This game is incredibly addictive. I can't believe it fell under the radar

From what i played, i can't see why the game gets all the hate. Combat is fun, the story is easy to follow, and the valorplates look cool. Overall enjoyable I say.

Don't even bother with the challenger version of the game.Tutorial is super long and boring then you are thrown into the endgame with barely any explanation. Spent 2 hours in a quest to summon a boss, for the boss to be extremely over leveled to the point where I could barely hit it. And the gameplay isn't even that fun, the combat just does not feel smooth to play. A giant waste of my time.

This is my very first PS5 game and I really loved this game, I understand that this game is only online game which I don't like it, but I really enjoyed it. Overall I'm really looking forward to see if they add offline mode for this game.

Quick background on me the reviewer, I tend to like single player games that is heavy on narrative the most. I also play a lot of racing games and use to play multiplayer games in my high school days but now that it's hard for me and my friends to find a good time to link up so now it’s rarer for me to get into a multiplayer game. Up to try any genre of games and sometimes I find something new that I didn't think I'd like. I own a PC (built by me), Xbox One X, Xbox Series X, PS3, PS4, PS5, and a Switch. I prefer Playstation due to their focus on narrative games. For scoring, I’ll be using the Gameinformer review scale and of course influenced by my personal opinions. (5) Flawed. It may be obvious that the game has lots of potential, but it’s most engaging features could be undeniably flawed or not integrated into the experience. Although the combat works and there are no mechanical flaws of the game, the rest of the game fails to exist. It's a empty world that you don't want to spend time in.

I love this game. I started following this game very early in development and while it was somewhat disapointing the updates sure made up for it. while im not a fan of the bosses or hunts vs animals i love the group fights and kind of miniboss enimies but sometime their movesets can feel unfair. Regardless this game is amazing.

Wollte es mal kurz antesten, da mich die eher schlechten Kritiken lange abgeschreckt haben. Hatte dann aber mit der Kampagne echt meinen Spaß. Die Welten boten zwar nicht gerade Abwechslung, aber die Kämpfe haben mir Spaß gemacht. Also einen Blick wert ist es auf jeden Fall, wenn man mit Hack'n'Slay was anfangen kann.

Looks great but anything else is not. Gameplay is fun but repetitive, the story is laughable. There is a conflict but the characters have the personality of a potato and the backstory.

Es una nueva variación de lotter, no es para jugar una buena campaña, cumple su fin y tiene mucho material aparte de que es casi pura bossfight el sistema de combate está muy pulido, solo le falta volar cabezas , si te gustan los combates estilo god of war y matar jefes este juego es para ti, si esperas una buena campaña e historia no lo compres , como todo este tipo de juegos la campaña es solo un pretexto para entrar a pelear

Jogo terrível, cópia absolutamente piorada de God of War de 2018 e Dark Souls, carisma zero, repetitivo ao extremo, cansa após 15 minutos de gameplay.

No Map button, No mini Map. For this type of game, that's a decrease in like 5-6 points straight away. it's like the developers have never played a video game before. They don't present the story very well, so be prepared to play for 8 hours and still not understand what the hell is going on with that. It's badly explained, badly put forward and even by reading the codex information it's as if they heard a story then tried to replicate it but missed the best parts. Imagine being told about back to the future without the delorean, marty or doc. There is no excitement, no motivation bar raising stats and fighting the same things with slightly higher stats. I mean gaming is all about this but... never quite so in your face obvious as this. it drains any hope you have for next generation gaming. The game is pretty to look at, and it's very linear... i mean i'd tell you to explore but with the lack of map button (i mean seriously) you might end up getting lost and going in circles and it's just repetitive **** anyway (as pretty as it is, it's all just copy n paste with maybe different colours for different realms). The maps aren't even well thought out which is why there isn't a map button, the disappointment then would be much more real. Game throws a lot at you without really explaining anything, it'll tell you about spirit tethers and rubbish but not show you what one looks like.. so there's guesswork and hitting stuff involved at the beginning (honestly the tutorial and starting missions afterwards are badly thought out and will put you off the story part of the game anyway). You kill things (maybe like what 20 different enemy types which are then repeated with slightly different colours of textures). Hack and slash. Then loot 99% of useless junk, and one upgrade out of a 100 things. Then continue. It's not fun. it's not enjoyable, and it'll just waste away your life. Do anything else but play this. There's different armours to craft but that means grinding the mats to make them, and they're not all that different. in this game like destiny you'd have thought they'd make them a little more original and standalone with maybe classes (like tank, dps... or even paladin, mage etc) but really bar maybe a couple of things they all play and perform the same way) expect a lot of disappointment with this game and if you got just the PS Plus edition you'll only know disappointment. DO NOT upgrade to the story content, you aren't missing anything.... there is no real game.. it's JUST terrible. ALL Over. It had potential. HAD being the operative word. If anthem was never released. THIS would be the anthem. I'm sure the developer thanks the gods that anthem exists or this would have surpassed it in terms of quality, scale and terrible gameplay. there is nothing redeemable here. nothing at all. it's not even open world, welcome to instanced 1999 rubbish even with all the tech available, it's basically just a drip fed game that has so few stuff in it, it's all just copy n paste with maybe slight different variations of the same stuff with different stats. This makes mobile micro transaction games blush.

