#CFBPlayDontPay. EA turned one of most beloved franchise into a microtransaction nightmare. EA is a greedy company doesn’t care about the community just their pockets

Fairly decent new sports game series. I just still don't understand why these aren't live service games. This isn't 2010, and you cannot improve the graphics that much every single year. Make the game free, provide updates every few months, and print money with cosmetics, loot boxes, and battle passes.

CFB 25 does a really good job at bringing the franchise back and laying a groundwork for a series that has been dormant since 2013.

I have went ahead and preordered to get the early access and sort of wished I got the standard version cause that is what some of us is experiencing. Just a standard game with minor modifications with graphics and presentation but that’s basically it. I mainly play RTG, been a fan of the game mode since it started back in the day and man it has gotten bad. The returning of the HS feature I was ecstatic about but of course EA messed that up. The ai run logic for the ball carrier is TERRIBLE! Just another mediocre product from EA.

So glad to see this game come out. RTG got boring after a couple careers, gameplay was ok, some weird glitches. Not a bad game.

Just bad. I was elite at ncaa 13/14 on Heisman and all American at the start, but 25 is quite the jump from freshman to even varsity. Makes it zero fun to play. Like even with sliders up, my offensive line can’t block runs or passes and my wide receivers can’t get open. Only playing it to play it, but freshman mode is too easy, but varsity is too hard. I don’t play this every day, but varsity is ridiculous

CFB 25, a game that brings the iconic College Football setting back to video game format, does it well. Although the gameplay is good, Dynasty is dull, RTG is boring, and overall the game games are relatively mediocre and need time to develop, I hope that CFB 26 can rectify the issues with this game and turn the mediocre game modes into fully fleshed-out gaming experiences. But, College Football 25 has very good gameplay, but it needs work still, specifically blocking, and needs more physics, something the game lacks and something Madden lacks. With that said the gameplay here is much better than Madden. Overall, CFB 25 is a good introduction back into the CFB world but we need to wait till '26 to see if the game continues to improve.

Great game with many great options you can choose from to try and play I love being a coach and using teams to try and make a run and try and get the best record possible graphics realistic and the Fields are exactly like real life I know ncaa26 will be even better I give it a 8.4 out of 10

This game is a fantastic comeback for the series. Graphics are really good and gameplay is pretty solid overall. The game leaves some to be desired, especially with road to glory.. Road to glory is pretty bland and disappointing. Hopefully they can improve stuff in the next game but until then, this one is really solid.

Once you get past the feeling of nostalgia and really sink your teeth into the game it's all bones literally nothing to latch onto its definitely superior to madden 25 but I hope that the next release has the necessary depth to not only make the game fun but make it competitive and entertaining

This game has so many issues that I don’t know where to even begin… But let’s start with the tutorials… Which you don’t even have. You have to scan aQR code and go watch a video. You don’t even get to play through it yourself so you can understand what it actually means. Nothing “actual game play” is really explained either. I’ve always hated Madden and how it played in comparison to NCAA back in the day and now College Football 25 is just the college version of Madden. My favorite part of the game dating back over a decade ago now, was playing with my friends through a dynasty. We’d pick the trashiest teams, and try to take them the the National Championship. Recruiting, playing ranked teams, and grinding our way to the top. Now, it seems the team rating system is completely arbitrary. The tough teams were the ones you either played at their place and had a tough atmosphere, or they were rated way better than you and you had to play smart. Teams that were rated worse than you could put up a fight, but it was never a guaranteed loss for you. It’s like the game is completely pitted against you now, and not just an objective observer. You start to win big, your defense then completely falls apart all its own. You get the momentum on a big drive downfield, your receivers stop running their routes and watch DB’s, Linebackers, AND EVEN DEFENSIVE LINEMAN, jump their routes and pick it off. They just STOP AND WATCH THINGS UNFOLD. It’s crazy. I played D3 football. Not a brag. It’s nothing compared to D1 as far as skill, athletic ability, top tiered coaching. But as a D3 wide receiver, the thing drilled into my head more than anything else every single day was, NEVER GIVE UP YOUR POSITION. Wide receivers become DB’s when the ball is in the air and it’s not where they can catch it. They do not watch the worst unfold like they are completely unaffected by it. They do not let anyone just jump in front of them and take their ball. They are taught to go get it. Get to the highest point and catch it, go out to meet the ball and don’t wait on it. Don’t drift lazily backwards and wait for it to come to you. It’s absolutely maddening, pun intended, to watch that be what every single receiver does in this game. The exact opposite of what they are actually taught to do, especially at that level. I’m not saying it never happens, but I am saying that it is certainly not the standard. If any receiver does that consistently, you don’t see them play for very long. Or possibly even touch the field again.

