I can't remember having played a more frustrating game in the last, say, ten years :-O The first time one of the two dies it's tragic and breaks your heart sure, but when it happens a thousand times I just want to get it over with. What I did like were those documentaries. Though they were disappointingly short, I do get that this is so it doesn't distract from the game. However, I don't understand why in a game like this it is possible to actually miss some of those unlockable documentaries. We misses about 5 of those and we're definitely not going to torture ourselves longer by playing through the game again.

Obviously I didn't play as the game intented. But that's the problem isn't it, the makers clearly expected every player to delve itself into the world. But if I'm the reaper or whatever and my job is to claim a life I'm not gonna be so stupid as to get emotionally attached. I'm just gonna choose some random person. And that's what I did... So now the game is over in 8 minutes.

I am so extremely disappointed in this game. Hakuoki was recommended to my by someone when I asked for another visual novel after Danganronpa. I don't know anything about Japanese/Asian history and though this game does give some background explanation it's not nearly enough for someone with no prier knowledge to understand. It's not necessary to understand the main plot about a girl trying to find her father, but it is necessary to remotely enjoy anything that's happening around you. Secondly, Hakuoki does nothing to make you care about it's characters, or at least not nearly enough. Just about any male character is a a-hole the first time you meet him and by the time you get to warm up to them slightly the game is over. It doesn't help that the actions of a lot of the characters don't make much sense and the game raises a lot more questions then it answers. I also have no idea what the point was of the demon and fury story, it truly added nothing to the story except confusion and further questions. In conclusion I'd like to point out that I have been robbed by Idea Factory/Aksys games. Besides this game I also bought Demon of the Fleeting Blossom only to find out they are the exact same game! If now when I google it there's almost no indication that this is the case. After further research it seems that Hakuoki on Ipad/Android is again the same game. Luckily I didn't buy that either. I've seldom seen such a blatant example of exploiting the consumer.

I like the story and I really wanted to see the ending. If you love The Walking Dead you'll probably like this too. That being said, it's a lot harder to fall in love with these characters then it is in the walking dead. In place of that there's a bit of a whodunnnit story that makes you think. The same faults still exist though: your choices don't really matter that much. The story will always unfold in the same way and also the ending will be about the same no matter what. The differences are very very limited. The choices you make will impact your own emotional envolvement I think, but that's entirely up to you.

Complicated menus and a system that doesn't really work. What I mean by the latter I will explain with an example. Let's say a movie has a very bad story, but everything else is good: a high score for music, FX, CGI... everything. My last movie had 37/100 for story but everything else was between 80-100. Yet, the overal mark was 40/100. How is this possible? Why can't a movie have a bad story and still be a good movie. Look at the latest Mad Max movie: there's almost no story and yet it's awesome! In this game, it's not possible to make that kind of movie.

This is what I hate about so many Japanese visual novels, or other Japanese games for that matter. The protagonist is completely oblivious and is weirded out about everything "new" he comes across in Japan. Not only that, all those so called new things are explained very very detailed like he's an idiot. He is an idiot, listening to his bewildered reaction. If that was the only explainanation you got then it wouldn't be so bad but the game keeps explaining the same simple thing over and over again, recapping it again and again. In other words, this visual novel treats the player like a small child.

It's very difficult to put a rating on this as this game is for a very niche crowd. The thing is, apparently it's supposed to be funny. After I finished the whole game I saw videos of people playing through it and apparently everyone finds it hilarious. I expected to find it funny as well but the humor of it just goes above my head I think. I didn't laugh a single time. The good news is that the story does get interesting.... but you'll have to finish the game (and repeat a LOT) 14 times to get there. That's about 7-8 hours of repeating something that's not very interesting in the first place. I endured and yes it does become good after that. But not THAT good. It still drags on far too long, the plot overreaches and without spoiling anything: the most important plotline does not get explained. Other plotlines often get ridiculous explanations. Again, this is probably meant to be funny again. In other words I could not tell you if this game/visual novel is good for you or not. Chances are you will either love it or hate it, and I expect most people to hate it. Oh one last thing, this game is a visual novel of the purest kind (no puzzles or anything involved). It is now a dating sim however. It's being advertised as a pigeon dating sim but that's just not what it is. You want be doing much dating I can assure you.

What a borefest has this become! You see I was a big fan of the first Diablo when I was about 12 to 14 years old. Granted, I also thought the Power Rangers were the best thing to ever come on tv. I thought clicking (un)dead things and making them eu... dead was pretty cool back then. I couldn't count how many times I've played it from start to... almost finish. Almost because I was always afraid of going up against Diablo himself and I chickened out :-). Off course, eventually I picked up the game again and played it from start to finish with a new character that I hadn't seen before, the monk. Diablo was kind off underwelming off course, after years of living of fear of him I killed him in one try in under a minute. Never played the game again. Now Diablo 3 is here, I have the ultimate edition on my PS4. The first thing I notice that somehow I get the feeling I have to slash a lot longer to get a single monster killed. This kinda gets the action out of the game. It also makes it extremely repetitive. I know that Diablo was always a repetitive game and that a lot of the appeal lies in the balance between weapons and armor. The next item is always just out of reach, but not too far out of reach. The thing is, that's not really the case anymore now that the so called "legendary" items drop every 5 minutes. Also, where I used to have the feeling that a new weapon felt more powerful or at least felt different then the last, in Diablo 3 all weapons feel the same to me. Off course, maybe it was just my childish imagination that made the weapons feel different in the past. You might argue that I haven't played the game long enough. I keep reading people say the game only REALLY starts at level 75. Well, I've now played around 9 hours. I'm at level 30-ish and have had no fun at all in any off those 9 hours. I really don't see why I would want to spend another 10-15 hours on this game just so I can reach level 75 and see if it might get a bit better. I don't see why I would want that and I don't see why the game would be designed that way. I don't believe for a second that this bore-fest could get any better beyond mediocre anyway. This has been my biggest disappointment of the year, closely followed by WWE 2K15 (the difference is that I saw the latter disappointment coming).

