Much has already been said. Nintendo believed in their own propaganda they paid for back then in 2017. And this is why this game is what it is. And now, after they bought reviews for TOTK again, Anouma promises more "open world Zelda games". And all this knowing the open world formula was already dead in 2017 and BoTW was just boring walking simulator. Whether you call BOTW or TOTK spinnofs, or DLC, fact is that we still don't have new Zelda since 2012. Therefore let's hope some indie studio will eventually fill this void. After so many years and seeing what they're doing, there is no point waiting for Nintendo. They clearly became clowns. Just let them live their Clown World.

Triangle Strategy

For me this is the biggest disappointment in 2022 (so far). Triangle Strategy is unfortunately nowhere as good as Octopath Traveler... It's just average game. It may be important information for people who were excited about this game due to OT, like myself. I know it's different genre, and I very much like games like Fire Emblem (which I scored 8 or even 9 in case of Three Houses), but it's not the point. Anyway, there has already been told enough about all drawbacks of Triangle Strategy in here, so please refer to other mixed comments which cover them honest in detailed way. I just wanted to warn all people who could possibly hope Triangle Strategy would be of similar quality to Octopath Traveler - there is a big chance you'll be disappointed :( Also, It's a pity to read all these "Very positive" comments with little justification. Not because of the other people opinions. It just makes me sad how much money they put nowadays into marketing and amplifying a product instead of making simply a good one. It makes me really sad, because if developers keep same trajectory in Octopath Traveler 2 one day, this could be disaster... :(

Wow. Now this is a game! This game reminds me Attack on Titan anime in so many aspects: well expanded relationships between characters, astonishing music (strongest point in the game); various plots & twists; superb story involving real politics or strategy. I rarely give high notes for games. But this time it's well deserved 10 out of 10. Sure, this game has some problems - difficulty level called "normal" is way too easy. Some aspects about controlls like moving Byleth in monastery are, well... strange. Especially if you face even little drift in your joycon. Sure, some activities could be developed better, with more heart involved. They feel in generall like being little superficiall. But again, the game should always maintain proper balance. And it is what this game does. I never liked tactical RPGs, but this game is simply great. And I feel now being more interested in the genre. I want more!

Dungeons: 8/10 Bosses: 9/10 Music: 10/10 Surprisingly good working joycons. ... ....Graphics... 2/10 (Switch) and 9/10 (Wii) Yes. That's the point. Frame rate is very good. Game graphics is very sharp, but it doesn't go hand in hand with angular polygons... This really stings the eye. This graphics style designed for this game was clearly for lower resolutions.. And as such, this is where they screwed up. This game should have never been released as "remaster HD" in that state (what sort of remaster is this btw...?) Such games should be either remade or at least tiny effort in terms of remodelling should be put to earn "HD remaster" badge. Just compare Wind Waker HD or Twilight Princess HD from Wii U. Still this title has much to offer (just compare dungeons and story of SS with Breath of The Wild) in terms of superb story and gameplay. So to recap: it's good this game is on Switch for younger audience to taste one of the best Zelda in the series. Shame on Big N for another cash grab they did. The more they act this way, the more they justify homebrew scene.

After 12 hours of gameplay and few bosses defeated, I have to tell that BD2 is solid, but by all means very average JRPG. It may disappoint you if you were counting on the Octopath Traveler quality product. It's not that league, unfortunately. However this game is certainly better and more polished than titles like I am Setsuna or Lost Sphear (i'm comparing only turn based jrpgs). It's clear that developers put a lot of passion to make this title pure JRPG and similar to the old Final Fantasy games, but at the same time tried to make this title as much mainstream and generic as possible. And as you probably know, what tries to please everyone, won't please anyone and end up as bland product. That's what Bravely Default 2 unfortunately became. Only for die-hard JRPG fans. Here is my list of the bigger sins that I have noticed so far in BD2: - idiotic fetch quests & boring gameplay (I've once fall asleep while making one of these quests..) - you're carried by the hand in whatever you do. This results in suppressed immersion by design. So why not creating autoplay? Or simple button "do that game for me"? Oh wait... they actually implemented sailoring where you get items when you turn your Switch in sleep mode - subjectively eclectic and bland music (biggest disappointment to me) - unconvincing voice acting - Elvis. I have no idea what genius made it up to create idea of scholar being complete dork like this guy - main character is as bland as possible. In general it may be hard to like whole party - narrative aspects leave much to be desired And here is a list of cool and good features I liked: + Special monsters + Difficulty level + I liked the graphics and visual style and can't confirm there were framerate issues. Everything is allright in that matter Rest is average and not worth mentioning :(

I love art, music and style. I only see one very big problem here: it's not a game at all. Here we rate the games - hence my poor note. Usually the game has rules or conditions to win. Or a goal, even if it's hidden. This is not the case with GRIS. I still have no idea what those secret circles were for... or even the slightest idea what this game is all about and what for did I press arrows or jumps. You will only witness an electronic poem here. Very obscure one. Maybe the developers wanted to create the game as a "work of art"? Instead, they created a narrative simulator. A Limbo-Journey corssover, but without freedom and substance. Powdered with stylish art to make sure everyone label this game as "art". I understand they wanted to communicate something important for them using this product and therefore as a poem perhaps it could be 7/10.

