For the price of a Coke at the local coffee shop, The Golems of Amgarrak has enough to fill an evening, playing frantically to survive the succession of battles. That's good, it rained tonight. It performs its role honestly, given the absence of major claims... But we still hope something much more substantial to wait until the release of Dragon Age 2!
A class BioWare download: short, pointless and missing everything that made the original interesting.
A boring story, slowdown issues and a difficulty that will leave many players bald after they pull out their hair is enough to describe your time with Golems of Amgarrak. Even at $5, it is way overpriced for the content you receive.

Some challenges do not wait for you to be ready, they simply ask who you are when you face them. Dragon Age: Origins – Golems of Amgarrak is one of those DLCs that catches you off guard. It is short, intense and surprisingly focused, almost like a concentrated dose of everything that makes the darker side of Dragon Age compelling. From the moment you step underground, the atmosphere is heavy and unsettling, and it becomes clear that this journey leans more toward tension and survival than heroic spectacle.Again, yes, playing it in 2025 makes many things feel extremely dated, old. Nostalgia can’t really be used as a crutch for too long, yet at the same time, playing it doesn’t feel like a burden. The story is simple, but I think that works in its favor. Instead of big political conflicts or emotional farewells, you get a self-contained mystery that pushes you deeper into dangerous territory without wasting time. It feels like a side chapter that exists to challenge the player more than to expand the lore in dramatic ways, and that gives it a different flavor compared to the other DLCs. What really stands out is the difficulty. The enemies hit hard, and the encounters feel deliberately designed to keep you on edge. It is the kind of challenge that asks you to adjust your strategy, rethink your builds and pay attention to every skill you use. That tougher approach was nice, since it made even small victories feel earned. If you like combat that demands effort, this DLC delivers exactly that. Visually and tonally, Golems of Amgarrak nails the oppressive feeling of exploring abandoned dwarven ruins. The environments are cold and mechanical, the creatures look unsettling and the pacing keeps pulling you forward. Even if the narrative does not go very deep, the mood alone makes the experience memorable. By the end, I felt like pushing through a harsh but rewarding detour, one that tested my party in a way the base game rarely did. It may not be the most emotional or lore-heavy DLC, but it offers a tight, challenging adventure that is perfect for players who enjoy the combat system and want something more demanding. It is a tough ride, but a satisfying one.

And another DLC with weapons and armor. And one location. Absolutely not remembered

Si bien disfrute el juego, no tiene relevancia en la historia y sinceramente no veo el punto del DLC. A futuro solo vi el jefe final en DA2 que ni siquiera es la gran cosa.

Although it doesn't shine for narrative depth nor interaction, Golems of Amgarrak proves to be a fine DLC, fully capable of assuring a short but intense gaming experience. If you don't mind its clear tendency towards action, you'll surely appreciate the strength of the enemies presented by the developers.

Loved this DLC completely Would have given 10-10 if not for cost vrs size of DLC at release Its probably dropped now so if you can get this DLC for $2.00 or less its money well spent

Golems of Amgarrak was definitely one of the better DLCs produced for Dragon Age, it was pretty enjoying to play however it failed to really bring anything new and had a very inconsequential story that was far to easy to see where it was going. At the very least it is worth a single playthrough but it wouldn't be so bad if you had to miss out.

The DLC was really just so-so. Was short and the characters didn't really have much depth. I guess the main point of the DLC was for the challenging boss fight at the end but it was really just tedious more than anything. 5/10 just some boring side quest with boring characters and boring fights.

I really don't know what was the point of this DLC. It felt like a big waste of time. The last fight was the only challenge I had the whole time and amounted mostly to chasing after the opponent. The whole thing felt cheap and rushed.
