The Last of Us Part II0

WTF? I just logged in and saw that "somehow" more than half of this review got deleted. The first two paragraphs that follow were suddenly missing with only the final paragraph remaining. REALLY suspicious. My last review for this got deleted because lying, false-flagging, bot-ing and cancel-culture is how people deal with disagreements these days. Absolutely pathetic if you ask me, but that's besides the point. Click to view all positive user reviews. Pick any random 20+ people. Take note of how many of them are brand new accounts with only one rating and one review and it will give you an idea how hard the ideological far-left are trying to manipulate the results for this one. Comments copy-pasted across dozens of reviews. 10/10 scores from people who are certain to have never played the game. It's sad that this is the current state of the world. As for the game itself... it's bad. It doesn't respect your intelligence, it doesn't respect the original game, it doesn't even respect itself. All good storytelling was thrown out the window in favor of pushing the "woke" agenda and coddling the directors ego. The gameplay can still be fun, it's basically more of the same that you'd expect from the first game, but the writers obvious disdain for fans of the original game make it an unbearable experience for anyone who once loved it.

I bought this game around the time that it first released into Early Access and have been playing it off and on since then. I love the gameworld. I love the gameplay. I love the concept. But the atrocious optimization, excessive visual pop-in, absolutely minimal view distance and plethora of enemy clipping and glitch issues detracts away from the core gameplay so strongly that I can't bring myself to give this anything more than a mediocre score. If they fixed the main issues, specifically the horrible pop-in and short view-distance I would absolutely bump my review score up another 2 points at least, because this game really is for me around an 8.5, because I love the terror of the deep, but until its technical issues are overcome I'd recommend approaching this one with caution. Update: They ironed out a lot of the graphical and optimization issues, even if it did take a particularly long time. Great game if the atmosphere and allure of the deep ocean entices and frightens you.

Do you like Infinity Engine games? Do you miss the golden era of CRPGs? Then buy this. 8.5/10 game that carries the torch and proudly pays homage to some of the greatest games ever made.

Honestly, this game is an underrated gem that got devastated by critics and fanboys who were expecting the game to play exactly like Baldur's Gate. On release the DM mode was kind of underpowered and wonky, but the core story and gameplay have always been frankly excellent. This game deserved a much better fate than it got and hopefully one day the fanboys will actually give it a chance and realize what they missed out on.

Shenmue III7
Jun 28, 2020
Giving this a 5 to start because of some jank, broken promises, sneaky dev moves, EGS exclusive and crapping all over the backers who made this game happen, but it looks good, it has that Shenmue vibe complete with cheesy voice acting and melodrama, mini-games and all that jazz. I'll increase my score if I end up satisfied with the story once I complete it, but I still need to dock points just because of how underhanded they were all during development. Update: I loved the game, still docking 2 points for the previously mentioned issues. It's worth playing if you were a fan of the originals.

I would be rating this a lot higher if it weren't for the extremely anti-consumer practices that Bethesda/id have implemented into the game. DLC that you already paid for locked behind a **** account, Denuvo DRM implemented into the game and only announced to the public less than a day before release, shameful microtransactions in a $60 singleplayer videogame. It's atrocious. I refuse to even discuss the gameplay, story, graphics, sound or say a single positive word about the game, because of the previously mentioned and absolutely disgusting facts. Do not buy this game. Do not support anti-consumer companies like Bethesda and now (much to my dismay) id. I had hoped and prayed that Fallout 76 was a fluke and that Bethesda could still redeem themselves, but it's obvious now they have changed and I will never purchase another game that is in any way attached to their brand, because they can no longer be trusted.

One-trick-pony with next to no real content and a draining and repetitive gameplay loop, this only got popular because it's easy for 12 year olds with low standards to watch streamers play. I enjoyed it a lot at first I admit, but quickly realized that this game is about as deep as a bone-dry lake bed in the middle of the desert and will leave you just as thirsty. I guess you can buy it if you are looking for a game to stream and want to appeal to children, but if you have any actual taste I'd aim a little higher and just go down to Crown Fried or KFC to get that chicken dinner instead.

Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition10
Apr 10, 2018
It's Baldur's Gate II, one of the greatest games ever made with some slight enhancements that it allow it to run smoothly on modern hardware. It's always on sale at GOG for super cheap and provides hundreds upon hundreds of hours of engaging storytelling and gameplay. Basically every game made with the Infinity Engine gets a 10/10 from me as it was truly to golden era for RPGs. This is just a minor update, but all of the original juicy goodness is still there, just shining a little brighter. If you like amazing stories, tactical gameplay and developers that respect your intelligence, then buy this.