I wonder if anyone rating >5/10 really played this game to the end. After beating the game, gathering all crowns with ease, using minimum # of boxes (sometimes I used 0 when less than 30 was needed for "3-star". Question to level designers: was I supposed to cheat like that with ease?). For the 99.9% of the game I thought "OMG, this tutorial is really long...". This was actually the very game. Now I can honestly claim that this is one of the easiest and dull logic game ever. I don't even remember if there was ever a game that caused so many yawns during gameplay. I see only one reason to buy this game: If you need to use a toilet to make "#2" this game may be good choice to help you with that.

I really don't understand high notes for this game. The worst for me is that just hi scores motivated me to buy this game. It was mistake. Great music? Maybe I got different version of this game? It's just set of very dull 8bit clicks. It's awful. Please, just compare to Octopath Traveler to see what does it really mean good music in video game before using that term. Truth to be told, if not by music, perhaps it would score 5 or even 6/10. In terms of story it's very immature (in terms of "script", not 18+stuff of course). Not that I have something to this crazy story. It's just constant feeling like if author made all of this without deeper idea. Graphics is OK - given what sort of game it is. The best would be to compare this game to other of the like. Axiom Verge is very good comparison to Cave Story+: also made by one person, also 8bit metroidvania. But Axiom is just far, far, far better in all aspects: story (especially story), gameplay & music. In terms of "metroidvania" Cave Story+ is rather average representative of genre, that didn't live up to my expectations.

Many praise soundtrack for this game. Although in fact it's the weakest point imo. Yeah, I know battle system is controversial here... but at least it is "controversial". Music is on the other hand bland, generic and generally lackluster. For the most time it doesn't even match what's happening on screen. On the other side we have pretty average game full of humor and goofy story. If you're deaf maybe you will like it. Edit: Unfortunately, after spending a lot more time with this game, I have to admit it was a total waste of time. As a result, I have to lower my score from the initial 4/10 to 2/10. The more you progress, the worse, and the only thing that keeps repeating in your head is the thought "this game was written and designed by idiots!" In terms of narrative, the game tries to be initially fun, but ends up being pathetic. OK, I know - it's all forgivable. You say that many stupid decisions were made in this game (not even counting the combat system), but still the game is overall OK. Below overage, but not a total disaster. I could agree for the most time. However, what happens at the end of the game is just overkill. Somewhere later in the story, you have a mandatory "mini-game" (yes, that Shy-guy show), in which after scoring 100 points in fairly easy but wrongly designed challenges (you always know the right answer but rarely have enough time to align the wheels... ), as "the icing on your frustration cake" you have to answer what is the correct word used in the first song in the game (this silly one with dancing trees). A song, that you obviously cannot remember because it passed so much time. And you think, "so what?" - there surelly cannot be any consequences for that. Oh boy, how wrong you are! The thing is, that it's just "game over" if you can't answer correctly. All of sudden - after collecting all toads, all hidden blocks to this point you're rewarded with game over. Just because you don't remember silly song from the beginning. And nobody ever told you to memorize it! Is this the most important aspect of Origami King? Thats what it's all about - silly game about dancing trees! Didn't know that? What a **** At the beginning I thought that maybe it was just random bad decision in this particular moment of this game, or maybe they again wanted to be "that funny". But then I recalled many situations like that in this game.. Nope. This was made all on purpose. You know why? Because apparently they hired bunch of monkeys who had smoked weed while designing this game. And you paid them your hard earned money for that. Don't get me wrong. Game execution is OK - the engineers did good job. It's writers & designers who should be fired here. Don't be stupid like me - do not buy this game. It's neither for children nor for parents. It has no purpose and playing this gives you nothing. It's like B-class movie which was supposed to be and advertiesed as B-class pastishe, but fells flat and ends up with cringe.

It was 9/10 back in 1998 indeed. Game of our childhood one could say. However lets be honest here... I played this game recently on WiiU virtual console to bring back old memories and... Well... in 2020 I can't give it more than 4/10 (not counting graphics!). if you take graphics to account this shouldn't be more than 2/10 game. Even If you remade all visuals and correct many issues this game has, it still wouldn't be that cool as you remember. 9/10 in 1998, 3/10 in 2020.

