Picked the game up on a deep holiday sale. I'm 10+ hours in and here are my thoughts. For one, I really like it. Plays very well, the menu and controls are easy to use. The initial load time is quite long, about 3+ minutes (from booting up to getting into the game). Load times between buildings are not long, standard length for games on the Switch. Regarding any technical issues, I have had only one crash in 10 plus hours. No glitches, strange text, pets not spawning, or anything else. This may change after many hours more of play, but I'm happy enough already. I'm playing on a Switch oled and have the game downloaded to my internal memory, as opposed to an sd card (this has helped alleviate technical problems with other games). I have also disabled auto save, and I have limited myself to two save slots only. I have heard that excess save files are the crashing culprits for this game. I also started as a rogue, if that influences anything then I do not know. In short, I really enjoy this game. If you are interested, pick it up on a deep sale (so you'll have minimal buyer's remorse if something digitally ill fated occurs). Follow my tips above, and happy gaming! Update time: 20+ hours in. About 7 crashes in total. 2 during saving that erased my save. Luckily I had another, so make sure you keep a second save slot always. I'll update more as I go. Update time: While I do find the game enjoyable and that it has a lot to offer, like an interesting plot, engaging characters, a simple but fun battle system, I'll be putting this game down for a while. The great Achilles heel has become the loading times. They have grown a tad too long and can pile up to wasted time when you need to travel to a city and then to multiple houses. Each new zone, and building within, contain a lengthy loading screen. As a result, I spent a lot more time waiting than playing. This isn't an issue if you enter one single larger dungeon, but the game is made up of zones and places to enter in those zones. I'll be putting this game down for a while but I'll definitely pick it up again when I get that CRPG itch and when I have a bit more time and patience to spare. In short, the game is playable and enjoyable, but only if you have heaps of patience and forgiveness for terminal bugs likes deleted saves on crashes during saves (keep an additional save to remedy this).

Another game where I felt I was playing a different game than the reviewers. The game is a ton of fun and high quality. It is fast(upgradeing your character can make combat faster), colorful, has great animations, you find different skills as you explore, and is just slick and fun. The loot is ok. I don't care for that, but you can upgrade them to be stronger. All in all a fun fun surprise. Took a risk, bought it on sale and I am having a very good time. Don't trust reviewers or youtubers who show the first 20 mins **** (which is pretty much a majority of them). Performance is good. Had one crash but it never happened again. Also, it is not a rougelike game. It is a 2D action game with handcrafted levels.

Not recommended at the moment. Bugs in the game prevent certain missions from being played. Models are a bit jaggy. Some enemies are invisible. Don't support publishers who put out buggy games and have players be the beta testers. This isnt even a cheap indie game either so I expected better quality.

Another game that I skipped on day one due to some reviewers' opinions on YouTube. Glad I finally picked it up. It looks good, plays smoothly and has a lot of fun environmental puzzles(less annoying than DS1 portal ones) and platforming-I love the Prince of Persia style platforming. I can only agree with reviewers in that world one can drop in FPS and resolution sometimes. After world one everything looks nice and plays so too. I had a lot of fun with this game.

Editing my review. After playing some more, I can say for myself that this game is not fun. It is full of artificial difficulty. One boss has a ton of hp and I continue to lose because it is such a tank that eventually it will widdle me down unless I am perfect. Did the devs do a no hit test run of bosses like Castlevania? Also, instadeath as a mechanic is frustrating and artificial. I don't want to spend a good percent of my gaming time trekking back to where I died and repeating. This is also compounded by the left joy Con drift. One whacky drift and it's instadeath, then tedious jog back. Yeah. I dislike this game a lot. Good artstyle but tedious gameplay. This game has difficulty but not based on good game design.Money wasted.

Fun game. But very overrated. Pawns are ok, good for healing and tanking. No story, just something to provide a sense of why your character exists. Open world is small and seems big because you walk **** you will tread the same roads and areas many times as quests recycle locations. Best part of the game is the 'post game" and DLC. DLC feels like the game Capcom wanted :-) a western style monster Hunter. I really enjoyed the post game and DLC.

Well... Another good game that may get tanked because of critic reviews. I really like this game. I like the bright and festive artstyle, I like the characters and I love the swinging/slinging mechanic. The combat is as you would expect from a 2D platformer focused on platforming. It reminds me of Shantae in that respect. Punch, kick, take out the bad guy. You have some extra moves you can acquire as you play. The mystery aspect of the game is unique—it makes you engage in the story apart from just watching a cut scene. It looks great on my Switch in portable mode and the levels are nice and bite sized. My only gripe, which I have become accustomed to, is that there is a small delay in moving the character when I move my left joycon stick. It may just be my joycon is old, I cannot say. But, it is not an issue, I simply got used to it. In short, this is a fun game and worth playing if you are into Shantae. Enjoy!

