The game is so predatory the cars are to expensive to buy pacifically with career cars that are required like In menu book 39 a GR.3 class car race and lies the you can use any car in it but will punish you for it because I used my Camaro ZL1 1EL package 18 and I lost the first race the penalties don't apply to bad ai driving if you try to do an clean bonus race and the costs of GR.3 cars are so expensive there the same price as the Plymouth superbird 70 and the game forces you to use a gr3 car to complete it game **** and need to be made better for the car community and the car guys who like cars and dosint want to be disrespect by the game until I see physical changes I will not be giving any better ratings on the game good day to you and fix your crap

Game has no redeeming qualities one of the worst things I've ever had the misfortune of playing

In reading through these reviews, I've seen a lot of complaints about the difficulty of GT7, or about microtransactions and greed on polyphony and sony's part. To be honest, I think it is completely unfounded and annoying really because of how much it has hurt this great game's rating. I got this game before I got my driver's license, mainly because my dad thought it could be good practice for me and I could learn a lot about cars. And... I did! On top of that, I had no difficulty-based problems at all, even without any driving assists which I still think are silly to have on. Yes, I don't have gold on every single mission and driving license and first in every race but that just means you can always do more and it is actually a challenge not a waste of your time. Additionally, I think it made me much better of a driver even if knowing how to drive at 200mph isn't the most applicable skill. As for microtransactions? I've never even thought about them. I haven't spent a single dollar in the game in four years of playing, and I don't even think the amount you need to grind is too excessive really. In fact, I wouldn't even really call it grinding because you're just playing a fun game; it's not a chore or anything. All in all, it's a great game and I just think it's sad that there are so many people out there downvoting it for such bad reasons and not highlighting any of the many amazing things about GT7.

Dont listen to the "critics" reviews. Its sad GT is apart of the microtransaction train. They make it progressively way more difficult, even on easy mode, to beat any menus. This forces you to reevaluate your garage, and reconsider purchasing "better" vehicles that are ultimately just as nerfed as the other "better" cars. Its an endless cycle of deception and makes the game unplayable and unfair. Unless i hear of a change in the next sequal, im done with GT. Ive been a lifelong fan. But at this point, im done. Theyve gone too far down the arcade hole and prey on the newer fans who dont know any better. Polyphony, and sony, and the entirety of the gran turismo staff: do better. You should be ashamed of what you made and for being complicit in the greed.

This game is amazing. It has a lot of cars and has some history about it and that’s a good thing though. However, the bad is that these tests are hard as ****. Everything is hard these days I made a review about need for speed heat and I **** hate that game so much electronic art makes the worst damn games ever and I hate everything about it. Stick to Forza horizon and crew motor **** need for speed heat. I’m not with phony and **** every single racing game here now, except Greers smoke.

Review after 2000 hours in the game, received gold in the whole career, and supplement, in the tests and licenses, acquaintance with the tracks, bought all cars, in the online earned AS rating, in my country I take the 28th position according to the version of ****… GT7 remains the only game about motorsport, which allows you to immerse a person in this world as gently and carefully as possible. It gives the opportunity to explore the most famous racing tracks to feel the difference in physics between all the most popular classes of racing cars and civilian versions. For a beginner, this is the best way to get started with simracing, where you'll be guided step by step and taught everything you need to know. However, it's become evident to older players that the online experience has lost its autosport atmosphere, and the activities have become more like arcade-style time-killers. New tracks and cars are being introduced, but they are not allowed in the online mode, and BoP is being cut, transforming gt3 into gt4.5.
The last straw was the last two add-ons, which stupidly added reverse track configurations that are not designed for reverse driving. In reality, no simulator or arcade race has a reverse nordschleife configuration, as it is completely absurd and would only be acceptable for a mario cart. Polyphony Digital has forgotten what sports are, and the development of GT7 is increasingly moving away from motorsports towards arcade nonsense. I am selling the game disc and will return no earlier than the next numbered game, hoping for a fix.

