With that said, the latest Ace Attorney game is an excellent continuation of the series, featuring more compelling mysteries to unravel and lots of memorable characters. [Mar 2008, p.86]

The localization team at Capcom should be commended for writing dialogue that is genuinely funny. Basically, if you're a fan of the earlier Phoenix Wright games, you will laugh...a lot. Couple the comedy with Justice's engrossing story and you have a case that would be criminal not to take.

Apollo Justice surprised us. This may just be yet another of Capcom’s infamous rehashes, but it’s so much more enjoyable than most that it’s extremely hard to ignore.

There was not a single one bad Ace Attorney game, all of them are great, but this one stands out with the plot, which ties everything together so elegant, that I can only say - it's just perfect.

Truthfully, I think this game would have received infinitely more praise had it not been for Turnabout Serenade. Playing that guitar part over and over just... does something to a person. With that being said, I adore this game and every case other than the third. The intro case is the strongest in the series, the emotional core is strong, and the staple characters are, in my opinion, the strongest yet in the series. I enjoy Apollo almost to the same extent I enjoy Phoenix, and Trucy far exceeds Maya (once again, in my opinion). The final case, while logically insane, was immensely enjoyable, and the time travel mechanic worked wonderfully. An underrated gem that I'm so glad more people get to play.

Despite fears that a new stable of characters would prove less interesting than the established cast, Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney manages to hold up to its predecessors in nearly every way.

It's more of the same, then, but it's great.

What a game. What a experience. It changed people’s lifes, and the way I see the ace attorney franchise, it only proofed that Phoenix Wright is a living legend and the universe the game is set in will always carry his name. Not only the game explained the need of a new protagonist, but totally made sure he was the key to uncover what happened seven years ago. Brilliant writing and fun mechanics.

As great as it is, we can't believe we've waited two years for this. [June 2008, p.80]

Since Apollo's adventure builds upon the Phoenix Wright trilogy and the original remains the best, playing the Ace Attorney series in order remains my recommendation.

It’s funny, unique, and breaks up the text scrolling with more varied activities. Even so, Apollo still has room to grow, and I’m looking forward to seeing what case he takes next.

Had Capcom pout a little more effort into overhauling the gameplay and graphics, while also preserving the magic of the original cast, Apollo Justice would have been more than just another sequel. [May 2008, p.116]

Best soundtrack out of the series, amazing characters and storyline, and it's awesome how they tie Phoenix into the story, along with his adopted daughter, Trucy, a magician. The Ace Attorney series is one of the best and I feel is one of the most memorable experiences in gaming history.

Apollo justice feels solid yet shaky on how it want to follow up the great original trilogy. It has cool ideas and cases with flawed execution especially towards the end. Apollo just is fine, and not as well established or as much character to pheonix, who gets thrown into a convoluted role that feels pretty divisive and odd. Apollo never fully gets his moment or fells like the sucessor. While having fun characters some of the cases felt like they broke logic too far like 2. The story didn't seem to have a decided way to handle its ideas and ends with a very odd case that kinda undermines the fun of series somewhat if that system was used. There is good to be had but yet it feels like the end falls hollow.Just such an odd entry.

A sequel that absolutely did not need to exist. The series ended perfectly with trials and tribulations but Then this completely unnecessary, half assed sequel happened. the writing makes this game feel like a poorly made fanfic and is riddled with potholes. The protagonist Apollo has no personality and all the other characters are extremely unlikable. The only good thing about this game is the soundtrack which continues the AA tradition of being super catchy and the expressive sprite art.
