This is probably the best game I’ve played in years. Fun, challenging, adventurous and pretty surreal most of the time. I can’t wait to see where the story goes and it’s pretty much the only thing on my mind these days.

Blood Bowl III2

This is a buggy mess **** currently. I actually sought a refund from XBOX for it even. The UI is absolutely awful and made it nearly impossible to complete the simpilest of moves. There's a countdown clock now for moves, which is nice, but the sluggish and awful UI make it nearly impossible to actually finish your turn before the time runs out and your overarcing bonus times starts counting down too. The animations are great, when they work. The camera control I find awful and annoying and far too close. I like to play with an overall view of the field/gameboard, and there's no way to get there. I love me some Blood Bowl, but I'll stick with the actual game for now I guess.

The Order: 18868

Look, I'm old. I have a family. I don't have much time for gaming. I certainly don't get or play new releases. The Order is regularly around $5 on sale. It it easily worth that. The story is well written and engrossing. The controls are responsive and effective. The graphics and sound are top notch. Overall this is probably one of the best Third Person Shooters I've ever played. I get why people were upset paying $60 for this "short" side ****, but at the current price, you're crazy not to give it a go. It really is a masterpiece ****.

Warhammer: Chaosbane8

This is exactly as advertised a Diablo clone set in the Warhammer universe. That being said, I'm finding it thoroughly enjoyable. The story and lore are top notch, as to be expected. The visuals are fantastic, although I sometimes wish I could control the camera or zoom in to see the details or what the enemies look like a bit better. Yeah, it's a bit repetitive but so are most hack and slash games out there. Bigben Interactive also released the 40K Martyr title, and that game has gotten a load of updates and DLC both free and paid for, so I am very excited to see what else they add to this game. If you like the Warhammer lore and Diablo gameplay do yourself a favor and get on the Chaosbane train. It's a engrossing good time.

This was in no way a game worth $60. I waited until the special edition was down to $18 and picked it up. I have to say, it was a very pleasant surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed this game. The story is decent enough. The gameplay is tight and enjoyable, although it might be a bit repetitive. The challenges are varied and trying to accomplish all the primary and secondary objectives makes for enjoyable replayability. The voice acting is quite good, the animated cut scenes are great for a change of pace and the other conversation pieces are fun too. The best part of this game, by far, is the art style in the gameplay parts. It's flat out beautiful, and makes the whole game more enjoyable. While I certainly understand other peoples disappointment with this game (especially at a $60 price tag) and get that this is not a game for everyone, it very much is for me.

This is not an action game. This is not an adventure game. This is a thriller-exploration game and I loved every second of it. While not the longest the atmosphere is fantastic. Near the best I've experienced. Good visuals and a true joy to experience. Don't rush through this game, explore and discover it. It's worth it. It probably has my favorite ending of any game I've played. Makes the whole experience all the better. As of writing this the set price is $15 and I would jump at it, but with the length I would recommend waiting for it to go on sale, as it is definitely not for everyone. If you like the Giant Sparrow games (Unfinished Swan and Edith Finch) this narrative is of that quality.

ONRUSH9

I am horrible at racing games. I struggle to win races on Lego games. I avoid racing games in general. The only racers I have ever liked are Kart racers and Test Drive Off-Road Wide Open for the PS2. That being said, Onrush is damn near perfect for me. This game is so much fun. I haven't stopped playing it since I got it and I see myself playing it for years to come honestly. This is a team racer that is objective based and doesn't have finish lines. Yup. Team racer with objectives and no finish line. I don't get it either but it is one hell of a ride. There are several different game modes that have different kinds of winning conditions. Whether it's racing through gates to add time to your clock so the opponents' clock runs out first, or catching a moving circle and trying to stay in it to capture the objective, all while trying to crash your opponents and stay uncrashed yourself. I saw one review that called this the Overwatch racing game. I can see that as a pretty fair descriptor. You have several different kinds of vehicles to utilize and they each have different abilities and uses. The ONLY complaint I have about this game is there is no local multiplayer. I would love to fire up a match, co-op or vs., with my wife or kids and race around laughing and enjoying it all as a family. The developer said they're looking into it, but I won't hold my breath. Adding something like that after launch has to be a huge ordeal or else they would have done it before. Nonetheless I'm still racing my heart out and loving every single minute of it. This is my new racing game and I don't see that changing for a very long time. Heck Test Drive was out back in 2001 and it lasted 17 years as my favorite. Update: A month later and I'm still playing this game almost every day. I love this game!!!

Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier8
Jul 19, 2018
I really enjoyed this "game." I am a huge Planet of the Apes fan, and being able to get a new story about this world, and play (an admittedly minor) role in shaping it was pretty awesome. This is similar to a Telltale game. The biggest difference is that there are even less quick-time-events (which I'm ok with). I sat back, experienced the story and added a bit of input. While I understand that this would be offputting to many, it was right up my alley. I like story driven games, and this is even more like a story driven experience than game. Almost like reading a 'Choose Your Own Adventure' book, I'll snatch these type of 'games' every time. Update: Since I have now Platniumed this game I'll give an additional bit on to my review. I still really like this game. If you are not a completionist, this is a great addition to the PotA mythos. The first playthrough was very engaging and enjoyable. After that it was quite a slog getting through all the various little bits to get to 100%. This doesn't take away from the story and game, but it certainly reduces the replayability.

This is a near perfect game for the Vita platform. While the "combat" could be considered repetitive, I found it to be more like a puzzle, trying to find an effective solution and get better at it as well. The story is fantastic, the graphics perfect and the use of the Vita's touch screen was ideal. I cannot recommend this game more. If you have a Vita, you should have this game.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance9

While this may not be my favorite game, it hasn't stopped me from getting addicted to it. I really enjoy the difficulty and skill curve. Those complaining about the save system have become spoiled by save scumming and not living with the decisions you make. This game saves automatically quite often and I haven't even used their unique "saviour scnapps" system yet. This kind of reminds me of X-Com's Ironman in many ways. Whatever happens you have to learn from, adapt and move on. As for the lockpicking complaints, well those are valid. It's terribly difficult to pick locks at the start. So much so that I have broken all my lockpicks and couldn't complete the "tutorial" on it. The good news is that they are already developing a patch to make this a bit easier for those of us with controllers. I highly recommend this game to anyone who loves story driven games, history, and a challenge.

We all know the issues with this launch,m and EA is a money grubbing company like everyone knows. That being said, this game is fun! I love the space battles! The best I've flown since the old X-Wing/Tie Fighter series. The land battles are tough and I get killed, a lot, but I still have fun and actually have gotten a bit better overall (helps that I play 8v8 strike instead of the massive galactic assault). I am not a fan of shooters, I am not an online gamer, but I really enjoy this game. The single player campaign is short and could be better, but it's still fun and satisfying. Overall this game is great and all the hatred towards EA overshadows quite the fun game underneath the sewage.
