Astro Tripper is a decent little tribute to oldschool games but simply doesn't have enough options and modes to keep you entertained for much longer then a few hours. Hardcore gamers will enjoy this game, but only in the offline mode since there is no multiplayer present.

The most ruthless design decision is found in Astro Tripper's unforgiving and unflinchingly old-school life system. You start out with just a few lives and only gain new ones after reaching score benchmarks. The problem is you're forced to re-start a timed stage from scratch every time you die, and when you run out of lives altogether, that's it. Game Over. Add that to the cumbersome controls and absurd difficulty curve and you get an experience that's not very accessible or enjoyable.

Дерьмо, просто дерьмо. Ужасная аркада, которую я нашёл где-то на помойке.

The classic Defender! That's what this game reminded me of after watching the gameplay video. The ship movement is perfect, graphics are good and sound is good. A game pad is highly recommended though, it can be played with the keyboard but the ship movement is so precise you can find yourself outside the play area resulting in your death. Fun game and brings back memories of the classic arcade shoot-em-ups! :)