Fantastic driving simulator as always. Cars look absolutely pristine, even better than in real life. Cars feel and sound like their true selves for the most part. Dualsense feels great to use and there is an option where you can use your controller as a steering wheel. It's not the most precise but is very fun to use and is what I played with since I did not have a steering wheel. The menu system seems to be this game's main career mode and it's serviceable. It does ensure that you are trying out a lot of different cars which I enjoy. Driving school returns and is challenging to get all the golds but is a huge accomplishment if you can complete them all. They have a new game mode where it incorporates music into the challenge which is a nice change of pace. I don't really want to touch the whole microtransaction thing but i'd prefer that they did not have that in place. Overall you're getting a high quality racing sim game that will eat up 100s of hours.

Very toxic community can't play online because everyone is ramming everyone there are a few lobbies when there is no rammer and the singleplayer mode is very grindy because a new car is 450k . The game is not worth the price.

The best sims racing game, graphics are top notch, performance is clean also having VR #psvr2 is a game changer for console gamers 10/10 for me, gameplay is beautiful, going form day to night and then seeing the flames come out the cara exhaust is eye catching, 100s of cars to buy and fully modify in-cab is on another level. The attention to detail is near perfect.

I've played over 10 hours of this game. I really like it. I don't understand the low ratings at all. I play with a gamepad and I'm having a great time.

Beyond terrible gamepad support. GT7 reduces your steering angle on top of forcing slow ass filtered steering on gamepad players. Polyphony made the handling even worse for pad players with several updates, catering to wheel players only.

Worst AI in the entire GT universe. This game is such a scam. I remember playing GT5, a real racing simulator. AI in GT7 is designed to overtake you at an incredible pace. They don't really burn tires as much as you do and their fuel lasts much longer than yours. Once you reach %50 completion at World Circuits, the worst part of the game begins. What's worse is you can't even rate this game on the PS Store if you haven't bought the digital version. I own the physical copy and I can't rate the game. Honestly, screw Sony and Polyphony Digital. Y'all both f'd this game up. I miss GT5...

The 'tutorial' lasts forever. You should gain access to buy AND modify cars right away. The performance of the cars is rather poor overall - chiefly the steering. It feels like you can only turn your tires a little bit, whereas in real life, you can turn a LOT faster. Makes tight cornering feel like extremely poor and often sends you flying off the track, simply because the devs made it so that the turning is highly unrealistic.

I’m rating it a 5 instead of a 7 because all 6 of the random gifts have always been the lowest tier. Apart from that, the game is slow and repetitive. After playing for almost 6 hours, I feel like I’ve seen everything the game has to offer.

I’ve been playing since the original PlayStation version 1 of the game. I’m 53 years old. This version is incredible. I even bought the expansion pack. The only reason it wasn’t 10/10 for me is I’ve been grinding for 2 years and over 430 hours of play and still dont have enough money to buy all the cars. They seem to really make it difficult without ingame purchases of credits. That’s the biggest drawback to these games now as well as needing a membership to play online multiplayer. Otherwise the game is fantastic and absolutely love it.

Bla Blah Blah to all of you trolls and haters. This game is damn good. A much better one than GT SPORT. And to all you complaining about the internet only system, its our own fault. Listen to Yamauchi san's explanation why did he did that and that is TO AVOID CHEATING! The only complain I give this game is the Legends Dealership. Wish all the legend cars are available. Other than that, we're good.

