Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is an artistic action game that hides behind the tower defence genre. The trailers cannot do this game justice and it’s a shame for people to pass on it if they think this is a very simplistic action game. There is depth and strategic thinking behind every mission and the only downside is the village management/repair segments. Capcom should be proud of this one.

A strikingly beautiful experience that keeps all things in balance. Its successful simplicity and gorgeous visuals give Kunitsu-Gami a timeless quality. [Issue#44, p.80]

Even if it doesn't keep its elements in lockstep, then, the colour, soundscape and imagination of Kunitsu-Gami is nothing if not exquisite theatre. [Issue#401, p.104]

One of the most ambitious, stylish, original, and memorable "Tower Defense" games I've ever played. I think in today's pitiful "Live-Service" market, Capcom becomes a hero by publishing such a game.

Excelent gane with beautiful art direction and addicting gameplay. You won’t stop playing it uktik you finish building those villages.

Knight protect princess old fashion tale. it feels like DOTA tower defence game. but no pressure casual difficulty. the four seasons theme music are peaceful and good. I prefer demake version.

Capcom continues its winning streak with a game filled with personality. It may overwhelm you at first, but its mix of action, strategy and folklore will suck you into its gameplay.

its a PS2 game made in 2024 in the best possible way, a mix of pikmim, onimusha and tower defense games with a lot of charm and subtle story telling through in-game means.

With a very different and highly competent proposal, Capcom's new title fulfills its role very well and delivers a quality experience. The gameplay expertly blends strategy and action in the right measure so that the levels do not fall into excessive repetitiveness, although the difficulty is very accessible and, at several points, even too easy.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is an exciting action-strategy hybrid that left me yearning to know more about its inspirations and intricacies. The satisfying day-night structure of its stages evoked that overwhelming “just one more thing” feeling that easily had me losing track of time – and while it could occasionally be tainted by busy work base management deeper in, the overall experience was a delightfully unique one. It’s not the most challenging action game around, but the strategy it demands is still satisfying, and its wide range of interesting enemy designs and quiet but effective storytelling are something I’ll remember for a long while. It’s an odd thought, but I’m glad a game as enigmatic as Kunitsu-Gami exists.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is a breath of fresh air. Its tireless commitment to its aesthetic, and enticing, varied gameplay make for a memorable experience. One that is as charming as it is enthralling. In an era where Capcom largely produces remakes and sequels, games like Kunitsu-Gami are more important than ever. Every inch of Kunitsu-Gami feels deliberate, and the passion of those who developed it bleeds through. Kunitsu-Gami is carving a path forward for Capcom, and at the end of that path is a more creative gaming landscape.

Combining several related genres, Kunitsu-Gami Path of the Goddess offers us a twisted perspective of Japanese folklore with an entertaining plot. While there are a lot of things that could have done better, in general, it delivers according to its promise.

Fascinatingly strange in all the best ways but while the action is solid the strategy aspects are undercooked and the disparate gameplay elements never gel the way they should.

Stunningly beautiful game with lots of dancing, hack'n'slash combat, tower defence, RTS and some relaxed resource gathering. A unique combination of many game types.

Review based on the demo: Kunitsu-Gami has potential. It has a lovely setting reminding me of Kena or Sakuna of Rice and Ruin (all 3 having the themes of man vs nature and adventuring in the wilderness). I liked the colour palette. I liked the gameplay. I also appreciate how it wastes almost no time it just puts into the action almost immediately, which pairs well with the fact that the game is easy to get into. However, this is also its main drawback: it's a very simple game. Additionally, it lacks a story, unlike of the other two games I mentioned. The camera when placing pawns was limited which I didn't appreciate. ultimately it is a decent idea but it will get repetitive and there simply isnt much to do, so not a game i am hurrying to play, but maybe one day if its in the PS+ extra catalogue. 72/100.

Simplesmente viciante, é um game inovador que garante dezenas de horas de gameplay, bons gráficos já que se beneficia da RE engine e com um estética de cores magnífica, trilha sonora e demais aspectos estão de parabéns.

Don't ever buy this game for the switch 2 the graphics is awful and the performance is sometimes less 30fps. Worst part is that you can't refund the game because they make you refuse of right before you can even try it...

Impossible difficulty spike during a boss fight a third of the way ruins the game.A real shame because I was enjoying it up until then.
SummaryA new tale of the Kami awaits. Witness an epic clash between the sprit realm and mortal man, featuring traditional Japanese aesthetics.