This game is pretty good! I thank the Lord that I can say that about an EA Sports made game. It's visually stunning and nails each team's traditions! The gameplay is buggy sometimes, but not as much to make you rage like Madden 25. I recommend!

This is the first College Football game in over a decade and i gotta say, it’s a pretty good game, now it’s not the best game ever but it is definitely worth the purchase if your into football as much as i am. Gameplay is smooth, looks fantastic, way better than the past 12 or so Madden’s in my opinion just a solid game. College is way better than pro anyway.

I think we can't compare NCAA 14 with College football 25. NCAA 14 had years of experience innovating, making the game perfect for everyone who loves it. They had more than 5 years to make mistakes and fix them over the years.
I think there was so much of excitement with this new release, people thought that is gonna be the best new version of the NCAA 14. But they're just starting. College football 25 has so many areas of improvement, and this is just the beginning (hope so) so we expect to see this game at his best in the upcoming years and not just another Madden game.

This is a bs ass game y’all got it it rigged y’all be making players miss passes, qb’s over throwing players. When it’s a team computer feeli like should win the game will make your team miss every pass lose hell of yards make you fumble on a **** ass tackle. Y’all need to fix this bs asap just let the game be regular fam this **** weak as fck. I rather play the old college games

None of the gameplay issues from NCAA 14 are fixed. The engine is still dated and flat out bad. AI has somehow gotten worse. Two points for effort in presentation, but clearly that’s where all of the effort went. Do not buy until they give real development cycles and retire their terrible engine.

Fun gameplay with a whole lot of nostalgia. Great recruiting in Dynasty and Road to Glory. Falls a little bit flat in differentiating itself from Madden though.

This game is one of my favorites. It's my go-to game when I have downtime. I love how EA keeps adding things like new jerseys for teams when they wear them and making changes like fixing some glitches, like the spin glitch and the O-line not blocking. I hope they add FCS schools into the game soon.

College football finally returned, but after the initial nostalgia hit and the grace period ended, the problems began to show. The football still has some of the issues that Madden has been plagued with for years, and after a few seasons, the dynasty mode begins to feel samey. Team Builder being back is welcome, but only being allowed to use teams in online dynasties is a massive slap in the face to offline-only players. Besides all of this, it's nice to actually have college football games back, the gameplay is the best it's felt since the PS3 and X360 days, and if the devs and EA can learn and make proper adjustments, then maybe there is some hope for EA Sports in the future.

A surprisingly not awful entry by a developer who simply could not care about innovating or producing high quality games anymore. This is not perfect by any means, and the glaring problems that exist with Madden around consistency, repetitiveness and bugs generally exist here. But it provides some smidge of hope that they do have teams within EA who at least give a damn. If they got one thing right, it was capturing the essence of college football and the diversity around the country. It is quite impressive to see so many unique entrances and stadiums. The gameplay is also generally quite fun. I hope (perhaps naively) that they don't just keep this base and make minute improvements year on year and continue to churn out the same garbage. It would be nice to see them use this as a base to genuinely build a special franchise. God knows EA is overdue for it.

