I WAS SURPRISED AT HOW MUCH FUN THIS GAME IS!!!!! Keeping in mind it is a $10 game I went in with no expectations. The graphics are nice. They have a Looney Toons look in a way. The courses are well designed with short cuts and decent variety. I especially like the Chinese Dragon tracks. There a little on the short side and a few tracks are either way to cluttered in sections and one track is an actual raceway where you basically bounce off the wall but it is a good time none the less. But as a whole I really love the look. The power ups are standard for these types of games. Nothing really stands out and they do not have the glamour of a Mario Kart. They also do not seem to dictate who wins a race. They do not ruin the game either so it is a trade off. Since you use your avatar if you have complaints about the driver than....well? Sorry. The cars are a little to hard to unlock and the game is way to easy til the last series of races. Then it just gets **** hard. Just annoying. There is also 2 open world tracks for tricks and finding power ups. It is a decent add to the game and a clever way to upgrade your vehicle but it gets a tad boring after a while. But it is the only way to get the upgrades. The main problem with the game is there just isn't enough tracks. But it is $10. I would gladly pay for more but I doubt it will sale well enough to get them. Still a good game.

Sous ses dehors assez repoussants (graphismes 256 couleurs niais et gogols) destinés à singer les produits Nintendaube du genre, Joy Ride Turbo n'est pas si mauvais avec son action débridée sur les quelques pistes fantaisistes proposées. On se tire la bourre avec une IA agressive mais plutôt cohérente et on apprécie la conduite survoltée -et encore perfectible- mais très sujette aux dérapages spectaculaires.... qui remplissent la jauge de turbo ! Les bonus récoltés aux hasard se révèlent hasardeux tandis que plus on avance, plus les voitures sont puissantes sur les 3 catégories disponibles. La dernière est carrément exagérée et devient très fouillis et très confuse alors que les courses partent vraiment dans tous les sens. Le nombre de circuits demeure en tout cas limité, ce qui conduit à un sentiment de répétition non négligeable. Enfin, malgré les graphismes simplets et neuneus, le jeu n'est même pas en 60 im/s... il peine même à soutenir les 30 la plupart du temps ! voilà donc ce petit jeu indé limité qui n'a pas réinventé la roue et qui n'est pas très doué non plus.
