The show assumes viewers will firmly identify with Kevin, whose fight against obviously needed improvements makes him a difficult character to root for despite James’ innate charisma and comedic timing. If there is one bright spot in “The Crew,” it’s Sarah Stiles, who plays the team’s office manager Beth and the clear will-they-won’t-they love interest for Kevin. ... It feels like a relic from an era we are lucky to have left behind.

Right out of the gate, “Salt Lake City” presents a rich and twisted mythology tying its characters together — including family ties, old college drama, and Sundance gatekeeping — which will only grow as new layers are added to the feuds and friendships playing out on screen. “Salt Lake City” already promises enough off-kilter absurdity and compelling chaos to think it could one day rival the “Housewives” crown jewels of “Atlanta,” “New York,” and “Potomac.”

Helstrom, with compelling mythology and morally complicated characters, is just the type of spooky adventure I was craving this fall.

The Haunting of Bly Manor is an entertaining and evocative followup to Hill House, despite never quite reaching the heights of its predecessor.

Take Two is a light crime procedural that's here to give you some pretty people to look at, some quips to chuckle at and a mystery to solve in a tidy 43 minutes. Nothing more, nothing less. It's weird that something so familiar and formulaic can feel like a breath of fresh air, but here we are.

Honestly, the worst thing about Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt's fourth season is that it's being released in two parts, leaving Kimmy's journey — and our lives — feeling incomplete as a result.
