Fans will find plenty to love in Sabrina’s final eight episodes, but unfortunately, it’s a farewell in which the whole is never greater than – heck, not even equal to – the sum of its parts.

Camp Cretaceous delivers almost everything you could want from a family-friendly dino adventure. Tightly scripted with smart characters, Netflix’s animated Jurassic adventure checks all the right boxes. Best of all, it has a knack for capturing the wonders and horrors that make dinosaurs such a perennial favorite.

In the end, it lands somewhere between the creeping dread synonymous with the greats of J-Horror and a splatter-the-walls penchant for gore that’s more akin to something out of New French Extremity. It’s not for everyone and considering the trauma of it’s most extreme moments I’m not entirely sure who I’d recommend it to, but it’s certainly refreshing to see a franchise installment this late in the game that manages to bring something new to the table.

Season 7 gets off to a bit of a rocky start with a dialogue-heavy establishing episode that’s understandably focused on set-up but frustratingly inert until its final moments. Fortunately, from those last scenes of the premiere forward, The 100 Season 7 moves at a breathless clip, infusing world-building with tense action, a firm embrace of all the exciting possibilities sci-fi storytelling has to offer, and another batch of impossible odds for Clarke and Co. to overcome.

No small thanks to that knockout ensemble, Defending Jacob [is] absorbing for much of its run, though the compelling drama tends to come in fits, surrounded by lulls, side-tangents, and red herrings that too often seem to lead nowhere. In part, it’s obvious that’s because the material simply doesn’t fill an eight-episode run, at least not as it was adapted.

There’s a giddy “while the cat’s away the mouse will play” mischievous energy, and more space than ever for Harley’s character arc and relationships to take center stage. It’s crazier than ever, relentlessly playful, funny as hell, and an absolutely delightful spin on the fan-favorite characters of Gotham City.

While Season 3 seems to be shaping up to be a new bag that’s full of familiar tricks, you probably know if that’s your bag. And if it is, what a stunning and ambitious one at that.

In its first four episodes, the road may feel familiar and it may be a bit slow to get where it’s going, but it’s a lovely stroll all the same.

If you want to take a hell of a head-trip, Devs is just the ticket.

The real surprise this season is Patti Harrison‘s deliciously dark and bizarre office assistant Ruthie, hereby dubbed Ruthie the Ruthless, a wonderfull macabre agent of chaos. The scripting is also especially sharp in Season 2, with so many wry lines you’re likely to miss some of the best jokes your first time around.
