With a lot of content, God Eater 2 : Rage Burst is a very good Action-RPG game, but it heavily suffers from it's visuals. Looks like it's a PS Vita Port with a few HD textures thrown at it.

A rather disappointing sequel, but still a decent entry for those who want to try out the “hunting” game genre.

Monster Hunter fans may just find enough to like. [Nov 2016, p.82]

This game has meh graphics and boring gameplay but the boss battles boost it's rating a bit.

The gameplay loop is pretty fun and rewarding... for the first 20 hours. Then it gets tedious with the enemies having massive health pools, and the gameplay centering around having the correct loadout rather than skill. I'd recommend grabbing it since it is a lot of fun at first, but don't expect to finish it.

While not a bad game it is mostly underwhelming. I like the characters but find the story not that great. Made even some correct predictions early on for some twists. While I liked the gameplay and battles it was a bit to easy especially earlier on. For clarification: I consider myself as average gamer. Also Toukiden is far superior in regard to this game. The God Eater franchise games are action adventures like Monster Hunter or Toukiden. You fight monsters here called Aragami and develop your character with equipment. You get items to forge better gear, improve your gear or add abilities aka improvements to it. The battles are separated into missions and you have a teammates that you can chose and also improve. There is more but this is just a set up. The story is set in an apocalyptic future. Mankind is heavily decimated as the Aragami have overrun the world. Those are nearly unbeatable by normal means. Only those gifted to wield God Arcs weapon can defeat the Aragami. Your main character that you can freely create passes the compatibility test and is introduced as newest member of the “Blood” unit an elite team. Here I stop to avoid spoilers. The story is not bad but I found it underwhelming. I foresaw even a few twists. It never grabbed me that much. The characters however are far better and I liked them. Presentation wise you see that it is an enhanced Vita game. I wont criticize this as it seems unfair. They did what they could and the graphics are not bad. The soundtrack is likable for me. Overall this was a small disappointment. The game could not grab me that much. I would recommend Toukiden Kiwami or Toukiden instead.

God Eater 2: Rage Burst arrives belatedly in the west market. Despite the age, the title is still enjoyable and fun, thnaks to a huge offer in terms of missions and game modes.

It gives you everything you need to feel like a Monster Hunter if you don’t own a Nintendo System. Unfortunately the mobile origins of the series shine through at all ends, while I have to think long and hard to remember a game that would have benefited from a better tutorial more so than Rage Burst.

God Eater 2: Rage Burst proves that without a shadow of a doubt, the series deserves a home on the console. The great depth, compelling combat and interesting enemies provide an fantastic counterpoint to the Monster Hunter brand, while also providing an exciting new sandbox for players to explore. Unfortunately, there are plenty of shortcoming associated with mediocre port work that prevent this iteration from fulfilling its full potential.

God Eater 2 is a very solid Action RPG, one of those that are becoming rare to find. Even though it has its shortcomings, it still offers a very enjoyable experience.

For anyone interested in the monster-hunting genre and is considering buying this game, ignore the negative scores. Nintendo fans, out of salt, have decided to bash this game. I have seen the Nintendo community encouraging members to give this game a bad review without even knowing a thing about this series. Truly pathetic and a disservice to the hard work that has gone into this game. The following top reasons: 1) It wasn't released on any of their consoles. 2) It is superior to any of the Monster Hunter titles thus far. 3) is has been far more creative and original than anything MH, and while it doesn't have maybe the depth that MH has, there is plenty to keep users busy and formulate thousands of builds and setups. Look, I love any game under the monster-hunting genre, and as someone who has played pretty much everything out there, I can say this game is solid and easily 8+/10. Fantastic soundtrack too and beautiful cinematic anime scenes. Buy it, and don't listen to the man children fanbase Nintendo has.

I played two monster hunting games before playing this, the first one was soul sacrifice (which I for some reason didn't enjoy that much), the second one was toukiden: kiwami (which I absolutely loved). In terms of gameplay, this game is easy to learn and very enjoyable. The only con In this game until now is the dreadful graphics it offers, the graphics on this look like they belong in the ps2 during 2001 - 2002 at most. It definitely doesn't belong on a 60$ game for the ps4, the graphics on this game cannot be compared to soul sacrifice and toukiden. I also wanna thank the creators for giving anyone who bought the disc version a redeemable code for god eater resurrection, which was a really nice thing to do by them :) .

Give it about 6-7 hours and you will have seen all there is too see. About 6 different enemy types that come in plenty of colors. Dialogue choices that you make have no bearing on anything so why even have dialogue trees? The level design is very basic...with invisible walls. You can see your squads inventory slots but still have no access after 10 hours in game. The weapon customization is deep, but good luck in getting 2 or 3 items out of the hundreds of items used for upgrading. I did like the bullet **** can design your own bullets and add effects. I had more fun making guns and sitting in the shooting range then grinding thru this game. Think of Monster Hunter world crossed with sword art online fatal bullet with less atmosphere and 100% more grindy than both of those games.