Fun little strategy game but the user reviews going full on fanboy with the 10/10's and the critic review score of a 90 is WAY overblown and just goes to show how ridiculously disingenuous the gaming industry is. It's a fun game, but it's not anything super special. Barely any story, which doesn't really matter because gameplay can make up for that and the gameplay is there, but after playing through a few maps you've basically already experienced everything the game has to offer in terms of gameplay. Sure, there are different types of units that you can eventually buy and play with, but the core gameplay loop is always the same. Good as a little time-killer but 10/10 territory this is NOT.

Seven: The Days Long Gone8
Apr 10, 2018
Criminally underrated and underrepresented, Seven: The Days Long Gone is the sleeper hit of the year. A very interesting and enjoyable blend of old-school top-down isometric RPG and the parkour mechanics of games like Assassin's Creed and Mirrors Edge. Very lengthy and interesting story for the cheap $30 price tag. HIGHLY recommended. I don't know what the issue is with some of the major reviewers giving the game only average reviews, but something I've learned the last 30 or so years of gaming is that game review critics cannot be trusted worth a damn. The game is solid and deserves at the very least an 8 and all the way up to a 10 depending on the player's interests. I give it a 10.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance9

Not perfect, but it's better than Skyrim. Storytelling seems really good so far. Combat is fun, feels visceral like you're actually really hitting them with some meaning. Haven't really encountered any bugs yet and it's running smoothly for me on my i7-7700hq, gtx 1060-6GB, 16GB DDR4 set-up. The scenery, textures, lighting and effects look absolutely amazing, but the character movements can be a little awkward at time. I think they kind of went above and beyond for an indie studio and this game absolutely crushes a number of pathetic AAA releases out there. I say if you're into the whole medieval thing you should definitely buy it. If you want your games to hold your hand and put a giant flashing arrow hovering above everything you need to do then maybe this game isn't for you. I'm pretty satisfied and glad I pre-ordered this one.

Don't buy it unless you get it on a massively deep sale. Is absolutely in no way worth the AAA $60 price tag they put on it. Extremely repetitive, extremely short, extremely shallow. This game shouldn't be priced any higher than $20 and even then I'd still wait for it to go on sale for $10. Really glad I was able to refund this one. Somehow this has even less content than the atrociously disappointing release of No Man's Sky. Bad studio trying to rip people off. STAY AWAY!

Far Cry 54
Mar 27, 2018
The AI is awful with enemies literally shooting at walls endlessly for no reason, crashing their cars almost every time you let them or see them driving. Absolutely no skill required in fighting them. Game can be kind of fun at first but quickly became boring and repetitive. Characters and story are particularly shallow. Could have worked just as well as a Far Cry 4 DLC. Overall it's not awful, but it's also not really that good. Good sound though.

Divinity: Original Sin II10
Sep 17, 2017
This game is amazing and if you ask me is probably the only game released this year so far that's worth a damn. The only complaints I see about this game seem to come from people who are frustrated that they aren't smart enough to beat the battles without save scumming. I even see one of the reviews on here some dude crying about have trouble with the game on friggen explorer mode which is just insane to me, because it makes the game super easy, too easy in my opinion so I play on classic which has a good balance of difficulty and fun. I'll probably do a second run in tactician and also on the permadeath option mainly because there is just SO MUCH CONTENT in this game. The stories are deep and thoroughly interesting. The graphics are beautiful. The combat is seriously some of best tactical strategy RPG gaming that has ever graced the human race. The only problem with the game right now has to do with a few bugs here and there, but nothing gamebreaking, just slightly annoying, like the global chat was broken with the latest 'hotfix' but the bug is supposed to fixed very soon in an upcoming patch, but there is nothing that is so much of an issue that it actually detracts from any of the pure enjoyment that this game has offer. I'd say if you like interesting stories, intelligent combat and D&D style tabletop RPGs then this game is absolutely for you. If you have an IQ below 40, only play Madden and Call of Duty and can't stand excellent stories and voice acting, then you should probably stay away. One more thing that is awesome is that this game ships with a Game Master mode which is sort of like being a Dungeon Master for D&D or Pathfinder, but in a videogame where you can create your own stories and then act them out with your friends. In it you can play as the all powerful storyteller and god of the game or you can simply be along for the ride and let someone else take the reigns. Besides that what is really interesting is the modding API released with the game the Divinity Engine 2, which is a stupid powerful editor in the context of this game and it allows you to do everything from building your own maps to completely overhauling the game into something completely new (see the quick proof of concept soccer mod that has already been released). GET THIS GAME!
