The demo convinced me Moonlight Peaks was another cosy farming simulator with a supernatural coat of paint. It’s clear now that it’s so much more than that. It’s a world that’s easy to get lost in, full of characters worth getting to know and enough activities that the farm often became the last thing on my mind. 30 hours in, I still don’t feel like I’ve seen everything Moonlight Peaks has to offer, and I have a feeling I won’t be putting it down for quite some time yet.

Moonlight Peaks is a wonderful surprise. It takes inspiration from many of the games that came before it, but builds on those ideas with clever quality of life improvements, a charming supernatural setting, and an addictive card game that could almost stand on its own. Whether I was tending crops, expanding my card collection, decorating my home, or exploring another corner of the map, there was always something drawing me back for just one more day. If you’ve been searching for your next cozy obsession, Moonlight Peaks deserves a place near the top of your wishlist. It may be filled with vampires, witches and werewolves, but this is one cozy adventure you’ll be happy to invite into your home.

Moonlight Peaks is an excellent farming life sim that I highly recommend to fans of the genre who enjoy the creepy-cute style. You’ll have a relaxing and comfortable time growing your farm and your relationships, while developing your magical knowledge and abilities in a world that invites you in and allows you to play the way you like best. I had the time of my life playing this game, and the environments, characters, and activities kept me coming back constantly. There’s no doubt I will continue to play this game for a long time to come.

Even with these minor issues, I found myself eager to return to Moonlight Peaks each and every day. After putting a slightly concerning number of hours into the game for this review, I still feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface of all the mysteries the town of Moonlight Peaks has to offer. I can safely say I’ll be playing this one long after the ink on my review has dried, and I am pretty confident in recommending this one.

Most of Moonlight Peaks' problems are only problems if you need to find some. It is inventive enough on its own to be surprising, and makes smart use of genre conventions elsewhere. For anyone who wants to distill it into a simple description, Moonlight Peaks could sit easily among Stardew Valley, Fae Farm and Animal Crossing in the pantheon of life sims.

Moonlight Peaks is an impressive farming sim with clear polish and its own aesthetic vision. The characters are well-rounded and worth getting to know, with lots of great dialogue and personality. It’s difficult not to get sucked into the world of the game and find yourself playing for hours on end after promising yourself just one more. This is the first time in a long time that I have been truly impressed by a farming sim, and I certainly can’t wait to spend another night in the town of Moonlight Peaks.

Moonlight Peaks is a life sim with a unique backdrop and a keen awareness of what makes these types of games appealing. The gothic vibes add freshness to a genre filled with replicas, and the transformations and spells, while not perfect, make for a pleasant complement. There's plenty to do on your monstrous homestead and a charming collection of neighbors into whose lives you can insert yourself, however much you choose. It's worth noting that stamina and mana meters can feel a bit restrictive, especially early on, and the purple tinged nights of the spring and summer seasons can grow tiresome. All in all, though, Moonlight Peaks is a delightful cozy experience that is built for fans of the genre and welcoming enough to newcomers as well.

Turns out that vampires will never hurt you - at least not in Moonlight Peaks. Welcome to the spookiest farm sim yet, where everything happens at night and your crops are suitably supernatural. Moonlight Peaks refreshes the genre with plenty of inventive additions, a cute cast of characters, and absolutely plenty to do during your time in the town.

Sure, it has room for improvement when it comes to comfort and pacing, but its setting, humor, and supernatural charm make you want to keep coming back, night after night.
