While the genre itself hasn't evolved much in the past twenty years, there is still an undeniable satisfaction that one derives from building and watching Goldberg machines run. For only ten dollars, puzzle fans and creative types can find a lot to enjoy here.

Crazy Machines Elements might turn your crank for a day or two, but only if your enthusiasm for Rube Goldberg-style mechanical oddities knows no bounds. [Dec 2011, p.71]

Crazy Machines Elements is a solid puzzle game that lets you relive the glory days of playing Mouse Trap or perhaps discover for it the first time.

There's a ton of content here, and the various challenges are a blast to figure out. If you are the type of gamer who enjoys going through a game of this type puzzle by puzzle, Elements will engross you from start to finish. If you're not patient enough to deal with a few clunkers (or solve at least 50 stages before getting to the real meat of the game), you're better off elsewhere.

The game as a whole is a charming package suitable for all ages. With its user friendly interface, addictive gameplay, generous number of levels and multiple modes, Crazy Machines Elements is worth the download.

Crazy Machines Elements succeeds in being a good title but not necessarily a great sequel. The core concept is still good, and the additional tools help the game feel fresh.

A game with mixed results. It is a very original idea that we've seen few times in console, with almost infinite possibilities, but the adaptation lacks something. As a puzzle game it is difficult and has enough variety, but the absence of clues or help makes it frustrating sometimes.

A descendent of classic PC-puzzler The Incredible Machine, almost 20 years down the line, and Crazy Machines: Elements manages to be the worse game. There is some enjoyment to be had in the unlockable challenge mode, but most of the experience lacks real creative freedom and is let down by control issues.

Crazy Machines Elements gives me a similar feeling where I just want to play with the pieces and see what can be built. But, like a parent worried their child will choke on the board game's tiny pieces, Crazy Machines Elements doesn't trust players with all of its tools from the start, preventing many from ever finding the fun lurking just beneath the surface.

SummaryIn grand Crazy Machines tradition, players must create wacky chain reactions using different parts and accomplish the tasks set out in their mission, from knocking vases over to blowing out candles.
