Line Rider's core concept is great, and this sequel does pretty much what it sets out to do: monetize the free online toy with added gameplay, visuals, and music.

Not only can you not just doodle to your heart's content, but when you get near the limit they post annoying signage all over the drawing field as a warning to be feared, and the help tips up top get replaced with messages that tell you to watch it, buster.

If you have the patience to learn the subtleties of sled-track design, there is a lot of value in this little package.

I have this game. BUT this is a game that is a stupid ripoff. I think the PC version is Way better than this. The story mode is not catchy. the freestyle mode is fun but you can't do much, because it is hard to decorate, you have a curtain amount of lines in one area (which is the dumbest thing in games), your zoomed out VERY far, the goal tricks aren't very exiting, have a amount of tracks you can save (which means you need to delete some of your saved tracks), and the sound is kind of quiet and need to turn it up really high in order to here the sound effects. Even thought this is $5.00, it is STILL a rip off. NEVER give this to a line rider fan, because it might change there mind of liking line rider games anymore.

"Line Rider Unbound: 2" is an awesome concept. That's the best thing you will hear from me. The game has a broken story mode nobody can beat, is based mainly around luck. This game would be awesome as a download, but you can only carry about nine games at a time in your DS case. Do you really want THIS to be one of them? Freestyle is fun, but gets old fast. Not much to do, and probably not worth five dollars. Physics lovers might like it, but nobody else will play past an hour. Too many bugs, not enough features and a very forgettable execution. I just still can't bring myself to quite hate it though. It could be because of how clever the concept was, but nevertheless- Just not worth over $5.00.

Line Rider Freestyle takes the template of the popular online game and runs with it, improving on the original in every single way.

Line Rider 2 has something for everyone, but the game’s main story mode is quite demanding.

The trouble with Line Rider 2 is that while it's not short of options, the core idea can wear tin quite quickly. [Dec 2008, p.81]

Some players may still have the most fun with the basic freestyle mode, though, drawing a gigantic mess of loop-the-loops and seeing if the poor sledder survives them.(He usually doesn't.) [Nov 2008, p.102]

One of the most robust online community setups to grace Nintendo’s handheld, enabling users to link the DS game to a web profile, where they can browse and queue tracks for later download. [Dec 2008, p.99]

For a game where the sole mechanic is to draw lines, it’s ironic that not long after starting, you’ll feel like the ink is already starting to run dry.

Line Rider 2’s graphics are unimpressive to say the least; I've seen better-looking Flash games. Some of the musical tracks are catchy, but it's not enough to save the experience. Just bear in mind that the internet game is free, folks.