College Football 25 is an example of what happens when a good idea is poorly executed. It’s an exceedingly stupid and very frustrating game. Thank you EA, you’ve done it again, you imbeciles. In my time playing CF25, I focused on the road to glory mode where you control the fate of a created player through the trials and tribulations of being a student athlete. It’s not a new idea and while CF25 has some potential, ultimately stupid design and poor execution make the mode more frustrating than rewarding, along with completely illogical progression. I played as a quarterback in the Road to Glory mode, because it honestly doesn’t make much sense to play any other position in the mode. To be sure, EA tries some things here, like Stadium Pulse which tries to create the effect of boisterous college stadiums on game day, but overall rather than replication, the mode is more needless and very illogical frustration as in big moments the effect is basically that everyone on your team forgets what play your running. Listen, I get what they’re going for, but here is why it fails. I can understand a freshman or maybe a green sophomore being overwhelmed AT TIMES, but EVERY PLAY? No. The problem is that both player and team progression just isn’t factored in. Even as a junior, in visiting stadiums, playcalling becomes a spaghetti string morass of mass confusion in a way that is completely untenable and cheapens the game as well as the overall experience. I played through wondering if the experience would ever actually get better — it didn’t — and more than ever, I cursed the lack of competition in the football gaming space. Exclusivity has provided lacklustre Madden games for literally decades — just the same old crappy **** year after year — and CF25 does nothing to change the perception. Stadium Pulse is ham handed and the Road to Glory experience is so limited in terms of control that they should call the mode “Road to Deleting College Football 25 From My PlayStation 5”. Beyond the Road to Glory mode, playbooks trend to being very limited overall is the game, create a player is non existent, so customization is simply not a thing and — if you can believe it — provides a game that does less than NCAA Football games did in the early 2000’s when I good at least modify rosters to match the real world. I have to say, I had the good sense to stop playing EA Football games for easily a good ten or fifteen years and I came back because I thought, “the games can’t still be absolute BS, can they?” The answer is that they can be and they are. It doesn’t matter how many more pixels and RAM can be applied to the programming, Madden and CF25 are lazy, illogical work that is a product of having only one developer creating these games. It’s a state that impairs the market and I doubt that most gamers don’t even appreciate why anymore because it’s been two decades since there was any competition. There are literally kids out there that have never seen anything other than Madden. If all you’ve ever had access to is a Big Mac, I’m sure you’d never miss Filet Mignon, but if you did have a wider scope you would sure as hell recognize what’s a **** burger in a crappy box and what’s a curated meal with the potential to change your life. CF25 isn’t even a Big Mac, honestly. It’s the ****, basic Mickie D’s hamburger that doesn’t even warrant a box. **** EA.

NCAA 2014 is much better game. It's Road to Glory was far superior to this version and when you play the different modes in the new game the modes are to extreme. Freshman to easy and Varsity as a RB you get no blocking for you. Not happy with this game.

Too many issues for me to go any higher. It's a very nostalgic game and that's what it has going for it. However, EA proves time and again that they are not a quality company. Perhaps if they address the multitude of issues, I'll up the score. As it stands, it's barely a 4/10. Nice try though.

A travesty. Unfun. Cool having the real players, which I downloaded in a patch from the community every year since 2004. Failure or step back in every other aspect. I hate playing this game, hate the people who made it, and hate that it is such a travesy. EA never fails to be the worst company in the world. ****. What could have been. Instead we got Sack Simulator 2000. Every patch ruins the game even more. I hate this game so much, truly the biggest disappointment of my gaming life.

The wrapping is GREAT, but once you REALLY get into it things quickly fall into the legacy issues of football past not "NEXT GEN" gaming. From suction movement and restrictions to scripted outcomes and animations. Simply put, Feels like a Madden Mod with Low replay value other than the fact of Limited options available and competition.

Dynasty mode is completely broken. Can't edit any recruits. Can't create any recruits. Moving your player coach around to new low tier schools to build them up is impossible. Playing a long term dynasty is basically pointless.

