But despite that brevity of gameplay, DuckTales: Remastered is a fun flashback with modern flair for both those that quack-attacked in its 8-bit incarnation or those totally new to the duck tales of Scrooge McDuck.

A masterclass in classic platformer design, DuckTales: Remastered may be over quickly, but it's a nostalgic trip that will certainly inspire a few smiles. [Issue#104, p.83]

In the end, DuckTales Remastered is a great modern take on the now-classic NES game.

Why waste your time with 'Corey In The Hose' when you could be playing A much better Disney game instead. This game is A fantastic remake of the original NES game which retains it's original gameplay to near perfection.

Best game ever made. Its a masterpiece too good for this cruel universe. Its a thousand times better than whatever crap kids these days are playing. Everyday when I work or go to school I think of this masterpiece and how it impacted this depressing world. Kids these days have their fortnites and their red dead redemptions on their ps5s. I have ducktales on the Nes and it is infinite times better than those horrible games. Its not the best game of the world or universe its the best game of the multiverse. This game cured my sadness and i love it because it doesn't deserve to be in this unforgiving and selfish planet. It doesnt deserve a ten rating it deserves an infinite rating thats how good it is.

An enjoyable trip down memory lane – but a lane that has had a few new architectural additions that have not all been sympathetically worked into the landscape.

DuckTales Remastered makes some minor missteps in the attempt to revive one of the greatest NES games of all time, but then again, the latter is a pretty tough act to follow. Mechanically, the game holds up great, and I had a smile on my face nearly the entire time. So long as you can overlook a few fundamental issues, old and new fans alike shouldn't miss re-experiencing this lovingly crafted classic.

Wayforward Technologies has done an excellent job of taking an old classic and giving it a fresh update for a new generation.

If anything, I'll blame DuckTales Remastered's shortcomings on the current state of digital pricing. It's unfortunate that a short but near-perfect game had to be weighed down with so much extraneous material, seemingly for the sake of padding out its length to justify a premium-priced digital release.

Just relived my childhood. This was the first game I beat when I was in second grade back in 1990. I loved this game and was thrilled to see it on sale for 50% off. Great remake! The controls are crisp. The graphics are fun and so is all the voice acting. This is my first review on this site but I just had to give a positive shout out to DuckTales. WARNING! You WILL sing the themes song nonstop once you begin playing the game:)

I'm a **** for nostalgia. This sidescroller takes me back. It's been beautifully remastered and if you're a fan of sidescrollers in general, this holds up to the others that are out there. It's not as innovative as Braid or Shadow Complex, but it's classic SNES style fun.

A sweet attempt to try and bring Duck Tales to HD, the concepts are still the old ways. This game runs off lives, and the gameplay itself is very much outdated. The most annoying part of this game one all lives are gone you actually do fall back to the home screen. This actually does make it very hard to progress and unlock achievements. The game itself runs off 3 buttons: the analog/D-pad, jump, and pogo stick. My big disappointment is that they didn't update with options to change the controls. I would like to make the pogo stick work with RT, but the game doesn't give those types of options. You in fact have to press start and click on the option just to skip the major long cut scenes. I want to like this game with it's retro style, rocking soundtrack and voice acting, and fresh toned graphics, but all the outdated mechanics take away some of the enjoyment.

The problem of this remaster is that, while the level design is still top notch, some of the other game play design were not updated. The whole concept of lives and if you lose all lives you lose everything is literally outdated! I've always been against the concept of losing all progress and this game just does that, unfortunately! What was once the "standard" in platforming games back then was never a good one to begin with! Way Forward should have made the game more forgiving and allow some sort of check points and keep the diamonds you've accumulated until you lose all your lives. The game encourages you to meticulously search the stages for treasures, but punishes you with cheap one hit kills that can ruin your harvest! Any developers should reward you for playing their games, not frustrate you by making the time you've played obsolete! Initially, I was going to give this game an 8.5, but the ending sequence ruined the game for me. Aside from the fiasco that is the final stage and the points mentioned above, the game has been remastered to perfection! Too bad Way Forward took some weird liberties with the final stage. Their efforts should have been spent elsewhere!
SummaryDuckTales Remastered has seen the development team take the levels and layout from the original 1989 release as a foundation before expanding upon them to significantly enhance the gameplay experience but where this update truly impresses is its graphics and sound. All of the visuals from the 8-bit game have been beautifully re-created a... Read More