It's high time to sell PS4 as this game definitely confirmed that the mainstream game industry, which btw had gone in wrong direction long time ago already, is not going to step back at all. Each year games reach new lows. Trajectory has been chosen. Now only Nintendo games left, but if they start to wither.... hey! mid '80s - here we go again!

Its difficult to give a good note for this one. Technically everything is fine. But does it mean it's 10/10 game in 2020? If it was 1993, this could be true. But we are 27 years later... and this is nearly one-to-one remake, so gameplaywise, storywise, dungeonwise... you can't expect anything exciting. Old 2D Zelda - that's what this game is. In this regard, this game is average at best comparing to what we got used since OoT. It's clear Nintendo was trying to make exact clone, but with refurbished graphics. Nothing more, nothing less. So obviously their intention was not to make game like FF7 remake, but rather another "Wind Waker HD" and convert good old game you know to modern standard. And they succeeded! Problem is that in 2020 Link's Awakening is not that good game anymore considering modern competition or even other, newer Zeldas. Strongly recommended if you never played Link's Awakening (it's classic!) or wanted to bring back good old memories of your childhood. Otherwise, you can just pass by. Giving better note than 5/10 would be an insult to later Zeldas.

I'm shocked. How can you give 10/10 for a game that was intended to utilize gamepad, but eventually wasn't? For that very reason 9/10 is max whatever this game may be worth. They shown this feature in 2014 demo so it has clearly been disabled making this game "worse" on purpose. If it had utilized gamepad than what note would you give? 11/10 as it would be even more superb?... Just don't get fooled by these fanboys. This is good and proper game (not that very good) but poor Zelda game. Remember The Legend of Zelda Link to the Past? Now imagine this in 3D, but without dungeons (!!!). Thats exactly what this game is. Overworld walking simulator without dungeons or any intricate stuff. Good walking simulator, but just walking simulator. 7/10 is max honest note for this game.

I've recently decided to play this game on my old Wii again. After so many years this was all fresh and new as I really didn't remember story, quests or solutions. You know what? This was the true Zelda at its peak. Really. This was best Zelda ever. This and maybe Twilight Princess depending whether you lke bigger overworld or not. And these dungeons.. they are just so cool! And bosses? They are just terrific. Maybe little more difficult than other Zeldas, but they make up with design and gimmicks. Absolutely not comparable to modern **** like seen in BoTW. I recall recent fight with ancient automaton - I had goosebumps when I thought he is defeated and instead he suddenly stand and I had to quickly figure out how to defeat him using his giant swords. Music is awesome, story is typical Zelda (like always). Motion controls in general adds cooler reception. Thanks to this, fights with bosses are much deeper and more gimmicky. Which leaves you with "wow, that was awesome" experience. Controls might look chaotic in the beginning if you don't learn how to swing your sword, but when you do, it gives you more fun than without it. But in general you know what? My 6yo boy watching me playing this game is simply captivated. While, in contrary, when I played "Breath of The Wild" he was complaining "why I play this boring game that you only walk endlessly". Small children can easy distinguish what really is a good game and what is just marketing ****. And bribed reviewers won't change it.

However the more you play all this cool stuff blurs away by: 1. too few mechanics and features; 2. eclectic level design; 3. uneven areas combined with frustrating and imprecise controls + unfair level design; 4. very poor graphics (considering to how much space this game needs!!); 5. lack of content and mediocre reuse that leaves a lot to be desired in terms of interest player to go here and there again.

While being far superior than Limbo in terms of technical aspects, Inside has unfortunately nothing else to offer. If I had expect another Limbo, I'd probably want to play something better than predecessor. And since Inside tries (in general) to be Limbo's successor It actually delivers less in this regard. And yes - I get the meaning behind the ending (both secret and regular), but this is simply bull****. That being said, the whole experience gets even more disappointing. If you were to compare this game to Limbo, Inside is just worse game. It's not their fault though. It was difficult task to deliver another new and captivating "Limbo"... having Limbo in their portfolio. I wish this was different game, because Playdead certainly has potential in creating games with "nice atmosphere".

Im sorry but this game was simply a disappointment to me. Difficulty is inconsistent and sometimes very much unfair. Awkward controls and unexpected behavior of Shovel Knight leads to random button bash as the best combat strategy. All of these sub weapons is just waste of time. This is design flaw imo (even if developers did it on purpose to bring back feelings from old NES games, which had exactly similar issues). Apart of this, the game is rather short (which is good... phew) What I really liked in this game was this "knightly ethos" of main character :) Setting and story was also cool. Overall I find nothing special here. Another overrated nostalgia driven title. Actually nostalgia from SNES times is the only "value" I could potentially see here. But do we really want to play retro games like that all the time? Im tired of this. Does indie scene has nothing else to offer but pixels? This game could be recommended only to particular audience or people who want to remind yourself how it was to play games when they were young.

