Best thing about this movie is the heroes are likable. Does it have a preposterous plot, yes. Does it have some silly dialogue sequences, yes. Is it the most creative story, no. But Superman is portrayed a good guy, just trying his best to do the right thing. That wrapped up in a pretty fun and enjoyable watch is pretty much all we ask from a movie like this. Well done : )

DP fans will get some good laughs from the jokes. Otherwise, this is a crass retread (even by Marvel standards) which felt more like a Dead Pool stand-up routine than a movie. Surely, the producers saved a lot on writing, as every 4th word is f*ck and every other joke is about **** & @ss. As artists, they surely don't care about being offensive (especially to young Marvel fans exposed to this trash) but they should care about being BORING!

Let me begin by giving movie creators the benefit of the doubt in that all this slavish devotion to progressive orthodoxy is really the only way to garner high praise from movie critics these days? This movie is watchable and generally well acted by enjoyable actors executing reasonable direction. That's why I gave it a 4 (+1 for sympathy). However, the predictable, seen that, stereotypical plot/dialogue is difficult to stomach...after it's been processed at the woke-think sausage factory. The biggest knee slapper in all this is that Hollywood originally did much to push many of the very same stereotypes they now virtue signal tirelessly against.

Who would ever suspect the plot would be the hardest thing to buy in a movie about light speed interstellar travel, planet exploding laser beams and telekinetic warrior monks? As most, I grew up a HUGE fan of the original movies. The "prequels" were hard enough to watch. Was hoping the "sequels" brought some of the magic back? If it weren't for the baked visceral audience response to the Star Wars music, X-wing fighter woosh and light saber battles, this movie wouldn't have much. Sad to admit...I hope it's over.

3/10 only bc movie featured lots of cool "stuff" from the era. Otherwise, meandering nonsense as a prelude to the typical Tarantino movie ending cartoonish violence. The only reason to watch this movie is to verify your suspicion of the director's derangement.

Ok, so this is a modern take on the RomCom. Similar formula in terms of plot, with some feminism, heavy swearing, crass sex **** still the happy ending. Overall Seth's and Charlize's characters were charming and "somewhat" believable as lovers. ; ). In addition, as the backdrop to the story was politics, there was FINALLY a positive characterization of a Republican in this movie! Is Hollywood finally listening? Won't say who, but it was pretty great. Hope you all enjoy it.

Regarding the nitty gritty details, such as lighting, editing and subtitles in individual acting **** can leave those to the academy and film critics. I've learned that a good movie will captivate your attention for the full duration and leave you haunted for a while. For me, this version of A Star is Born is one of those movies. It ain't a pick me up sort of movie. Was really impressed with both Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga's characters. Not sure what other were talking **** score was very well done. Coming from someone not into musicals. This one is a keeper. Will be remembered as a touching and powerful movie for some time.

Please don't bother wasting your time or money on this lousy movie. The only thing provocative or interesting is the title. And, spoiler alert, yet some more cheap shots against "conservatives". Seriously, it's stylish crap.

I'll admit I didn't particularly like this move. It felt choppy with production some spotty quality at points - although most times it was good. The principle actors put in fine performances - which is a testament to direction. The dialog was pretty typical. Still can't get over the un-menacing do-rag'd appearance of the ultimate enemy constantly disappearing into the dusty background. Overall, I think it's worth a look though. It had a lot of patriotic themes, but by no means does it glorify war or killing. Many of the characters are conflicted over their actions. Having said that, all this nasty guttersnipe directed at the memory of Chris Kyle is ****. And kudos to Mr. Eastwood for having the courage to make a move which honestly portrays some of the aftermath our soldiers deal with. You can be liberal and/or anti-war but still respect the service and sacrifice of our brave men and women!

Maybe because I was such a fan of the X-men as a kid, that a couple of the first bunch of X-men related movies entertained me. I thought the first one was pretty well made, but as is usually the case, the ensuing sequels and spinoffs were all down hill from there. Talk about a comic book movie taking itself so seriously! So much brooding, despair, hopelessness and misery in this one! Some more mutants who's powers seem to be mostly just looking weird? Evolved? This movie is worth the look for the 15 - 20% of the footage centered around action sequences and some new mutant power show offs. Take that away and it is your basic soulless blockbuster series annuity. Especially for the ****'s of them came back to life to collect residual income promised to them in Xmen;Days of past contract shortfalls. I was actually hoping the sentinels finished off all the mutants for **** spare homo sapiens another movie! Fell asleep for a short portion, so I can't be sure, but it seemed like the sentinels delivered some of the most compelling lines of the whole script.

I'm old enough to remember the dawn of good sci-fi movies...when technology caught up to make otherworldly scenes not appear so ridiculous amidst good story lines and interesting characters. Fast forward to present day, when technology makes even the ludicrous appear real, yet somehow we get dialogue written by high schoolers for grade schoolers narrating a plot that has been retreated so many damn times I'm surprised congress hasn't enacted a law against it. If it weren't for the pre-existing weirdos from the Marvel Universe this movie script would be sitting on some producer's desk hoping to make the cut for the SciFi channel. Here's what you get - a few somewhat entertaining moments (most of which have been released in the trailers) and the slightest bit of suspense as to what nonsense will be used to bridge the next gaping hole in the plot. **** you get to watch what powers these uncharacteristic heroes can use. Can you tell I'm peeved?! Mostly because I waited to watch one of these summer blockbusters with a pretty good Metacritic **** of good that did. This move has very few redeeming qualities. Dumb ass lines, same old same old plot and day time soap opera like emotional autism. It holds your attention much like a three ring circus with a bunch of fools, jugglers and lion tamers would. But I'm afraid to say it has far less density.

Spoiler alert: quite intentional that Scarlett Johansson would be cast as the otherworldly predator sent to capture human men. She is such a stunning example of the human female form, that there would be no need for extraterrestrial powers. Her naked body (displayed at length in the movie) is all that's necessary to get the average heterosexual male to follow her anywhere. : ) Now on to the review. For those who are fans of the Faber novel - on which this movie is based - don't expect to know what in the hell the book is all about. I had to look up the Cliff notes. The movie is a stylistic, art house, abstract adaptation of the book. Sort of like a trip to the MoMA rather than the Met. Is you're in the ****'ll enjoy it. It's well acted, well written and generally well put together. Thought provoking, powerful imagery are the strongest points of the movie. Overall, a memorable piece of film worth watching.

For the life of me I can understand why this movie got such a high average rating. But as with most customer **** bad ones tend to be more revealing. The movie starts off in a very intriguing manner but quickly becomes mediocre once the dialogue picks up. Most of the supporting cast simply can not deliver lines or emotion convincingly - whether the talent is lacking in the actors, casting personnel or director is up for debate. Even the main character leaves you feeling like he doesn't fit in well. The story plot has been done and redone so many times it's too numerous to count. Nothing good or new to see here...skip this one.