I played Revelations on the 3DS and a bit of Revelations 2 on the PS3. I replayed them both on the Switch and loved them even more. Most likely because I play in hand held mode. Both games are a ton of fun. The story telling is better in RE2 and I enjoyed the characters a lot more. Moira and Barry are fantastic. RE2 runs perfectly fine on the Switch. Reviews cried and cried about frame rate and grass pop in... Common, stop nit picking. I only noticed grass pop up because I was looking for it because of what reviewers said--I would have never noticed otherwise. A fun set of games. Great price. The final boss had a frame rate drop... No big deal! A single drop, OMG! Load times for RE2 are not super quick, but neither are they 1 min plus like some reviewers stated. 2 mins to load... No, that is not the case at all. I loved them and I hope more Resident Evil will come to the Switch. Enjoy.

I am really enjoying this game. I will not write a review, like everyone else, that pretends to have finished a large game in two days of the release date. What I have played so far is very fun. It is a dark RPG with some stat, money and character management. Some people talk about crazy RNG (Random Number Generator) that is unfair to the players. I don't know about this, I am playing on Radiant mode. This is a more streamlined mode--where the game takes less time and less **** (from what I have read online). So far, the game is fun, not grindy and I keep wanting to play one more dungeon and try out a new combo of characters. The game looks good on the TV and handheld. Quick warning! The controls can take a BIT of time to get used to. They are no intuitive, nor clearly explained. But you will get it as you explore the game and interface. All in all, super fun. Not the stress bomb that people write about online (maybe because I am playing Radiant mode--which makes this game more fun for me). Fun, addictive and stylish. Good job Red Hook.

I loved Hyrule Warriors and Legends, but I hated the adventure mode. I live Fire Emblem Warriors and love the History Mode. FEW improves upon HWL and adds a lot of fun innovation. The weapon triangle is key to this game. I makes each map fun, allows you to plan who to use and how to take down the enemy most efficiently. I found the maps to be better. What I mean here is not the style of the maps but the challenges. In history mode you may be battling and then three enemy forces storm your base. Such twists add a level of challenge and keep you on your toes--especially when you have to check what weapon those troops are and you have to send a dominant weapon to defeat them. Great fun, I love it. I character designs are great and I love all the Fire Emblem sound effects. Yes, the characters are from the 3DS games. But, I like those characters and enjoy playing as them. Also, DLC pack 1 is very nice, I like it too. Don't listen to those who say "it's JUST hack and slash." There is more depth here than some reviewers state. Enjoy!

I have never played Doom before. I even havent' played a shooter in years. I am not enjoying this game too much. It is hard to see everything on the portable screen (I only play in portable mode). I turned off motion blur and the other setting (abberation? I cannot recall the term). This helped a bit to make the game appear a bit more clear and crisp. It looks fine and plays fine. However, after playing games that look very crisp in portable mode like Mario, Zelda, Steamworld and Fire Emblem Warriors, I am having a hard time with this game. The gameplay is ok. It's just run and gun, explore a bit, run and gun some more. Dunno. Not really enthralled with this game as others claim to be. OK gameplay and hard to make out visuals makes it a bit of a let down. Still ok.

I have put about 30 hours into HBH and have unlocked the first 9 characters. The official reviewers of this game did a horrible job of reviewing it. HBH is fun, fast, addictive and requires a bit of thinking, planning and understanding of the game's mechanics. The game is not hard, necessariy. Once you unlock more spells and items you are open to more strategies in how to attack, and defend against, enemies. In the beginning I was swarmed with enemies and died. Now, I rarely die unless it is a tough boss battle--this is due to learning the game mechanics and unlocking new spells and items (which you get as you play, buy them, die and unlock more). I highly recommend this game. It is such a great buy--one that I almost didn't purchase due to the harsh critic reviews. Some complain about the weak tutorial. Well, do what I did-google search HBH play tips before buying. Again, fantastic and fun game that is worth your time and money. Enjoy!