Good graphics and game play is fun. But dynasty mode is severely lacking compared to NCAA14. No trophy room, poor coach creator, CPU coach info and history, lacking pregame presentation never says/shows conference standing and so on, no team history as dynasty progresses, no protected rivals, best head coaches tab and many more that was in NCAA 14. Got tired of everything not in NCAA 25 during dynasty that I stopped playing and went back to playing NCAA 14. To me all the graphic enhancements and addition of playoffs is not enough to keep playing NCAA 25 with lacking dynasty. Typical with EA they killed madden and will kill college football cause they will don’t care about dynasty players.

Y’know, I wanted to love this game, but once again I feel like I have been classically EA’d— intrigued by my own hope for what College Football 25 could be only to be COMPLETELY disappointed by the execution of what the game is. Ultimately, I think this game is an indictment of what a lack of competition in a space provides and in this case that is a game that is frustrating and stupid. I should know by now, I go back to original Madden games. I know that the undercarriage of EA offerings really hasn’t changed that much over the years. That’s why NFL 2K was such a bright spot in the early 2000’s — at least it offered a potential for better and possibly evolution. College Football 25 proves that it’s just another exercise of the same old lazy programming, bad mechanics, just propped up by slightly nicer graphics. It’s a shame. For those who buy this, the game is an exercise in frustration punctuated by a distinct lack of control. Play the “Road to Glory” and you’ll be frustrated by poorly conceived drills that are completely irrelevant to the actual gameplay of the mode itself. You’ll marvel as you are force fed poorly conceived gameplans and playcalling — over which you have mostly NO CONTROL— that are just intended to hamstring you, while removing any ability to really leverage skill. Game logic is poor. It’s the usual EA approach to providing crappy tools and unreal AI mechanics to create challenge rather than a system based on sound physics. It’s garbage. Having played other Madden and NCAA Football games it’s an approach that’s been de rigeur for EA for far too long. It’s consistent with their NHL property as well and we can only thank the heavens that NBA 2K thrived and survived to eradicate the lousy NBA Live franchise from the face of existence. I wish the NFL would diversify their rights — I can only imagine what 2K Sports could do a couple of decades later with a football property. Until there is a competitive offer, it looks like there will continue to be only these types of unsatisfactory and poorly rendered properties from EA. It’s sad that they so continually leverage the hope and love for sports like football and hockey into these lousy and repetitive / redundant failures of execution. I feel bad for the generations now that have grown up with these BS offerings while never realizing that they’re being force fed the same old garbage. Burn in hell, EA. You **** rocks.

Dynasty is incredibly shallow (and currently broken). Kicking is awful. The game artificially inflates difficulty by turning your AI controlled players into morons. The game forces **** make the game more difficult. I wanted to like it, but the game **** **** once the honeymoon period wears off, and it's going to continue to **** because EA has no competition. Unless there are vast improvements, this will be the last EA sports game I will ever buy.

It’s a reskin of madden but with faster gameplay. Frostbite engine is killing this game. No innovation and animation dependent gameplay. The A.I still has no idea how to create good angles to tackle.

Overwhelming number of bugs make the game a frustrating disaster. New unique things pop up every game, from the scoreboard disappearing, to not being able to scroll through pages of only certain playbooks, to your audibles just not coming up sometimes, it is an unplayable mess. Offensive line play is a total joke, you don't have time to throw anything but the quickest of routes, and if you try play action you are often sacked before the fake is finished.
Super Sim defense almost never gets a stop regardless of the relative strength of your opponent. You could be a 99 defense playing an FCS team and if you Sim they're going to get 40+.

bug filled mess that gets worse with every patch. The gameplay is awful, unfun cheese that simply gives the cpu every advantage under the sun to create the illusion of difficulty. Interceptions, sacks and the worst line of scrimmage gameplay I've seen in a football title in a long time. NCAA 14 was more fun.

I think it's clear that the version of Dynasty we are playing is basically in beta. In true EA fashion, however, they sold/released it as "feature complete". There is no way this mode was even properly tested considering all the bugs and lack of polish. My go forward prediction is that the Directors/execs will see no tangible benefit towards addressing or improving Dynasty mode, and instead pressure the team to continue investing all efforts into team builder (or the casino to make them even more money). The overall lack of customization, inability to edit recruits/jersey numbers and just staggering lack if polish with animations and dynasty mode is both shameful and mind numbing.

