As a racing game for kids this is ideal, with easy to pick up and play controls and a variety of fun modes. However, with the removal of the sandbox style areas there is not much depth on offer here and just playing the same missions or multiplayer modes over and over again will rapidly lose its appeal. As a movie tie-in this game is certainly fun while it lasts but do not expect it to hold your attention, or that of your kids if you deign to give them a go, for long. Cars 2 is more Ka-chow than Ka-ching, but not by much.
Driving in Cars 2 feels fantastic, and the somewhat original mechanics offer an experience you'll not find elsewhere. It's definitely more engaging in multiplayer however, and I'd recommend you play it with at least one other person.
It's not up to Mario Kart standards, but for a family get together it's an entertaining alternative that sits well with all ages.

Played this last year ,Game is decent , Cool Levels to play, movie wise is ok too but they ruined the franchise at the point in my own opinion.

My Review – Cars 2: The Video Game – 10/10 I gave Cars 2: The Video Game a 10 out of 10 because it delivers a surprisingly fun and polished experience that goes beyond being just a movie tie-in. The mix of racing and spy-themed gameplay keeps things fresh, and the variety of missions makes the game feel exciting from start to finish. The locations are diverse and colourful, the controls feel smooth and responsive, and the progression system gives you a real reason to keep playing and upgrading your cars. Multiplayer and co-op add even more replay value, making it great to play alone or with others. The game perfectly captures the charm, humour, and style of the Cars universe. Even with minor flaws, the fun, variety, and overall quality easily outweigh them. This is why Cars 2: The Video Game is a 10/10.

Cars 2 for the 3DS is just a mediocre port of a mediocre DS game. The game looks disgustingly bland and dry, looking like a poor fan-made port rather than an official game by an experienced developer. The music and sound effects are pathetically bad, being compressed as hell. The driving physics are solid at best, but terrible usually. The cars feel way too heavy or way too light. Overall, the game is a rushed, disappointing port that could've been much, much more.

Thankfully, I was given the task of trying out Cars 2: the Video Game and each of the major concerns I had were quickly dismissed and replaced by an outstanding amount of entertainment. This isn't to say that there weren't any issues, but rather that the issues are relatively minor, outmatched by enjoyable gameplay and all wrapped up in a family friendly bow.

Despite the rough spots, Cars 2 still presents an enjoyable experience because none of the issues impact the core game. Whether you're a hardcore Cars fan or just looking for a kid-friendly racing game, Cars 2 is sure to please. It's perfectly tuned for the younger set, while at the same time packing in enough quality gameplay to keep things entertaining for all the older gamers out there. In short, if you happen to be a parent with kids, this one is right up your alley.

A surprisingly well done and fun game, which would have better benefited from a full story mode and online play.

Overall then Cars 2 is a loveable excursion into the world of Pixar. Built with all the efficiency and character that you'd expect from the movie studio's cinema work, it demonstrates that what may not work so well as a film (unless of course you are six, in which case Cars is the best thing ever) does just fine in the style of a knockabout children's action racer. Grown ups can play as well.

Disney's movie tie-in is quite a surprise. Although it has very little to do with the movie by Pixar, it's quite entertaining and enjoyable, especially for gamers of younger ages.

This is a great movie game. The graphics look almost as good as the movie and the gameplay is almost as good as the Mario Kart games. The difficulty is a bit harder though.
