A strong argument could be made this is the best stealth-based videogame of all time, outside of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Thief 1/2, and MGS 3, it is hard to argue against it being top 3 if not the best. A unique, now nostalgic, 2000s cartoon aesthetic with great attention to detail in its art direction and animations lend a timeless aspect to this game. The vast arsenal of tools, playstyles, paths, animations, and progressing unlockables is perfect for creating a fun sandbox with stricter levels than say a Chaos theory, but maintains a level of freedom in multiple paths the majority of the time. Even then, when tasked with set piece/linear paths the "puzzle" can be tackled in so many different ways depending on your playstyle, attire, and tools. It becomes even more satisfying when the numerous enemy types play off each other and your choices perfectly, as well as react to your actions with great animated movements such as the frightened Batman Arkham Esc reactions possible. The narrative whilst, of course not being the selling point, is dull and passable but does have a somewhat interesting ending and twist if somewhat generic and none emotionally gripping. The cutscenes however are beautiful and create a decent sense of world-building, reinforcing the in-game art style as a perfect representation of the game making the immersion all the better for it. This game has been talked about much by those in the stealth community, but I feel it still doesn't get the recognition it deserves as being a truly great all-time game in both the genre and gaming. A near flawless experience that takes mechanics such as light/shadow from the classics prior, and places them in a modern context adding more and more compared to almost all competitors. If you have never played this title or perhaps are not sure based on the side scrolling format, give it a try as there is something or every stealth fan and it is worth supporting devs that produce games with this much polish and ambition. A must play for most.

I had this game on my backlog for way too long, really dumb of me because this game is a gem! The game play is smooth and the stealthy moves are so cool! The art and story are phenomenal! And the ending is so awesome and just so very unique! Play this game if you have not already done so, otherwise, play it again!

Great game. The gameplay, sound and visuals are excellent. The story and voice acting are well put. Love the stealth action and the combat. Love the dungeon/plataforming part. I gave an 8 score because of the control scheme. Using the same button (B) for jumping and grabbing could be extremely difficult and confusing when plataforming causing unnecessary death, specially when dealing with lasers. I found it frustrating and tedious at times. Other than that the game is totally excellent.

This is an amazing, fluid and well built 2D platform sneaky game. Sneaky cause you better off to be sneaky to make your life easier in this game. Controls are ultra responsive and it's a delight to play this game. I'm a bit clumsy and have a tendency to forget buttons control when I am being chased by a horde of soldiers... but that's on me. And that was my only issue with Mark of the Ninja: Remastered, which was not the game's fault :D

An excellent 2D stealth platform game that continually adds new mechanics as it progresses and doesn't overstay its welcome. I only wish there were more incentives to get creative with all of the tools available, get more creative, and take greater risks, because though there is a variety of ways to approach any given situation, the game makes it way too easy to handle every single task with the exact same strategy, with the only incentive to ever switch things up being if you're trying to earn a seal, but even earning the seals usually don't force you to switch up your playstyle for more than a single situation. But this game is still fun even when you're approaching every situation with the same strategy.

Bellissimo gioco stealth in 2D. Su switch poi è il gioco perfetto per le pause a lavoro. Lo consiglio vivamente agli amanti del genere e non.

If you like ninjas, stealth games, comic art visuals in a side scrolling platform than this game is for you. Easy simple controls to pick up and go with, I would recommend buying if you see this game on sale. Great addition to the game library.

Great stealth game reminiscent of the Metal Gear Solid games, only in 2d. The story isn't great, but the gameplay more than makes up for it. Scenery gets a bit bland as well, but level design is good. Solid game!

Did not enjoy Mark of the Ninja at all. To much sneaking around and hiding. Price on Nintendo Switch was to steep as well. Fans of the sneak genre will enjoy this but action fans rather skip this game.

I had so much fun playing this game. I typically love stealth assassination games, but I was a little hesitant about a 2D one. It turns out a 2D stealth game can be fantastic if done right, like this game is. One of the best things about it is the freedom and confidence to do just about anything you can think to try--if you fail, you get to try again very quickly with very little fuss. It allows for a lot of experimentation and even during a particularly difficult part of a mission, I never really got too frustrated. The gameplay is so fluid and the assassinations so satisfying that there is joy to be found in doing the most basic things. Different outfits and tools can be combined to sow the most terror, deal the most damage, or to simply escape from sight as quickly as possible. There is plenty of replayability and room to get creative. I prefer to terrorize the guards into shooting each other or falling off the edge of a building, but a swift execution after dangling above them like Spider-Man is fun too. The story was inconsequential to me at first, but eventually I found myself going back to replay old levels while paying more attention to the plot. I found that it's really an interesting one that gives meaning to the things you do in the game. The free DLC content is a very nice bonus addition, as well, adding a little more backstory and forcing you to be a little more creative to dispose of enemies. Overall, I couldn't find much to complain about. Was the ending the greatest? Meh, not really, but it was fitting. It's more about the experience of playing the game and accomplishing in-game achievements, or just accomplishing personal ones.

A game that challenges. A game that captivates history. A game that makes you make a choice. It is not the longest or most difficult, but it is extremely stylish and in some places makes you think about how to pass this or that fragment. It was created in order to take it on a sale for a couple of evenings.

Mark of the Ninja is probably the best a 2D stealth game can get, with level layouts that require you to think of all the options and tools you have at your disposal to take down a guard or overcome a hazard. All elements compliment each other very naturally creating a game with easy to pick up rules and mechanics, which you can then experiment with or take advantage of. This organic feeling combined with a well done setting of mystery and darkness makes this game really immersive and hard to put down. You have tons of moments where you just feel like a badass killing guards and sneaking past dogs and many games fail to bring that bit of satisfaction in stealth. Mark of the Ninja is simple overall but it doesn't get repetitive because of the new settings or hazards in each new area. The biggest downside though is that there aren't that many levels. You can finish the game in like 10 hours and every stage has some replay value but not an insane amount. Is that worth the 20 bucks? When you can play the game on the go using the Switch: Definitely.