When I first opened this game and started playing it the experience was nice I had fun with the denisty mode and the RTG was a little lacking but was overall enjoyable of course there was some bugs and missing features but since I paid for the early access I thought those things would be ironed out when the full game was released. Well, sadly that did not happen. The more I play this game the more I hate it. The honeymoon faze of the game is great and fun but after about 50 hours the games rushed development lacking features, bugs, glitches, physics, and some of the worst ai I have seen in a video game start to really show and they make the game almost unplayable. First with the missing features. NCAA 14 has some much in the RTG and Dynasty modes that College Football 25 should have this includes, No high school in RTG, lack of position in RTG, No recap of schools in Dynasty (this was where you could look at any school in the game and see who is there rivals, how many national, and conference titles they have, their overall win lose record, schedule, key players, and injures), No trophy locker showing of all the trophies the you have won as a player or coach, in game record breaking, good replays, good halftime show, recap of other games in game, realism, no ATH dropdown menu, changing players appearance, or overall rating in dynasty, lack of coach apparel and terrible ranking system. The bugs and glitches include Conferences not playing in conference games during the regular season, Regular games during the conference championship weekend, schools playing more or less than 12 games in a regular season, random crashes, center throwing the football behind the QB, 90% of fumbles are not fumbles but the game does not review the play and when you do use a review half the time it crashes the game, Sometimes overtime does not work and crashes the game. The games AI is terrible here is some examples, O-line men just let defenders run past them, WRs just let DBs pick the ball of and do not try to stop it. DBs waiting for the ball to go to the WR instead of picking it off, bad tackling ai. Punters not punting fast when pressure is coming, to many roughing the kicker calls in game, Referees seem like they are paid off with the number of random flags they throw for nothing, or when they do not throw a flag when it is a blunt penalty, If a defensive player has a man route with a WR and they rush the QB but you switch them they will not sack the QB, DBs will not dive for the football and will just put their hand but like they have a question when you push the button that does that in every other football game I have ever played. Other problems I have with this game, the new kicking system ****, the controls for the defense that has been the same since I've started playing football games is changed and it's not a good change. O line does not block and the time you have to throw is 3 seconds, not being able to change sliders or difficulty in game, terrible routes, no cutscenes in RTG, bad couching changes that does not show the former job of the coach, lack of customable options in RTG and Dynasty like making your face and not having to pick a preset its 2024 get with the program EA. In conclusion this game is bad. We should not praise EA for making a game that could not fail since the last game came out 11 years ago, we should instead ask EA how they made a game this hollow and stripped of content when they had over 3 years to develop this game and over 11 to come up with new content. This is another slap in the face of sport fans that just want to relax and play a good sports game, and they keep getting away with it and make billion off of it because of the packs in UT and the more expensive price tag on video games. With a critic score of 85 you would think it would be better then a game below that score like idk Fallout New Vegas that they gave a 84 which caused the team at Obsidian not to get a bonus from Bethesda and caused us not to have another great Fallout game from Obsidian but I digress this game is bad do not buy it. It would be better to just pay an old xbox 360 and play one of the ncaa games insead of this mistake ****. I thought for once the evil EA would do gamers right and release a good sports game for the first time in over ten years and I ask myself know what did I expect its EA im talking about they do not care about you they care about money they are evil and we should stop sending money on their games and in there games I know I will stop. I learned my lesson with EA there is no winning for Gamers. What we need is competition in this space of gaming till then they will not improve the game 2/10 positive, it was fun for the first 30 hours. it works, I get to play college football which is fun and better than the NFL. I didn't wait 11 years for this garbage.

