far from perfect in terms of wrapping things up but if you keep your expectation in check, it's a solid outing in the franchise

i didn’t expect final fantasy tactics to stick with me the way it did, but it really got under my skin in the best way. at first, it felt a little slow and overwhelming, especially with all the menus and systems, but once everything clicked, it became incredibly satisfying. the job system is easily my favorite part being able to mix and match abilities and slowly build your characters into something unique made every battle feel personal. the story surprised me too. it’s much darker and more political than i was expecting, and it doesn’t really hold your hand. i found myself getting invested in the characters and the world, even when things got confusing. there’s a kind of heaviness to it that makes the victories feel earned, not just handed to you. gameplay-wise, it can be brutal at times. some fights felt straight-up unfair until i adjusted my strategy, but that challenge is part of what made it rewarding. positioning, planning ahead, and understanding your team really matters here you can’t just rush in and hope for the best. overall, it’s one of those games that demands patience but pays it back tenfold. it’s not perfect, and it can definitely feel dated in some ways, but there’s a depth and charm to it that kept me hooked long after i thought i’d be done with it

if you play sh for subtlety, psychological horror, the world, the tone, designs, or lets be real, anything other than mist, then you want to avoid shf, it too often mistakes tossing random speculation bait that goes nowhere and blocking off information until ng+ for no legit reason to be depth and nuance, the worst part is it's not even fun