I put in 100 hours in MH4U in a year of play. I was very reluctant to pick up MHG because I thought it would be roughly more of the same and I would be burnt out on MH. This is not the case at all--100%. This game is very fresh. As everyone has said the styles and hunting arts has made this game feel very different. Why do the styles and arts matter? Well, the styles matter--the arts are just like special moves. The arts make every weapon have a different way of playing. In MH4U I really only used the insect glave. I wanted to use the hammer but found it clunky. Now, I am rocking the hammer because the styles (and some arts that make you mobile) allow me to play the way I like to play. I am having fun trying out each weapon on the varied lineup of monsters. I never really used the lance, gunlance and hammer. Now I am really enjoying these. But like with MH4U (the only other MH I played), the game takes time to learn and a few hours to get to the actually big game hunting. Fetch quests in the begining are just tutorial like quests. Get to at least HR 3 and you will have fun. Great game and worth the money. Enjoy!

This game just came out today--less than 8 hours ago. How are there even reviews up for Vita and 3DS version?!?!? I will give my take before the "BEST GAME IN THE WORLD **after 2 hours***" comments pop up. On the 3DS everything is mostly fine. No 3D, which is a bummer. However, the game still works well and looks nice-- honestly cannot tell the difference between 30fps and 60fps, so complainers in this realm can go back to their cradle. So far it has been fun, similar to the other two in the series--more so like Virtures Last Reward. Reviews bashing the bad lip syncing are overreacting, I noticed at first then forgot about it--one reason is because I am reading the subtitles. The menu is a tad confusing--the flow charts--at first, but then they become understandble. Of course, I have NOT finished the game and cannot make grand claims, but what I have played has been what I have expected--a quality visual novel akin to the two previous games. Enjoy.

I put over 50 hours into the WII U version. I am so happy that I have Hyrule Warriors on the New 3DS!! The game is so much fun, it plays smooth and I love all the Zelda fan service. Content in abudance! Let me repeat, CONTENT IN ABUNDANCE! Don't be put off by "It is simply Dynasty Warriors with a Zelda skin." This is a silly and unsophisticated way of looking at Hyrule Warriors and Hyrule Legends. The mechanics of Dynasty Warriors is present. But what keeps you hooked is the insane effort the developers put into this game, the fan service, the music, the unlockables, the Zelda universe, the little things like sound effects and character voices during battle. Common! New characters, adventure modes, story mode, fairy game, upgrading your character. You must be a jaded gamer not to have fun with this game! The graphics are downgraded, but it still looks good. The 3D effect is good. I have zero complaints. You can see I love this game. If you are an action fan and a Zelda fan--then this game is a MUST! Again, I am so estatic to have this game on my New 3DS. Enjoy!

So many good/ok games get trashed, like Iron Fall, Advent Rising and even Clive Barker's Jericho. I picked it up because I am on a Sonic kick and found it to be super fun. The controls are fluid, Sonic and team moves fast and swiftly. Yes, it is not a traditional Sonic game--but who cares. I was looking for a fun platformer, and I found it. Only a handful of time do I feel like I wasted my money on a 3DS game. Read the negative reviews below and you shall see some of the salient problems. Noteably, the boring levels. Absolutely boring with no place in a game where the character is meant to be fast (really, pushing apples and then being punished by falling down a well of water. Really, really!?!?1). I am very suprised there are not other reviews here. This is quite a fun game. At first, it does not seem fun at all. However, after the first two levels you get near gear that allows for new spells and abilities. You also level up and build your character in a typical RPG manner (but you pick the stats via a stat like tree). The best part is that you can have 4 different save files at once and play as each character. All items found in each save file are shared and you can even load up a character from a different save file to help out another character on a different file. A fun game, I am enjoying it when I take breaks from Fire Emblem. Enjoy!

I just finished Dark Souls 1 and moved onto Dark Souls 2. One--this game is easier than the first one. The reason is not because it is an easy game, but because Dark Souls 1 was hard because it was artificially hard (cheap deaths, cheap bosses, cheap level design, etc.). DS2 is a challenging and fun game--not hard, as gamers make it sound. I have yet to experience any cheap deaths (people complain about mobs--"pull them," play slower and more methodical). In short, DK2 is better--no doubt. Better enviornments, quick travel, extra slots for items and weapons, smoother animations and quite a lot more over DK1. I played (am still playing) on a laptop intel hd 4000 with an xbox360 controller. Game looks great and plays great. I am very pleased with DK2 over DSK1. Enjoy!