HOB tries to be Zelda-like game that takes place on quite different universe. What I liked here was game aesthetics, interesting world design and way the story is being told. However storywise I had the impression that there is something missing here. I don't know what exactly, wheter it's no emotional attachment to "issues of this world". Maybe too generic approach or something else? I also didn't like the way this story ends. In game like these you shouldnt allow players to "choose" the ending. I know its fashionable nowadays, but this simply doesn't suit and make sense here. Considering so many "good" things you had to do to get into final lair I really don't see the reason choosing side of "baddies". There is something artificial here. There is nothing bad in games being linear. In terms of gameplay and game design you can clearly see few shortcomings: controls lack polishing, few glitches, framerate issues or no real reward in finding secrets. Combat aspect also is disappointing in many ways. Recap: It's this type of game that you like in the beginning, but offers you nothing more the more you progress. You just want to explore and open all areas. That's all unfortunately. In this sense it is really more similar to Zelda BoTW rather than good old Zeldas with intricate dungeons. It's not masterpiece, but still good game worth spending several hours with. Especially if you expect more exploration rather than adventure.

Imagine "Link to the past" overworld without dungeons moved to modern 3D aesthetics. That's exactly this game. Good exploration game, poor in terms of being Zelda game. "Forget all you know about Zelda game..." - I thought that was just marketing. Oh boy... No, they were just honest with us. And all these 10/10... Really? How can you give 10/10 score to a game that was intended to have mini map on gamepad, but eventually had this feature disabled on the release (remember 2014 wii u demo? Just compare). Meaning automatically that current BoTW cannot be perfect right now, because we have seen better "more perfectish" BoTW with minimap on youtube! Logic? Who cares. Right, "Big N" will sell anything with right marketing. In my opinion Zelda has gone simply in wrong direction. With BoTW, our good old Zelda just made transition to another polished corporate product without soul. That's prolly what modern consumer expects, but not necessarily Zelda fan. All what made this game so unique was lost with this release "like tears on the rain". 7/10 is a real score here.

In few words Rime is like Ico & Journey hybrid with more emphasis on the latter. Hence if you liked these great games, you should not be dissapointed with Rime. Music is astonishing, visuals too. Gameplay is nice and entertaining, however my only "plea" would be that finding any secret areas gives you absolutely no reward. This could be better solved. As well as character control. In terms of technical aspects that so many complain on Switch. I played on patched version and gameplay was rather smooth, however in some areas there were still slight framerate issues. But by all means it didn't affect any gameplay experience! Still found one bug pushing me to revert to last save though (character fell into the hole in rainy area somewhere by the endgame). Most of the time I had the feeling this game tries to be very emotional, but it fells flat on that matter. Like if they tried to create spiritual successor to Ico. But player quickly notices something here is pushed too hard. Where friendship was natural in Ico, here in Rime feels quite "artificial". Maybe instead of "fake friendship" with fox or robot, more pressure should be made on ancient tech or place? Rime had so much potential in scope of mystery, which wasn't completely utilized at all! Don't get me wrong. Rime is really good game, but in terms of feelings/story it has absolutely no start to Ico, hence I see here more similarities rather to Journey. An I think Rime deserved for more. Just my subjective personal opinion.

Simply one of the best game I've played on Wii U. While playing Freedom Planet you will constantly feel this rare feeling of reminiscent gameplay when you were kid. Every aspect suits here: gameplay is great, music is great.. even characters are cool and story is fun. Stages are quite lengthy.... and don't expect to gather all stuff at once. It's also little difficult sometime (bosses), but I love it - this is just it! Freedom Planet is just this sort of game that doesn't insult player treating him as a dumb statistical consumer. It demands and rewards. This is how games were when we were kids back in early 90s and words can't describe the general positive feeling while playing this game. I liked early Sonic games, but was never big follower of it's gameplay. And I don't know how it's possible but Freedom Planet is far better than sonic. This game is like combination of "truncated" Limbo and "truncated" Botanicula. Quite cool platformer with easy but interesting puzzles. Makes an impression of relaxing at first, but later I found that something is not right here, like if something didn't suit well the gameplay - the music. Kind of ambient, but too heavy and overwhelming comparing to what happens on the screen. On the other hand it suits well the story.. And since we mention story - please take really serious ratings for this game. This is REALLY not the game for small children. So don't be fooled by "little cute and nice creature" unless you want to risk difficult conversation with your 4yo kid about LGBT agenda. And belive me small kids DO really ask about anything they see even if they don't play. This game is an example of how evil things may be smuggled in nice cover. I didn't expect this as a parent and feel now little deceived. There is nothing wrong with heavy topics for adults, but why this "childish" form?