The good: A new IP in a new generation of Playstation The bad: Repetitive game and lacking in personality, beyond the Blink-Blink of armor. The saturation of the glow effect will cause you to leave the game. It seemed like a Soul Like or a Hack and Slash but neither of the two genres does it well. Bad copy that takes the worst elements from God of War (2018), Kingdom under Fire: Circle of Doom and Too Human. Protagonists without personality, enemies without more personality if necessary. The story is a cliché of the gods and the war of good goes evil and… zzzz (boring) The Meh!: All the Hype has dissipated, this game is not good, not even to get the trophies, not even for the new generation, so you can save your money to buy another game. The magical SSD of the PS5 is a lie, this game will be released on the Xbox Series, please gentlemen of the press, do not invent ridiculous things. The nightmare of the photosensitive.

I had fun for a while, and found this to be an above average game. It did some neat things, and the worlds I found interesting for a time. I got quite a bit of fun out of this game, but near the end it got stale. And that may be on me, as I didn't have anyone else to really do the end game with, and have bad luck with random players. I think it just needs some armor expansion, and maybe an option to swap out stats on equipment, but I may be asking for too much with that request.

I wasted 25 bucks to buy an used copy of this trash game. One the most boring and repetitive game i've played in the last decade. Also spamming L3 to run every 10 seconds is not good aswell, it's obnoxious. Repetitive, repetitive repetitive. And the plot is weak as hell. Stay away from it.

For a game that boasts flashy affects, a semi good story, and a feel of the game after just an hour, that's all you get. There is hope for the story but the gameplay is very repetitive. When it comes to the loot that you want, you have to spend hours grinding for the piece of equipment that you want and once you finally get it, you'd be lucky to get one with decent stats for your current level.

I really wanted to love this game, I really did. The graphics look amazing but that's the only praise I can sing for it. There just isn't really much story here to grab hold of and that wouldn't normally be an issue if the gameplay was good, but even then the gameplay is just mindless slashing without much going for it. It's just either fetch quests or boss fights. I'm grasping at straw as to what to put here but the game itself is just so bland that I can't think of much. Story: 1 Just doesn't exist Sound: 5 nothing really stood out Graphics:8 The game really does look amazing Gameplay: 2 extremely repetitive and dull Final Score: 4/10 unless it comes to PS+ in the future, just look for a different game.

Great game.. It’s visually stunning, original story was bland, but they really put together a better story in the DLC. Good looting and leveling system. They actually give you more control over the loot you target which allows you to focus on enhancing your build piece by piece. This game reminds me of Warframe.

The game was already not excelling at all at what it has to offer, but Sony decided to make it worse by only giving PS+ users a lite version that doesn’t make sense at all. Sometimes I really do not get it! Not a big loss anyway, I was already starting to feel bored at the end of the tutorial.

To me godfall is the definitive meh game. It's not bad but not good either, combat is alright but nothing special(and a little confusing at first trying aim using a cross-hair in a strictly melee focused game) , and the cut-scenes somehow come off as ridiculous and overly serious at the same time. Like I said it's not a bad game but I also wouldn't recommend playing it.

This is free for PS plus, but it's a scam. They have the story locked so you can't play without purchasing. Scamming PS plus members. Thanks for allowing this Sony. Only part of the game is free and no one plays the end game.

Godawful. Didn't anyone involved in making this game actually give it a try? Why make this? Why publish this? If anyone gave these people any money then they should be ashamed of themselves.

I got it on ps for free and I still want a refund, If ya want a looter, play destiny, if ya want hack’n slash play Devil may cry, if ya want souls like, Bloodborne dark souls or hell even the other ps plus free mortal shell is better then this half baked over priced style over substance gacha waste of time

I think it's scummy to release a special demo version of the game on PlayStation plus. Just based upon the "challenger edition", the game isn't very good.

There is quite literally.... NOTHING... to do. Got this free with PS Plus, you start at a max level account with everything possible already unlocked, and you're only allowed to navigate around a tiny room. When you try to do something, it takes you to the PS Store and tries to make you purchase the £70 version. What actually is the point. The graphics and visuals are actually great but the fact you're getting just a walk around the room simulator makes this game.... ****

Awful game, no story, no tutorials, no idea what's going on. Borderline unplayable.

So the godfall challenger edition is on ps plus for dec and it is a seriously cut down version which apparently doesnt have the full campaign mode. Which GB make you pay £40 for. For which I give it a zero out of ten.

The truth is I wasted my time testing the incomplete ps plus game. It is a very bad game, that from the beginning you ignore the story, game mechanics poorly made, repetitive, repetitive soundtrack, it is a trial version.

Shameful practice to cut the game down to a demo of the endgame for ps+. I was actually interested in trying this out (thinking I would get the full version of the game), now I just want to actively avoid anything this company ever puts out in the future.