This is a very fun game. It makes me think that the creators of the game played Codename Steam and said "how can we make that game more streamlined, engaging and accesible." The graphics are crisp and fresh. The characters are diverse and their various class skills (which level up with XP) add depth to the combat (which feels fair and challenging). The combat itself is very easy to grasp but as you progress through the game you gain new weapons the combat becomes more nuanced and allows you to play the way you want to. I don't know why there would be negative reviews (unless someone simply doesn't like the strategy genre). The game excutes very well at what it intended to do. Enjoy!

Well, I tried it and I am very hooked. First, the demo does not represent the game--the charming music, scenary, exploration, battles, etc. The first part of the game is like a tutorial and it takes a little bit of time to get down to big game hunting. After that, it is like a string of very fun and challenging boss battles. It is a good game, takes some time to get into, but is very enjoyable! I am a few years late for this review, who cares--it's the internet. I must say that I love the 2D Castlevania games (igavania). I have not played the newer Castlevania games (Lord of Shadows) and find God of War games very repetitive. This game felt like a nice mix of Igavania and GoW combat. The graphics are very crisp and the 3D effect is quite good (except for Trevor's act... For some reason, the 3D effect seemed diminished). The game moves at a brisk pace and never becomes dull. The use of different characters is very good because it keeps the gameplay fresh and gives the player a SoTN feeling of "what is the next power-up/weapon that I will receive next?" Go into this game with low, low, low expectations and you will be pleased--especially if you are an Igavania fan. Even without low expectations, this is a fun "Castlevania" game.

Not sure how so many people wrote reviews on day one of this massive game...I am about 25 hours in, level 31. This game is an absolute charm. The world is big (but not in the annoying sandbox version of big), the characters are lively and vibrant, and the battle system is very fun and unique. There is so much to love about this game. For example, let me note the affinity system. It reminds me of Majora's Mask where you meet people and do things for them. In this instance, a chart develops that shows how everyone is connected and their sentiments towards one another. Very nice touch and adds to the depth of the world building in this game. Now, graphics... If you enjoy 3DS games or have played a few 3DS games, then you know already that graphics really don't matter (for they arn't next gen). This game looks quite good and every zone has its own flare and appeal. Any graphical displeasure will be completely forgotten about as you battle, travel, quest, meet new people, craft gems, run away from level 82 monsters, equip new weapons and armor (that actually change apperance!), get to know your travel-mates, and so on. The official critics of this game really are off the mark. The game is fun, unique, strategic and infused with charm. If you like strategy games then you will very much enjoy this game. The loading times for enemy battles are not a problem at all. It is almost like when you place chess against an AI, you need to allow the AI to compute what it will do. This down time gave me, at least, a little time to think of my next moves. Now, the game isn't that difficuly--due to restore points--but it takes a little bit of planning and thought. Again, the enemy AI time allows you to do this. It is a fun strategy game that shows continues to showcase how Nintendo platforms have the most original and unique games out. Enjoy!

For a team of around 3 developers, this game is wonderful. It is also a fresh shooter on the 3DS. The gameplay is fun, the music is fine and the voice acting is PS1 fun cheesy. The only problem is if you own a regular 3DS. I own a New 3DS and this makes the game very fluid. I can see the gameplay being very rough without the C-stick. Also, this game does utilize the additional shoulder buttons. Again, don't trust the critics, PLAY THE DEMO. It is a fine game for a $10 campaign (I didn't try the multiplayer).

I have had the privllege of being able to own this game about ten days before release and I have put about 30 hours into it so far. Thus, I believe I have enough put in enough game time to comment. First, I much very enjoy every aspect of this game. I love the Persona series (especially Golden) and the game shines with the character interactions, conversations scenes and the little touches such as characters making a comment or two before a battle. This game, however, is for the Persona fan. A player coming into this game never having played at least Persona 3 or 4 will garner little enjoyment. Aside from this, the game has no noticable flaws. It plays like an Etrian game but modified with elements from the Shin Megami series (specifically Persona). Regarding the Etrian elements, they are heavily there. However, dungeon crawling feels fresh and does not get old. Battles are fun and challenging. On the tail end of dungeons you SHOULD have mastered how to quickly beat any villians for that floor (thus, the game does not become repetitive). Quasi-side quests and conversation set pieces allow the player to bond with characters (instead of having social links). ATLUS typically always produces high quality games and Persona Q falls within this spectrum. Honestly, sit back and enjoy being with your Persona friends again. If you have never player a Persona game...Step back from Persona Q and go play Persona 4 Golden. If you are already a Persona fan, then I am sure you don't need a review to tell you that you will have fun. Enjoy!