I've played GRAN Turismo since GT1 in 97'. I love this series. GT7 has made me hate this game. I can almost forgive the stretched & artificially elongated grinding for credits to get cars, even though it worked fine in GT4 which is still arguably better in almost every way. What killed this game for me, was a few things. First, the developers polyphony digital catering to the hardest of the hardcore fringe fans, demanding they make the game as insanity level difficult as possible. I don't think I've ever gotten even silver medal on any weekly races, & I'm literally 10-15+ seconds off the top time. I can barely - BARELY - make bronze. The challenge missions are just ludicrous. I don't know who they think the game is for, but it's not for the normal, regular racing game fan now. If you don't quit your job, but a $20,000 simulation rig, and dedicate 14+ hours a day to practice every day, you WILL NOT even do well in the game. I'm convinced some of those mission challenges demand you do 10+ laps with a slower car, with cheating faster AI, & demand you hit every corner & every apex perfectly. Perfect. Miss one? Might as well restart, because that just cost you gold time. They keep lowering & lowering & lowering the times of license tests & circuit segments, under the guise of "rebalanced driving mechanics". BS. They just made the times harder, so you'd grind more, so you'd keep playing the game. Unfortunately, for many like me, it's doing the exact opposite - I DON'T want to play this for 80 hours a week, & now I have ZERO desire or intention to buy (or even play if I got it for free) GT8. This game killed the series to me. Also, the community is either toxic & hateful, or a brainwashed cult. If you dare even THINK about saying something constructive, or (heaven forbid) negative about the game, you'll be met with the mindless droning predictable chants of, "skill issue" & "git gud". The GT7 subreddit is filled with fluff & substanceless pointless boring garbage, and gtplanet - holy cow don't even start with gtplanet. That place is out of control mod ban central if you dare say anything non-positive about the game. It's one of the most brainwashed toxic cult fan bases I've ever seen in gaming. It ****, because the graphics are pretty good and the car selection isn't terrible. It's extremely annoying that they paywall lots of cars & try to force you to buy credits with real money instead of either 1) let you sell cars, or 2) don't make the game so grindey. They lowered payouts of races that people figured out "credit exploits" for, or patched those REALLY quick. Other bugs & issues? Those can wait for the patch every 4-6 months. The keep making the game harder & harder, whole lowering & lowering the payouts for races, making the grinding even more tedious. It's awful what they've done to this series, & I will not be continuing to support it by either playing or spending a single penny more on it. I'll go back to GT2-5, before things got really bad. This game deserves a 0, simply due to its ability to kill one of the best racing games ever, & to somehow become one of the most anti-gamer/anti-consumer games ever made. If you wanted to make the "dark souls" of racing, do it with the difficulty slider. Setting it to medium or easy has no effect. Rage gaming isn't fun - I play to have fun & chill, not to sweat buckets & play a circuit 5,000 times just to get enough good runs ON ONE HAND. If I need to play the game for 2,000 hours before you start "getting gud", needing to explain why that's fking insane is part of the problem. No more polyphony digital, no more gran turismo. Time for something - Anything - else. 0/10

Kazunori Yamauchi The game is crap, take an example from LMU, Why does the guy driving behind you fly into you as soon as he hits you, but as soon as you barely touch him, you get a 2-second penalty? Why doesn't the game count laps? THIS GAME WILL DESTROY ALL YOUR NERVES