This is my first trip to college Football, I am more the NFL guy, but somehow this game was interesting for me. Saw some youtube reviews before and I was convinced. So I stepped into the college world, chose the only one I have a connection really to and now I find myself already in my 5th season. The recruiting is fun, I think it could be even deeper, the graphics are good and the gameplay feels good. But boy ohh boy playing Defense is a thing of learning...I took a while since I find myself a perfect slider set which works. Before it felt like my DB`s are still playing **** is clearly a tough thing playing Defense, close and low scoring games I can count on one hand. But satisfying when it works then and you can stop the other team from getting new 1st Downs. Not sure if I switch to Madden now, I think I stay on college for a while.
What could be added? A bit more side stories within the Dynasty Mode, that your college guys visit parties, you hear from that and so on, how would you react, I mean it is college ;) What would you do with a Johnny Manziel and so on...

EA has carried over all the problems from their Madden franchise which culminates into an unpolished low-effort mess. After a one month honey moon phase with this game, there are clear problems with it that EA will never get to address. While big pass plays and juke moves are satifying while playing; broken coverages, offensive lineman play, and frankly just the worst tackling system ever programed into a football game heavily overshadows the small good of the game. Defenders will claims that it is realistic to the sport, but at the repetative instances where a defensive lineman go unblocked or a cornerback totally forgets his cover pattern makes that realism argument not work at all. Majority of my playing time was on the Heisman difficulty (the highest one) and just believe that all these issues happened because I was playing on the highest diffculty and I **** at the game. However, as a lowered the difficulty to All-American and Vasity, the problems still persist. Qbs at Varsity difficulty are still exposing the broken AI coverages and AI tackling and blocking is still as garbage as the Heisman difficulty. As it pertains to dynasty, its another failure. EA could've just copied NCAA 14's dynasty mode word-for-word. Instead, just a hallow mess. No mass subsitutions, sim logic that makes no sense, rankings that make no sense, less accessibilty to stats of players and teams, new wear and tear system doesn't work as intended, etc. Road to glory is horrible as well. Coach play logic makes no sense, week-to-week conversations with coaches, teammates, fellow students, and NIL sponsorships feels lifeless through text message, and no high school gameplay doesn't really feel like a journey anymore. EA Sports delayed this game a whole another year just for a high past Madden reskin.

this game is terrible. The gameplay is so inconsistent. DBs play the ball better in the air than ALL receivers. Even though there are no X factors, the abilities are still way to OP. My 97 speed receiver is getting outran to the ball on a go route where he has the man beat by 2 steps (DB has 89 speed btw) and the DB somehow manages to magically gain speed and catch a perfectly placed ball because of the random speed boost. The offensive line on every team is absolutely pathetic. I was playing as Alabama and the offensive line gave up 8 sacks to Tulane, and no I wasn't taking forever in the pocket either. My 89 ovr field general QB with 90 accuracy across the board is missing wide open receivers on a go route consistently, probably a little over half the time. I had a lot of fun at the start of this, but now it is getting repetitive. Start a dynasty, pick recruiter, after 3-4 seasons you are recruiting 4-5 starts all day long, repeat the cycle. I played 3 RTG games as Florida State and in two games had been sacked 15 times, so I quit. I have tried so hard to enjoy this game but it is absolutely pathetic. The only good thing about this game is that the QBs with higher speed than the DEs can usually actually outrun them. Receivers are constantly getting stuck on linebackers and safetys and will wind up throwing a pick. The offensive line will block the wrong person or nobody at all on multiple occasions, and I'm not talking about an animation, I'm saying that the lineman will basically block each other and not the defender. EA IS TERRIBLE.

Yikes. Was really looking forward to this game. It is downright awful at times. So disappointed. Comments all over social media indicate the only way to fix it is to adjust sliders because EA was completely off the mark. And then there’s the scripted loses in dynasty. Not a fun game and this is coming from someone with countless hours on NCAA 14, older NCAA titles and recent Maddens.

EA purely banking on nostalgia to have this game succeed. Once that wears off... you take a step back and truely see how average this game actually is. My freshman QB that led Air Force to a MWC title and a bowl win against Maryland. Had to fight for his starting job the following season. I've had games where I've gone up 35 pts in the 1st half. Just to get pulled and nearly lose. Crowd graphics are ancient. The game is just... Meh..
