One of my favorite games when I was a child, and when I revisited it, my memory was not fogged by nostalgia. I originally played Crashlands on mobile but then replayed it on pc (both with and without controller). 7 years later, it still makes me chuckle with its somewhat funny dialogue. Its moba-style combat is surprisingly fun, even when it feels to get repetitive. Each creature feels so unique and it was so fun revisiting each enemy and slowly conquering each tier of enemies. The simple inventory management does not hinder the game at all. By getting rid of the least enjoyable parts of a survival game (inventory space, hunger meters, etc.) the game can focus on combat, crafting, and top-down building. While most of the crafting is funiture and materials, it is alwyas fun unlocking something new. It is even more exciting when the new item turns out to be a bomb, gadget, trinket, or pet upgrade. This game will have me hooked on it for many hours, being a great way to spend many hours of my time if I am bored.
This game does have one major downside. The amount of grind-fest that this game puts you in is a lot. Some quests make you walk for a very long time, some items require you to deconstruct a lot of the same material and enemies, and fighting a powerful creature is more a test of endurance than skill. While this grinding might be a turn-off for many people, I do not mind the grinding too badly and have been able to enjoy the rest of the charm put in the game.
Also, one last thing to note, this game is a lot easier on mouse and keyboard then controller or mobile. It does feel unfair slightly in that aspect, but that is not that big of a deal,

A 3rd person birds-eye view game of walking around fetching materials so you can build stuff, so you can fetch more and better materials to build better stuff to fetch more and better materials... well, you get the idea. Sometimes you gather materials from static positions, and sometimes it's from monsters' cooling corpses. THE GOOD: - You can play co-op with a friend. - The dialog is pretty funny. - It was fun for a few hours! THE BAD: - This game got really tedious after a few hours. Uninstall! - The quests are very simple fetch quests. Get X of this or Y of that. Plant a sign there. They clearly go on forever as you receive a new quest the moment you finish the old one. - You have to hit monsters all day long to kill them, dodging their attacks the whole time. This is even more tedious that walking everywhere trying to find materials to harvest. - The boss monsters aren't more interesting to fight, they just take longer. Much longer... THE UGLY: - The quests are not always very clear. - E.g. you have to plant a flag in a very particular spot for it to achieve the mission objective, but when you return to the NPC they just refuse to accept that you succeeded and won't clarify what you you've done wrong. - E.g. you get told to go to a place but it doesn't appear on your map. You have to zoom out to be able to see the destination, but this is not obvious to a beginner.

Looks good, sounds good, its decently long (35h for me on hardest difficulty), humour is good. One minus point for kinda buggy quest markers and occasionally confusing dialogue and directions. I recommend you try the harder difficulties for that dark souls feeling.

Игра повторяется, опять искать ресурсы и что то делать. Как не странно но игра по своей концепции интересна так же как и сюжет.

Crashlands is a phenomenal Action Sandbox Rpg, that any gamer should try out if they want to have a great and wacky time. While the story may not be the most interesting ever created, the humor of the game will leave you in stitches quite often. This humor makes the main character very personable and adds a lot to the gameplay. The game centers around gathering resources and building everything from decorations to new weapons that come with randomized special abilities. The gameplay is fun and though, you won't be expecting to one shot anything until you have put a solid amount of time into the game. The game has a lot to do, and it seldom ever gets boring. Crashlands is visually beautiful the art design looks wonderful, very similar to a modern-day cartoon which adds a lot to the atmosphere. Overall Crashlands is one of the best games I have played on PC in a long time and maybe my personal favorite indie game of al time because of how well developed the game is. Cons The soundtrack is forgettable.

Absolutely engrossed in this thing every time I boot it up (on mobile or PC). The music and the vibe of the exploration, and just general interactions within the game, make for an amazing combination that just makes you feel good for even looking at the game in action. Big fan of the art style, as well. Overall -- I'm not very interested in crafting games, but this was so much more than that. It's an exploration adventure game, with a humorous narrative, action-RPG systems, and a penchant for making me smile the whole time that I'm playing. Heavy recommendation on both mobile and PC. Well worth your time and money.
