With so many vehicle parts, places to go and people to see, Nuts & Bolts is going to be a game you keep going back to. Just getting to the end will require hours of commitment, but, it’s not like you need an excuse, right? Apart from a confusing premise (the story is a little bit weak) and the small text, this game is a massive success.

The game's new vehicle-based emphasis will probably turn off some long-time fans, but I really enjoyed the game's premise. [Dec 2008, p.95]

Banjo is back. A whole new adventure featuring several old friends and some new characters, but in a completely new world. It's great to see Banjo this well, as Nuts & Bolts is really funny, but the new gameplay is something users must get used to. Vehicles are fun, but not as much fun as they should be.

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts is a phenylalanine ****, with buckets of Rare charm and an innovative building mechanic that holds up today. And while you and I may not like the new designs and question how different the gameplay is, looking past that gives you the epitome of a creative game. Don’t play TOTK, play this. Also, a word to the haters and troll reviewers; You **** (;

Even if you can ignore that Nuts & Bolts is a complete sidestep away from the established Banjo-Kazooie formula, this is a pretty medicore game. While car-building seems like it might be fun, driving feels awkward, and the perceived ultra-simplicity of the mission-based gameplay feels simple to the point of being condescending. Despite these issues, it is beautiful-looking game that has some of that charming humour from the old games - ultimately, however, Nuts & Bolts is pretty underwhelming. If I can bring myself to return to this game after my very short time with it, I may revisit this review - however, because of how put off I was by the game's first impression upon me, I don't see myself wanting to go back to playing this game.

Banjo: Nuts & Bolts is actually a pretty decent game with fairly deep vehicle building mechanics. However, the hate the game gets comes from the ties to the Banjo IP and the expectations for a Banjo-Threeie that never ended up happening. As a spinoff game, Nuts & Bolts contains the loveable humor of the series, and still manages to deliver a relatively immersive Collect-a-Thon. The world at times is admittedly too open, and sometimes the handling of the controls is a bit clunky, but if you come into the game with an open mind, the game pushes you to be more creative to solve its wealth of unique puzzles.

And even after spending nearly 20 hours amassing enough jiggies to take down the final boss, I'm compelled to get back in there and keep playing new missions, unlocking new vehicle parts, and exploring more of the game's beautiful world. I had no affection whatsoever for the Banjo-Kazooie franchise or characters going into Nuts & Bolts, but its list of great qualities quietly won me over to make it one of my favorite Xbox 360 games of the year.

Once you’ve accepted the imaginative environment and characters for what they are, then you’ll be able to cruise easier, with the wind blowing in your fur, and a vast, exciting world to leave in the dust.

One of my most-enjoyed titles of this year.

Nuts & Bolts is a clever, colourful and witty game – one which deserves better than to be hidden behind stodgy tutorials, flabby interfaces and a host of loading screens. [Christmas 2008, p.84]

Banjo is what you get when you put a lavish coat of polish on nothing: A beautiful, funny game with a clever concept that is utterly lacking in fundamentals.

The platform/Metroidvania elements that made the original Banjo games so enjoyable are ditched in favour of a vehicle based collect 'em up. It works pretty well, but I couldn't help thinking that a blend of the two would've been better as it's just not as much fun as the first game in particular. Good, but not *as* good.

Banjo kazooie nuts and bolts is not what we banjo fans wanted. This game isn't about exploring which kills the purpose of banjo and the game feels like mission and mission level completed. Banjo kazooie nuts and bolts is a boring and not fun banjo game but hey it's a good game right? right? actually no Doing only missons and getting to the next world is not fun atleast not in my opinion. 4/10
SummaryBanjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts embraces new and old fans alike, as the famous bear and bird duo return in high definition for a unique adventure of epic proportions. The Lord of the Games (aka LOG) is tired of the petty squabbling between Banjo and the evil witch Gruntilda (aka Grunty) over the years, and has arranged a showdown to decide t... Read More
