Light is a decent demonstration of stealth done on a smaller scale. The minimalist approach is novel, and the bare-bones stealth mechanic can be refreshing to those entering the genre for the first time.

There is certainly light in this tunnel, but it doesn't shine brightly enough to reach the end. [Oct 2014, p.81]

Light ends up feeling like a proof of concept, an unfinished prototype with some decent ideas that either lack depth or don't quite hit the mark. Ultimately, strong aesthetics can't compensate for that. [Sept 2014, p.126]

Light is a short and simple 2D stealth game. It's fairly easy, and gives you the option of completing most stages how you like. You can avoid killing completely or kill everyone. You can go sneak around undetected or make a run for it. In each of the 12 levels, you are tasked with completing 1-4 objectives before exiting the level. The only fail condition is that you get killed by one of the guards. The whole game, and all Steam achievements, can be completed in about an hour. The graphics are sleek and simple, and if you don't like the effects, you can turn them off in the options menu. The music is good too, which is great, because the developers include the soundtrack for free.

The game itself is okay, very simplistic, has it's moment, and a little fun, the problem is that the game is incredibly short, (finished it in less then a hour.) and very over priced, for such a game; 5$ tops not 13$.

It’s tough to wholeheartedly recommend Light given its imperfect brevity, but if you couldn't care less about the $12.99 price tag, then by all means give it a try.

It’s difficult to recommend Light in its current state. It’s a fun game, but its so short and so easy that it doesn’t remotely justify its price.

The idea behind Light is certainly interesting, but the execution is not that great. It's really short and there's not much variation between the different missions.

Light is a good game, but it is too short and doesn't last more than an hour.

The idea is good, and it manages to entertain, but the experience is extremely shot, so you might want to wait for an offer to buy it.

Everywhere you look, Light is a sloppy, unfinished game. Next time I’ll think twice before voting for games in Steam Greenlight – who knows, maybe that short stylish trailer is actually the entire game!

I bought this game expecting a minimalist experience, and fair enough, that is what I got. What I didn't expect was that within an hour after starting the game up for the first time, I had already beaten it. The stealth aspect of the game becomes completely irrelevant as there is little to no penalty (other than a high score penalty but who cares?) for killing guards. Considering it is the quickest way to progress, the game actually sorta encourages you to kill guards anyway. Cool premise for a tablet or phone platform, with beautiful visuals and a great soundtrack, but with such a large price tag attached to it there is just no way I could justify buying it.

This game will last you less than an hour, which wouldn't be a problem if that hour wasn't a crushingly dull one being told an eye-rollingly clumsy and unconvincing story through an aggressively mediocre gameplay experience. You think the trailer and premise shows promise? None of that promise is realised. The soundtrack is pretty good, at least.