I am a Gran Turismo fan. On May 9th (the day after it launched) I took my saved up money and a few quid my Dad gave me extra to go out and buy my original copy of Gran Turismo for the Playstation. That game started me on my racing and sim racing journey. Returning for the 7th edition then, I was only too eager to see what the next generation of the title had to offer. Sadly, I was disappointed immediately. The game lacked features. It lacked modern cars and it lacked a proper racing experience. Jaded and confused as to how they could get things so wrong, I put GT7 down for a year or two, returning in time for the Spec 3 update and the Power Pack. Has my mind changed? No. Is the short answer. The problems are everywhere with GT7. Vehicle choice is still rather limited despite there being free updates most months and there being a good number of cars in the game. The problem is, many of them are over 10 years old and so many are the same old models we've seen from the earliest games. Do we really need so many GT-R models? So many Mitsubishi Lancers? Are we going to care about the subtle, almost imperceptible differences? Some may. I do not. Second, the track choices are interesting here. So many circuits from the original games have returned but have been sanitised beyond belief. Old favourites like Trial Mountain, once a thrilling dash through sweeping turns and through tree-lined forested straights now have been changed into a technical nightmare of tight mickey mouse chicanes and concrete tunnels. They're still beautiful of course, that is one of the pillars of Gran Turismo. But the racing and driving experience has been blunted by the bland redesigns. With such a rich catalogue of circuits to pick from, so many have been left on the cutting room too which is disappointing. The gameplay loop in single player is also unsatisfying. I actually don't know who this game was made for. One the one hand, you will have petrolheads who want to tune their cars and paint them up. These people are well catered for since the tuning options have stayed largely the same across the 7 mainline games and the customisation options are an area of immense strength here. If you can dream up a livery, you can make it for your car and they look stunning, especially on PS5. But the actual driving is where the issues begin for me. First of all there are two types of AI. The original block head AI is as stupid as it has always been with cars driving into one another and generally not being very intelligent. The GT Sophy AI which is supposed to mimic a real human opponent is irritating and cheats clearly. Every opening lap I've ever raced against them has seen them speed boost like they've picked up a Mario Kart mushroom past me only to slow down and come back to me a short while later. So failure there too. If you're coming to this game to actually do some racing, well, in single player, prepare for some major frustrations and disappointment. The racing is poor. It's all down to the premise Polyphony have posed which, to me, a racing fan, is bizarre. Very few if any races are standing grid-based starts where a good one can make you up a few positions before turn one. Usually, the player is starting every race from 20th position, in a single file rolling start, which means by the time you get the iconic GT countdown tone to begin, the leader is half way around the lap. You frequently have to be making up more than 5 seconds per lap to just catch sight of the leader, never mind pass him. Performance from the AI varies too. Some of the competitions they have put together for you are simple affairs. Others, such as the Gr1 prototype challenge involve a ham-fisted attempt to recreate endurance racing but over 10 laps and just with ridiculously wild car choices and overpowered AI. They also make an attempt to throw the dynamic weather and time in here. Also, a mixed bag. We might as well address variable weather here. AI is affected by this, sometimes. They make an attempt to show them slowing down to match conditions but, and this is true of most games to be fair, here they simply aren't affected enough. If you manage to catch yourself on the wrong tyre in a monsoon, you will not be able to move, spinning wildly at very low speed. The AI though, they will function fine. Gran Turismo 7 is still beautiful and still offers that same blend of realism and arcade immediacy with it's handling but it's overreliance on bizarre menu-based driving challenges and its generally poor single player experience go hand in hand with its blatant shift to credits grinding (they want you to buy their in-game currency) to create a very empty feeling mess. It isn't much of a racing game if you want to race, and there isn't much else on offer either. If you will mostly race online with people you know, then there is fun to be had, otherwise this was a massively, immensely, disappointing game and I will not be looking forward to GT8.

I spent 2 years on GT7, and for the longest time, I thought the game was pretty damn good. The visuals are spectacular, the road grip is a lot more realistic (probably specified for the regular civilian drivers), and it was really cool seeing the older circuits from previous installments return. Looking back however, the campaign was quite crappy and not what I expected, plus why are the vehicles so expensive? None the less, it's best to continue enjoying this title, until GT8 finally comes out.

