Dodonpachi Resurrection is the best top-down shooter I've ever played, and being a newbie at bullet-hell shooters, I've had a ton of fun with it.

There's a lot more to Dodonpachi too, like the absolute spot-on relative control system, the excellent brand new music for the iPhone mode, many OpenFeint achievements to unlock, multiple options and difficulty levels, hidden modes, and more. But the bottom line is that if you're a fan of shooters in any way, you'll want to pick up Dodonpachi Resurrection.

For a company whose fans frequently call them a "god" of the genre, Cave is quickly lording over the iPhone's shooter selection.

If you have the right device, and if you don't mind the price, then you must play Dodonpachi Resurrection.

It's just so devastatingly addictive - and the fun doesn't even truly start until you've got some competitive friends on the in-game leaderboards.

Its high price and short play-time may put some of you off, but any serious shooter fans out there will be doing themselves a disservice by passing on this. It's a blast… quite literally!

It's a gorgeous game, and one that runs at a framerate speedy enough to justify why it doesn't support older models of iPhone and iTouch.

It feels as if it's a step beyond Espgaluda II in terms of the depth the game provides, making it the easier of the two to get into if you're new to the genre or just can't take the massive enemy reign of fire that constantly bombards you.
