Gothic II: Complete Classic brings us an opportunity to experience a landmark action RPG using today's means. While some of its elements need improvement, namely a graphic performance which suffers from occasional frame rate losses, and a control system that feels less natural on a console than the original game's did, this version of Gothic II stands out when it comes to its exploration, the way we approach our tasks, and multiple interactions which will keep players looking under every nook and cranny for a long time.

The Switch port is kind of bittersweet for me. The game itself is as great as it was years ago. But if I'm doing the remaster, couldn't it have been done better? [Issue#332]

This wonderful game is not well converted into Switch. And even on PC it may be tiring to play in 2025 without 2 small union mods: TimeMultiplier and QuickLoot. With these, I'd give 6. With better controls, it should be 10 automatically, but moving around, especially during the battles, is very very clunky

Game have some bugs that don’t let you progress into it and most of the time You have other bugs that are annoying with no story.

Really very bad game. Unacceptable combat system, poor character design, linear gameplay, cliche story - all of this makes Gothic 2 so boring to play. At least, Morrowind is much much better.

The Switch port of Gothic II delivers the game more or less as-is, plus the Night of the Raven expansion. There are some new motion controls here but I wouldn’t really recommend them. For better or worse, this is the game. If you enjoyed the port of the first game, you’ll like this even more. If you didn’t, you might want to step cautiously. There are a lot of things you’ll have to deal with in this game to properly enjoy it, and only some of those are due to it being a game from the turn of the millennium. If you can get used to the quirks endemic to this series, however, the rewards are many.

There is no game with a world like Gothic 2. The immersion is just unbelivable. I beg every fan of rpgs to play it!

A true Gem, I never imagined 20 years ago when I first started to play this game, it will mean so much to me now. And being able to share this experience with my kids in the future on a modern console, is gonna be so rewarding. As for the game is the same old good game that I remember. I really love the revamped intro :)

Gothic 2 Complete Classic finally brings a great action RPG on Switch. You can see that the original is from 2002/2003, but beside the aged technology even the presentation is still an important contribute to an intensive atmosphere. The Switch port is a good chance for fans to experience this real classic again. Series newcomers should be aware of a relatively high difficulty level and a lack of modern comfort functions.

It's a game that demands patience, but rewards exploration with a sense of discovery and genuine joy in overcoming its challenges. Ultimately, Gothic II's legacy lies not in its polish but in its pioneering spirit. It helped lay the groundwork for the genre we know and love, and for that, it deserves our respect, even if I ultimately choose to leave its clunky controls and endless errands in the past.

Just finished on switch works perfectly, 0 game breaking bugs in my game, sometimes starts to stutter on quality mode, but we have performance mode to fix it, anyway i played it mostly in quality anyway.

Playing as a magician for a week. Bugs have not been fixed since 2003:
some spells still fly away, you can speak to the dragons without Innos eye,
you will have 10 of them, cause the game duplicates some items, e.g. Beliars Rune, when you sell 100 arrows you get 1 gold, some NPC can loose their hitbar, Minental is still a location with many problems and the game crashes often. If you trank elixir of healing/mana, it will glow till the end of the game. The real problems began in 5th chapter, death wave simply causes crash in Minental castle. Opening the caslte just gate causes the game stuck =/
It's great to play this game on switch, but please fix the issues.