Its pretty good, one of the best racing games even, but its repetitive and it has flaws. Gran turismo 7 is a racing game that i cant say is like any other, you see most racing games and you have that adrenaline like theme, you also see some sim racers just being plain sim racers and then you have GT7 which has some of the finest and more elegant presentations in gaming, treating every car like an experience like no other, each finely made with its own description and gorgeous interiors. This is even more expanded with the cafe mode which ill talk to later. Talking about graphics, its like the best looking racing game yet probably (without mods at least), it goes at 4k NATIVE and if you have 120hz vrr it goes even further and it just looks gorgeous. It has a camera lens photorealism with a more cold temperature color. Every car model is finely done with so many and i mean so many details, just zoom in on a headlight and you will see. The stars in the sky are all how they would look in real life, not kidding they didnt just put random white dots, they did it with conciousness. The game has so many details that you HAVE to watch videos just seeing the insane ammount of work this game has. It also has a photo mode and with correct filters and positioning i have been fooled into thinking it was real life photos for a moment, and also many look lovely. And the replay modes, its like real life, i love to see it, i finish a great race and then just start watching it again because its just so gorgeous and nice to look at The soundtrack is pretty good. The OST of GT7 itself (meaning the tracks specifically made for this game) arent really good, it has some decent classical music remixes at best but its honestly pretty meh. But it has over 200 tracks and they are almost all great. Menu music is mostly jazz, classical and electronic songs that is just an eargasm to listen to. Race music some are good but not many are as memorable as the ones in the menu. Talking about the driving itself, its a simcade, while the driving, handling, braking and many other things are pretty realistic it isnt a true sim like Iracing or ACC, you cant finely tune ABS and TCS, the difference in the tuning part is brutal, crashes dont destroy your car, tyres wont get completely flat or destroyed, cant manual pit and more stuff, but its realistic enough for a lot of people, it does well in where it has to do well but it isnt the best sim racer. Also the camera is pretty bad in this game, cockpit cant be adjusted a lot and third person could be far better, its horrible with default settings. Aside from this stuff its good, it handles well and its fun to play if you like these kind of games, as i said its realistic enough for many. The modes and content is the problematic part. As for single player you have many modes, the main one is Café, you go to a restaurant that serves cars instead of food in a rather elegant way, you will pick a menu, it will give you an objective and once you complete it you get a reward (be it tracks or loot boxes) and also get a brief history lesson about the type of cars you were getting; its not bad at all but its also not good really, the mission is either a tutorial to a mode or race in 3 tracks, get those 3 cars from the tracks and repeat until you finish all the menus, its repetitive, very much so, there isnt anything really special about it, but the presentation is nice and the rewards are too. You also have lisences, you must beat a sector or track in X ammount of time to get broze, silver or gold, and trying to get gold on everything can be hard but really fun and it a great way to help you improve, i even want more of these, the rewards arent very good tho. You also have missions, which is like lisences but more arcadey, say drift, hit cones, try to get X speed, etc, not really great but can be fun, once again poor rewards. You can customize your cars and share it on the GT7 social media network, where you can see custom car liveries, great photos, races and more, its trully amazing the social media, i love it. You have also a great photo mode, decently complete and allows you to do great shots. Lastly in the 40 + tracks there is, you can do circuit experiences to learn them in an intuitive way wiith 500+ cars. Overall decent single player but very repetitive For MP its good and bad. While it has decent schedules, fun races and championships and private leagues, the penalty system is one of the worst i saw that almost ruins it completely, people can dive you and crash into you and YOU get penalized, seriously they need to improve it. Also there is a online time trial which if you get in X% you get rewards. It has a great ammount of content, its creative, with its own soul and unique non replicable style and not too bad of a multiplayer, but it has issues with how repetitive single player can be and the penalty system of multiplayer discourages you from playing, unless you are a rammer. Overall worth 30$.

Best racing game ever. On Consoles.
I never felt this since GT1, and way much after, on GT3 to be honest. What a finition: From Chrome details to interiors Speedos, through cockpit, shadows, tyres pieces wear on the track (internal reflection of the pilot helmet on the screen(!), ray tracing….)
And, though it might be great with a pad, it’s an absolute revelation with a DD wheel. This is absolute madness. What a game….

I was quite shocked to see the user score of 2.6 here. I have been playing Gran Turismo since the first game. My favorites up to now were 3 and 6. But with all the content updates and the polish over the years, this game just feels so incredible. I am now playing the power pack challenges, for the first time with PS VR2. Honestly, it's hard to describe just how awesome this feels! But the real game changer is the Spophy AI. With these intense battles on track, the races really come alive. GT7 no longer feels like you are driving for your self with some moving obstacles. It now feels very much like being on track. And this feeling alone is worth 10 out 10 for me, even if I still cannot comprehend why you have to be online at all time in order to play this game.

It's good and handles fine, I suggest a wheel with tc set to 3 or less all other assists off and it is completely playable. Minus drifting I use the controller for that and it works far better like drifting on rails. Play carx or JDM for drifting Play this for grip racing and to the other dude that complained about grip issues, skill issue bro. that's all.
