I was able to get the complete download from Amazon for a very reasonable cost, as soon as I logged in I was instantly hooked! This game is a great way to spend a few hours or less, having a virtual world to explore by your self makes you appreciate all the detail that went into the game design. Controls are a little different than online MMORGs but easy to manage. I expect that I will keep this and Oblivion for as long as i am able to. I gave the game less than a 10 due to the "Steam" factor, I would prefer a stand alone deal. I initially got the disk and was forced to download ALL the content anyway, a time consuming process I had hoped to avoid....I am liking Steam more now but resented being forced to use their service to play the game.

If you were lucky enough to actually play this online, it had a certain feel that really interested the players. It was not up for long but while it lasted it was pretty fun. The game was also available as a stand alone version and is getting difficult to locate, make sure you get all 3 discs to have all the material and to patch them. The single disc version is ok but i expect that having the full set is best! PoQ joined other games that went off line for USA players like Elemental Saga and Legend of Mir. Top down view is coming back into style again and the nostalgic experience of playing in a group is still in my memory. =) For anyone reading this and thinking that it was a fun experience, you are right. I went on to play many "High tech online games" and miss few of them. Perhaps the Asian style architecture was one of the coolest parts of the game world?

The game is very retro, 3 d isometric. I played it online years ago and the stand alone mode is also fun. I would not compare it to modern games as far as depth goes but this is an overlooked and under rated classic! It will be in my collection for some time along with more popular games. It reminds me a bit of the Dungeon Siege series but predates them.
