Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse10
Jun 2, 2023
Definitely not your typical Spider-Man movie "Superhero Movie", "Comic Book Movie", "Spider-Man Movie".
when you hear this the only picture might come to your mind is A STORY ABOUT THE HERO WHO IS GONNA KICK THE VILLAIN'S ASS BY THE END. let me tell you, going to this movie throw all those expectations out. Actually all those labels I mentioned earlier apply to this film, in the most hardcore fashion you can imagine, and way more. It is the best in all those categories in every possible way and also elevates itself to something even more moving, more interesting and more compelling. By the time you get to the third act it gets dark, dramatic, suspenseful, mysterious, nervous and full of twists and turns in a very The-Silence-of-the-Lambs way. And I think might be a bit hard for kids to digest. The stakes are way higher that makes the first film INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE tonally naive compared to this. And don't get me started on the animation. the richest and the most glamorous you have ever witnessed, I bet. and certainly can not be topped by anyone but these filmmakers themselves. The different styles of animation is not meant to show off (at least not primarily) but to reflect the emotions and the story every time. You will have to go through it frame by frame to absorb all the beauty and the details put in it. also the music by genius Daniel Pemberton elevates it to the highest level. There should be a campaign promoting this film to hopefully get various Oscar nominations (beside the best animated feature, which will win undoubtedly. RIP other nominees); like best picture, best adopted screenplay and best score. Anyway, this is the ultimate film, hands down. besides a few fan service-y parts, which for me held the movie back at some points (but I can forget about them), everything else hits hard in this film. I hope there were more filmmakers like Lord and Miller working today, and I hope Disney and Pixar take ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE as the punch in the balls they deserved so they progress and make good movies again. If the third part BEYOND THE SPIDER-VESRE is as good and surprising as this, then ladies and gentlemen we will have one of the greatest trilogies of all time. Don't hesitate to watch, as the director Justin K. Thompson puts it, THE MOST EXPENSIVE INDEPENDENT ART-HOUSE MOVIE OF ALL TIME.

I think people and critics are being cruel to this movie. certainly had some flaws like being rushed at points and some parts being a bit lazily written, but generally it was great and loved this Raimi gothic macabre take on marvel movies, it can later develop its own cult following. i give it a 10 because everyone else are giving unexpectedly lower ratings than it deserves.

I can't believe this is a "Pixar" movie, the animation super company that made my childhood and never disappointed me. I never thought one day i would say this but unfortunately today is the day: Pixar made a "garbage" movie!
The animation style and graphics can't compare to the achievement of their latest efforts like "Soul" etc. It looks a 2nd-rate Asian animated movie that Netflix would only give them a chance and broadcast it.
The story and characters are very forgettable, unoriginal and uninspired and these adjectives are unlike anything Pixar normally is.
How on earth did they come from Woody and WALL.E to this annoying girl? How the hell their challenging and breaking-you-down-in-tears stories become so average and predictable? Well I might have an answer: the only thing Hollywood matters in recent years is being politically correct, respectful to the movements, Hashtags etc. and in one word "Woke". Just watch it and you will find out what I mean, or don't waste your time and go see Toy Story again.

Farhadi, as usual, is in his familiar territory playing with familiar themes and familiar characters. The movie has its intricate moments but it works better as good statement or protest, rather than good cinema. Amir Jadidi's performance as the lead stands out, though.

While watching the movie I had multiple orgasm (mentally, spiritually, physically, sexually and ...). Thank you Marvel, Sony, Disney, Kevin Feige and all the cast and crew.
They made thing come true that I would only see in my dreams a couple of years ago.

Edgar Wright has raised the bars so high with his previous movies that this one seems somehow a letdown. it's still a good horror movie and at least it comes from someone who actually knows something about cinema but I hoped for something closer to the mood of its first trailer, and something way more unique.

It's funny to see even critics are ignoring this and I think they are the only ones who spend their time watching this (because they get paid for it). Camila Cabello as Cinderella is an insult to the classic, let alone that fairy grandmother character!

boring and bland in every aspect of the film, no innovation or creativity is presented in the film. don't waste your time for this film, or any of this director.

In Fabric6

"In Fabric" is inaccessible in a lot of ways. I have respect for Peter Strickland and he has proven previously that he is a visual and talented filmmaker, but this film never attracts you whether in story or characters and the way the story is executed never really makes you interested to follow and grabs you. it is also one of the only films with fully uncharismatic cast.

The Lighthouse10
Oct 24, 2019
Why people don't go watch the lighthouse?? watch joker, watch avengers but don't forget what cinema is really about. original filmmakers like Robert Eggars must be supported and It's really disappointing to see one day none of true cinema artists don't sell and might struggle for finances for their films. unfortunately my country is under sanctions but if we weren't, I would have watch this in theater the very first day it was released.

The Double Life of Veronique2
Nov 6, 2018
This should have been a short film. It was too long for 98 minutes and had many extra lengthy sequences that I can't remember how many times I fast forward! I don't recommend it 'cause not only it's boring, it doesn't have any special purpose.

I feel this movie is under rated. the plot seems to be so naive and childish, but deeply it seeks important subjects which have not been mentioned in many movies. I extremely recommend this.

To Kill a Mockingbird6
Mar 14, 2018
This movie has been made in a high quality but not for today, for its time. we have more progressed & brighter minds in 21st century & we will never see movies, songs or any social platforms implying issues like the one in this film, this way; we've got more insight about it now. So I found it expired, too direct & boring as a consequence.
