Old-timey fun, Demon Tides fills a long-awaited spot: an adventure/platforming game who understand its genre and zeitgeist. An hidden gem.

An excellent 3D platformer that rather than just trying to copy Nintendo has plenty of ideas of its own, with some thrilling freeform action.

Demon Tides is an amazing, incredibly expressive 3D platformer that might just be one of the best in its genre. It can be janky and imperfect, but it's so fun to move around in that a feeling of joy will shine through at all times. It's hard not to have a smile on your face while playing Demon Tides, whether you're exploring, gliding through the air, or tearing your hair out to a Mr. Mint Trial.

incredible game, dragged down by some of the most terrible camera work i have ever seen in a videogame and boring bossfight that i wished to just be able to skip every time, an other thing i cannot comprehend is the lack of ability to just restart some of the time trials for gears in the last part of the game, you need to just wait for the timer to end or move away from the area, without this elements this game would have been a 10/10

One of the most brilliant platformers in recent years. It feels like a mix of Mario and The Legend of Zelda Windwaker. You have a big open world with lots of fun challenges and creative platforming with gameplay that feels rewarding. Game deserves more attention than it's getting.

There’s not a lot to unpack here. The story is pretty simple, the dialogue gets kind of corny, and the premise is equally stripped down. But this game shines so bright once you actually start playing. You’ve got a host of amazing moves to master. The controls are perfectly fluid and responsive. Plus, the level design is the perfect vessel for mastering said moves. Chaining together skills feels amazing, while traversing the world is speedy and satisfying. Demon Tides is a pure 3D platformer, with little in the way of fat or gristle. All that means is you’ve got nothing between you and all that unfiltered action. Better yet, there’s so much to experience once you start. If you’re looking for the next amazing 3D platformer, Demon Tides should be at the very top of your list.

Demon Tides is a 3D platformer that'll be hard to top in 2026, with exquisite movement, tons of variety, and so many ways to kit out Beebz.

What makes this game special is personality and freedom. It trusts you to push its systems. It rewards curiosity. It lets you look at a distant structure and decide how you want to approach it, not how the designer expected you to.

Following the success of Demon Turf, Demon Tides expands on the 2.5D's formula in an ambitious pirate-themed 3D adventure that captures the wow factor of going from the fifth to the sixth generation of video game releases.

Demon Tides is a confident leap into open world design for Fabraz, delivering fluid, expressive 3D platforming that makes exploration across Ragnar's Rock consistently rewarding. While its comedic storytelling and boss encounters struggle to leave a lasting impression, the core movement system, generous player freedom, and smart difficulty balance make it a standout for genre fans who value mechanical depth over narrative flair.

Demon Tides is packed with strong ideas, but the execution doesn’t always stick the landing. Movement and level design entertain, though they occasionally lack finesse and inspiration. A solid, accessible platformer with clever touches, yet not without its frustrations.

In an era where many video games seem obsessed with realism, gigantic worlds teeming with icons, and increasingly expansive yet rigid experiences, it's refreshing to find a title that reminds us of something essential: simply moving well is still, in and of itself, profoundly fun. The 3D platformer was born and established around this idea, but over the years it has lost prominence to heavier structures and more conservative designs...

Nice Game, An Awesome and Beautiful 3D Platformer. Reminds Me Bubsy 3D and Super Mario 3D World...

I really enjoyed my time with Demon Tides, but fundamentally there is absolutely no reason this received the open‑world treatment. It is just a bunch of levels spaced out across an ocean, with nothing in between, making the traversal part of the game feel very boring. It neither makes sense narratively nor mechanically fun. I simply wished more meaningful exploration and world building for a modern open world game. Add in a very annoying camera, some bloated levels (without checkpoints), repetitive boss fights, a bad map and very weak combat in general, and you’ve got a worse sequel than Demon Turf (which I scored a 9/10 back in the day). Aesthetically, I also prefer Demon Turf. The highlights here are the banger of a soundtrack and the movement in general. For platformer fans this is a treat - but this could have been so much more.
