lmao all these people complaining that you can't control the digimon during battle "hurr durr you don't actually play the game" these people don't realize the point of the game or the fact that your job is to raise the digimon to fight on their own like really, they have no idea what they are talking about.

The game is wonderful, it indeed feels like an upgrade of the old Digimon V-Pets that are now either fairly rare and expensive or hoarded by collectors ergo not really available to the public. I enjoyed discovering the "secrets" that would allow you to raise many different creatures in the game and even though this was frustrating at times it still felt like a genuine V-Pet. Not too unfair and not excessively easy either. The only bad points of it would be the following: The game pacing is relatively quick, I didn't particularly mind this when I was raising my Digimon but when I had to be ready for a match it was such a hassle You can not have that many digimon because the amount of memory (each Digimon depending on species and generation tends to consume different amounts of memory to be kept) is airly low and even when you get to beat the "story mode" of the game it is still considerably low, therefore you must decide which Digimon to keep and which ones to release or sacrifice (should that be an option). I felt the amount of Digimon to raise was lower then it should have and would've prefer to have access to a few other Digimon but even with this I found the game to be quite enjoyable Good Points: The game pace is faster than the V-pets' are supposed to be, this means you can make your digimon evolve or become stronger in fairly little time and have them battle ready at any given point The password system: Even when Nintendo took the Wi-Fi down you can still have battles with your friends world wide thanks to a password system that allows other players to battle different teams owned by real players A nice post-game bonus! When you start the game you can have 3 Digimon battle on matches or against other players but you can not control any of them. When you get to beat the game and fulfil the Digimon Encyclopedia you gain control of all your digimon in a battle (one at a time) which honestly felt quite rewarding Evolving the digimon is a really fun experience once you know/have discovered the requisites and every time they "die" and get to be reborn as eggs they become stronger. You can hunt several species of Digimon in their natural habitats as if they were wild animals for you to tame, the time of the day/night and the season determines where will a species be located, this would mean that you would rarely find the same digimon over and over in the same maps as the years (in game years) pass.