The battle system is smooth and engaging. Where this game truely shines is in the voice acting and character development. Persona 4 Golden has the player (or at least me) truely caring and feeling for the various characters. The characters can be funny, dramatic, annoying, persistent and a vast arrary of other qualities. The development team produced well rounded protagonists with quite a bit of depth. Everything about this game shines and it deserves to be played. ATLUS is a company that has been producing quality and this is a fine example. Enjoy.

This is a very surprising, experimental and truely unique **** is part video game and part graphic novel. The puzzle squences are quite challenging but add to the dark tone of the game--puzzles are not necessarily logical Professor Layton-like. However, what makes this game memorable is how it is constructed. You do not necessarily play it so as to engage in the puzzles--but to see how the story progresses, to find out who the characters are, and what will (or has) happened to them. What adds to the enjoyable of this is that this game is not necessarily linear--this you will have to experience for yourself because I do not want to add spoilers. A note: I have not player the first game. However, not playing the first game did not take away the enjoyment, excitement, suspense and quite a few scary and emotionally sad moments of this game. A very unique game that should be played. Additionally, I would say the 3DS version is the prefered version, as opposed to the vita version, because the bottom screen of the 3DS allows for note taking during puzzles and various other imporant interface options. Again, unique game. Enjoy.

Animal Crossing is an example of a simple game that is simply enjoyable. The art style is quaint, bright and cheerful. The characters are fun and memorable. It is truely a quintessential Nintendo game and displays the creativity and uniqeness that Nintendo brings to the gaming industry. Yes, the game can be a bit slow and is not too enjoyable to play for hours at a time. However, for how simply the game is--it is quietly dynamic. Every day brings something new and fun to do. Every week brings a new surprise (like a lost sailor, an art dealer selling potential conterfits, a DJ, and more). Even every month can potentially bring a new surprise with new animals moving into your town, a holiday or a specifical event. Again, this game possess a quiet dynamism coupled with a cheerful art scheme and charming characters and charming activities to partake in. Enjoy.

This is a very enjoyable and fun action game. It is fast paced, intuitive and simply a blast. This game can be played by novices, intermediates and throughly enjoyed by advanced gamers who want to string together complex combos. Reviews, on other websites, that complain about sexual overtones are quite overstating this. The first game is more sexually explicit--however, if you have watched any sort of Hollywood movie then you will have not qualms about it. The characters are a lot of fun, the graphics are crisp and bright, combat is smooth, and is generally a lot of fun. My only problem with this game, which is actually a testiment to how enjoyable it is, is the fact that it is a tad short. Regardless, this is a lovely example of an action game and what Nintendo (and developers like Platnium) can do on the WII U. Enjoy.

I feel terrible giving this game a low score. I very much wanted to like this game. However, the felt quite slow, the art style was a bit too dark at times and the characters were not appealing. I can understand how some players can love this game and I can see the effort and care the developers put into the game. From my perspective, I give it a low score. But, I can see someone playing it and falling in love with it. Enjoy.

This is a very fun and unique game. It is not merely a Dynasty Warriors game with a Zelda skin. It is more so an action Zelda game. Yes, it has mechanics from Dynasty Warriors. However, the charm Zelda games makes this specific game feel fresh and different. I do not really enjoy Dynasty Warriors games, however, because this game has a Zelda flare, I find it to be a great game. Some playable characters are not too fun, like Agitha, but others, like Cia, Lana and Link are great. Just wait until you can conjure up a cube, jump on it and roll it over the villians--fantastic. There has a massive amount of content that will keep you busy and having fun (I would imagine, over 120 hours worth). The graphics are lovely and really displays the Nintendo art style. The sound effects are quite good and the music on various stages are very catchy and add to the mood of the battle. Downsides to the game: again, some playable characters are not that good. However, a majority of them are very unique and absolutely fun to play. DLC is also very good and the new adventure map has some fun and unique levels. Enjoy.

This is a very fun game and has been a real surpise to play. The world is quite large, well massive. The art style and color scheme is very bright and captures the Nintendo feel. The dialouge is fun and lighthearted and you can see a lot of effort was put into localization. What really makes this game shine is the music and sound effects--in short, there is a widely diverse amount of music and sounds, sounds and music that match the bright and joyful motif of the game. The job system is fun and provides the player with a lot of diversity and things to do. I do not have many complaints about the game. Sometimes finding a person to give an item to, after completing a quest, can take a bit of time. Generally, a fun game. A very light and carefree sort of RPG with a mass amount of content. Enjoy!