In my opinion just as good as the first season. As before it's a story, it's like a tv series or a comic, and the gameplay is just there to keep you focussed on the story. The gameplay is also there to make choices. Choices not to change the story, but mainly to change the way you view the story and how the interaction with other characters feels. For example, there's a girl in this game that is somewhat helpless. You can either be understanding and try to comfort her or you can be cold towards her. I did both in two playthroughs. In the first I had the feeling I was helpful, I got the feeling of beeing a mentor so someone. In my second playthrough the I was cold against the girl, which in turn made me think of her as a nuassance more and more. This is how it is in real life too, the way you react to a certain situation doesn't usually change the essence of the situation, it does change the way you, and other feel about it though. Also, the characters in season 2 are just as good. No you won't feel the same love and trust... but that's not a bad thing. I cared more about surviving then I did about the other characters. I looked at the other people suspiciously, I didn't fully trust any of them. This makes a completely different feeling from the first season. But just as good. Maybe even better because following up a strong story like that wasn't easy! I don't understand the advantage of episodic gaming though, so I always buy telltale games when all episodes are out.

The big problem with Skyrim is that while it does contain a lot of hours of gameplay, that gameplay isn't very interesting. No story or characters to care about and all the quests are just fetch quests. Quests just for the purpose of quests isn't my idea of fun. The combat is extremely repetitive for a game that you're supposed to play for hours and hours and hours. There is some fun to be had exploring the world and upgrading your character BUT then the longer you play the more bugs start to surface. The one bug that is the worst is the more you play, the more you alter the world, the bigger the save game gets, and the more the game freezes. So even though the world is very big and you have a lot to explore, you can't do it! By the time you explore everything you're savegame is so big that the game keeps freezing and crashing. I played the legendary edition so by now all the updates should have fixed this.

I was looking forward to this game because I was a fan of The Darkness (by many of the same makers). I was somewhat disappointed because the story(telling) was the part that get's the most praise. There's nothing much to tell about the story and I didn't particularly care about the characters. The storytelling is good and has well made cutscenes but what does it matter if I don't care about the story or it's characters? Lots of time has gone into the game world but I don't understand the world. On one hand it tries to tell this dark dramatic story, on the other hand it's kind of ridiculous (robot dogs acting like real dogs). It doesn't succeed in being dramatic, nor in being funny. The graphics are good but it's all too dark. Which would work if it wasn't too ridiculous at times. Gameplay is good, but standard for today's FPS overloaded world.

I've played Gears of War for the first time a couple of months ago. While there's some fun to be had, the controls are adaquate, it's also outdated and newer similar games control a lot more fluid. The graphics are average but everything, absolutely everything is dark and gray. I'd say this game, for modern audiences, deserves about a 5 out of 10. But, that's not taking into account the game breaking bug that never got fixed: the save games. It isn't enough that the checkpoints are too far apart to begin with, it's impossible to know when the game saves exactly. Not only that, we (I played with a friend in split screen) constantly lost our save game, having to play the same section over and over again. We never finished the game but we did see the berserker a couple of times, maybe that gives you an indication how far we were in the game. EDIT: as I've read that the sequel and threequel have the same save game bug I will definitely not be playing those unless it's for free. I would however give a new game for Xbox One a shot if this bug is fixed. I believe Judgement already fixed it.

I won't say this is a bad game because I liked it a lot. But I noticed it's not really a cart game. Racing is more important then weapons, way more important. The game looks good and the racing feels good to, there's a real sense of speed. But the problem is that you should be able to play a kart game with friends and family. My friends and family found this game to be too difficult to control and the changing worlds too confusing. Then never knew where to go next. So it's a nice racer, but not a good cart racer and not a good party or family friendly game.

This game is too complicated to be a party game. You can't just pick it up and play, no everyone should play the tutorial first, and even then it's pretty complicated. Not recommended.

I loved true crime so much so I was looking forward to this one for a long time. It was disappointing. Let's begin by saying that 80% of this game is fighting. I didn't shoot one gun and the driving doesn't work very well. Actually: running doesn't work very well either. The fighting is really frustrating, I never felt in control off the character and couldn't defend myself against the knives and such weapons.

How did they f* this up? The first game was almost perfect. The changes to the gameplay are for the worst. The co-op from the first is gone. The first one had a compelling story, this one does not. The bosses aren't even fun anymore!
