NASCAR 26 pulls off a difficult balancing act. It feels like a serious racing sim without alienating console players who just want to race. NASCAR 26 automates racing options and setups but allows you the leeway to micro-manage them. It is trying to satisfy casual console players and more demanding NASCAR fans at the same time. It performs well overall if you avoid going too deep into the underlying details that hardcore sim racers fuss about.

It's understandable that iRacing Studios wanted to play it safe with NASCAR 25 to eliminate any possible issues with racing, but they erred too much on the side of caution. The updated Career Mode is nice, but the lack of any online championship and really anything new online is disheartening. The changes to the racing aren't as major as one would think, but it still remains solid against the AI. Just don't expect anything extremely deep. There are surface level changes here, and the dynamic lighting will help shake things up for players with excellent-looking environments at times, but there just isn't enough here to build on as a sequel. The game is still fun, but so was the previous year's.

I've gotten this game on launch and let me tell you I was excited. This game overall is better compared to NASCAR 25. The driving was very good and I love it how they added Kyle Busch into the game since he passed away earlier this year. I also like the new tracks the chase mode is so cool this season there were several times where I lost it with the right AI difficulty it could be so much fun I can even say that it's a lot more better than the EA sports Chase for the cup that they did. I also enjoyed the career mode too yeah sure it's basically the same as 25 but for what it is it looks pretty good. You can also do burnouts in this game which is also pretty cool and the paint booth is is much more better. Overall I enjoyed this game it was a lot of fun and hopefully I racing can develop a pretty good game moving forward
