snooze-fest. The game mechanics aren't an absolute bore, they're simple n' fresh. The minigames weren't that tedious, they kinda hit the spot during an afternoon gaming sesh. why the 10? The characters feel meaningful in an otherworldly way and because this game will have an influence among its audience that will last for centuries... or not idk lol

Romeo is a deadman’s story is crazy as one would come expect, it’s enjoyable for the most part if not all over the place and a little confusing. However the game’s story does have some really interesting moments that I found very amusing. The presentation is a 10/10 like I don’t even have to go in detail, it’s fantastic and Romeo’s design is really cool and so is the final boss of the game. If there is one thing Suda shines at, it’s his presentation, enough said. However the gameplay is okay. The combat is a little clunky and downright miserable at times mostly when you are surrounded by a bunch of enemies all at once which the games does quite a bit especially in later segments. The level design is boring as hell, there isn’t much to write off on. I love Suda 51 games. I love that his games are just one big bag of an interactive mixed media art project, while not everything he does lands, this game being the exception I still found satisfaction in Romeo is a Deadman, it’s just not my favorite from Grasshopper Manufacture unfortunately. *Sidenote: it might’ve been patched out already by the time of writing this review but the audio on the ps5 version of the game **** so bad. Everything sounded compressed and running all on one track, it was very annoying and sometimes ruined the vibe when I was playing.

A unique game that definitely you will have fun with it. When you combine Modern Tech + Art + Retro you get Romeo Is A Dead Man.
Do not hesitate buying this game, totally worth it,

Romeo is a Dead Man is a game very peculiar, with a history a pretty unusual and bizarre but so fun and really can't be taken seriously. I found many mechanics so cool, like the way you can upgrade your specs like HP and velocity to recharge, on the other hand the how you unlock other guns for exemple, is too easy and the guns is so generic and whatever that you do, all weapons look like the same, the gameplay is very fun but extremely repetitive, the maps is pretty nice but nothing special so for me is a ok game, it's worth to playing if it's on sale

Rarely does a title manage to bridge the gap between modern complexity and the pure, transformative wonder of childhood gaming. This isn’t just a game; it is a meticulously crafted experience that stands as a definitive masterpiece in the current landscape. The brilliance of this title lies in its sophisticated "moving parts." For the player who appreciates technical depth and interconnected systems, the execution here is flawless. Every mechanic feels intentional, serving a greater purpose rather than adding clutter. When you marry this level of mechanical density with its stunning aesthetic direction, the result is something truly transcendent. It manages to be more than the sum of its features, offering an immersive atmosphere that stays with you long after the screen goes dark. Whether you are a veteran looking for substance or a newcomer seeking beauty, this is an essential experience.

The good: I like the characters, world and artistic features. The story was also pretty interesting. It's nice to see a game that tries something new. The bad. The combat system is so cheaply made. They even tried to implement some wannabe soulslike elements, but it doesn't work well at all because of the bad combat. Some sections like the asylum are extremely boring and tiring. Bosses are badly made annoying damage sponges. If you're not a Suda51 Glazer, wait for a sale.

Like all of Suda’s games it weird, violent, and over the top with a crazy story. Combat is fun and if you dig Xbox 360 gameplay you’ll love it.

If you're a fan of action games with a unique story, presented in a unique comical way, old movie references, themes about love and life, some of the best OSTs I've heard this year (check fused reanimated on YouTube).
This game checks all these boxes.
Gameplay is decently fun, rpg elements and upgrade systems are fairly unique and the story was catchy from the start.
Took me 10 hours to beat and it was well worth it.

I'm having a ton of fun with this game so far! The humor, music, style, references, and various gameplay mechanics are for themselves greatly done and are coming together very nice. I believe many people don't understand how fun the fighting system actually is and are giving therefore bad critics for it.
The depth and fun of the fighting system comes from using and chaining/combining all the diverse moves in a creatively-situationfitting way in order to create a fun playflow. If you don't, you get staggered much while stumbling through enemy(waves) and/or you stick by fighting extremely safe, what makes it a lame experience. In this game you don't have combo branches like Bayonetta/DMC, where you can mashingly perform cool combos. The fighting system is rewarding an adaptive and creative play style (the further you proceed), not buttonmashing. I have played so far until the "Child of God"-Chapter with aproximately 20h on hard mode. That's why I'll revisit my review when I'm finished.

Its an ok game i almost raged out and quit on the 5th stage worst map design i have ever seen in a game it was the only thing actually scary about the level if you know what im talking about. its only good for passing the time, weird game design trys to be quirky but its just awkward. still fun but nothing to brag about.

This is one of the most unique and fun action games I've played in a hot minute! Goichi Suda once again delivers an interesting tale that makes your head go many ways! It is definitely full of wacky characters. Very well crafted weapons. And of course. Very unique and familiar level designs. It is something that long time fans of Grasshopper Manufacture will love and understand. But if your someone unfamiliar with how this developer works. Then this game may not click for you. Which Is totally ok. But I still recommend at the very least giving it an hour or two. And see if you like it. That is my review of Romeo Is A Deadman.

Suda-51's brand of strange games won't appeal to everyone, and if you weren't on board with with his games beforehand, I admit Romeo is a Dead Man won't likely change your mind. But to those who enjoy his strange humour, stories, and gameplay, this will be right up your alley. Part hack and slash, and part third person shooter, but filled with a few minigames, Dead Man has plenty of variety and quirks to make it an interesting game. Add on a solid soundtrack, and it fires on all cylinders to make the game standout. The only real gripes I have is that there isn't a whole lot of replay value after beating the game, aside from restarting at a higher difficulty, but otherwise, I highly recommend Romeo is a Dead Man.

This game while intrigueing and intersting kinda feels like puke. Thereis colors and motion everywhere and it kinda makes me sick. Like the style is cool but It kinda jumps around and doesnt really know what it wants to be. It feels like a generic action game with this insane, ultra stylized skin on it. I know its based on something but after my playing for two hours I was kinda bored of the experience, it doesnt help that this game makes you do video game chores "grab three keys", "shot at the weak points" and "Turn on 3 generators". Like come on you want to be really creative and have a game look like THIS and yet still have us do what every other game makes us do? The game play itself gets kinda tiresome and the upgrade system doesn't make any sense, actually there is a lot of things that dont make sense in this game and you can tell they were actually going for that. IT reminded me of the movie "everything everywhere, all at once" (bad movie) , where nothing made sense and they just through every trope at the wall that they could.

Not everything in this game is perfect. The graphics are a bit lacking, the gameplay isn’t the most polished, and yet… Like all of the studio’s productions, these imperfections are overshadowed by an incredible art direction, an off-the-wall storyline, and an atmosphere you won’t find in any other game.

It's a SUDA51 game so you know what you are getting at Playing a SUDA51 game it's an experience it's like you just got a VHS of season 1 finale and starting season 2 of a show that a japanese kid and an american kid think each other watch during the summer in the 80s or 90s As usual there's multiple game genres inside and the humour it's on point

A love letter to video games. This action title is a joyful chaos, driven by a wildly imaginative art direction that won’t leave anyone indifferent.A brilliant blend of Back to the Future, Gundam, Rick and Morty, and the cinema of Takashi Miike.Thank you, Grasshopper Manufacture. Thank you, Suda.
