The show has gotten better with every season, but I think if you didn't follow the story closely, there are a lot of characters and it can make it difficult to gauge the significance of some of the incidents shown. Also, as the final season progresses, I think the producers are doing a pretty good job of building up to a climax but still keeping us guessing as to what will happen in the end. Hopefully the series finale will not be something like Dexter!
