Punisher does a lot of killing in his Marvel Special Presentation. A whole lot. But layered into the over-the-top violence is a powerful character study of a PTSD-addled veteran who has lost nearly everything.

If “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” really is the end of Gunn’s run with Marvel, then this holiday special is a near-perfect, penultimate film from one of the superhero genre’s best.

It’s the creepiest and bloodiest Marvel project by far, and clocking in at a lean 53 minutes long, it’s a perfect, snack-sized Halloween treat heading into the spookiest of seasons.

“Resident Evil” doesn’t reinvent the zombie wheel, as it juggles too many storylines without honing in on one vision for the series. Fans of the series of the genre may find some enjoyable moments amid this apocalyptic tale. Reddick also gives a dynamic performance as the show progresses, but his absence from scenes leaves viewers hungry for more.

Fans of “The Boys” will certainly be entertained by the easily bingeable series, but the most sterling episodes are the ones that abandon the genre completely and tell a fascinating, human-centered story — albeit with a gory, superhero twist.

This spinoff fails to stir up nearly as much bing-worthy excitement or as many jaw-dropping revelations as the first “Tiger King” (nor its lackluster follow-up released just three weeks ago).

The characters still act like “ding-dongs,” but there are good laughs and clever moments throughout. For fans who grew up with Cosgrove and “iCarly,” the revival feels like catching up with a childhood friend and sharing in the challenges of adulthood, without shedding any of the humor or personality from when you first met.
