Tales of Monkey Island8

It's a very good installment, with great story and pretty well executed art and gameplay. The less stylized 3D graphics do feel a bit old, but not too detracting from the silly story.

It's a bit boring, repetitive and not really fun to play. Of course it tries to be very meta, artsy and smart - and largely it succeeds. But at least to me it felt like trying to prove something rather than true enjoyable experience.

Yes, on Switch 2 there are some technical imperfections, little bugs, frame rate drops and it could use some extra polish. Also in handheld it works and looks fine, but because of the amazing art style it was the first time I intentionally played as much in docked as possible. In the end it all didn't matter, because simply the story and game are so immersive. Compared to other titles that nowadays often tell very basic or primitive stories, this is one of the most impressive and rich storytelling experiences available. Amazing narrative, amazing characters, great music, great art style and a drive for truth can be felt throughout. It is refreshing to just see a great story with no maleficent agenda or the creators trying to prove they are smarter than their audiences. It loses one point for slightly too repetitive gameplay elements that are clearly the weakest points - at times it feels like the fighting or climbing is not fun in itself but a duty to deserve more story pieces.

Almost perfect. Clearly inspired by Buzz and not too far from it qualitywise, perhaps even better in some regards. A lot of questions, a lot of variety and nice execution overall. Graphics and music are very pleasant, but there could be something extra to them, there is nothing spectacular about either, it lacks something that could differentiate it. Also ideally it could have been a bit more customizable with more game modes and game length options. Since you make player profiles, it is a shame there are no rankings and stats available for viewing. Still very solid and in absence of Buzz and Knowledge is Power I very strongly hope the game/series receives further updates and installments.

Creative use of space and camera work - some really inspiring mechanics. But the overall story and theme execution feels unfortunately a bit forgettable.

For me an unachievable ideal of a video game and storytelling. Awesome humor, art style and characters.

Easily one of the best video games I have ever played. It is thematic and creative. It is innovative with it's core gameplay. The 4th wall breaking is a bit cliche nowadays, yet here it felt right. The only complaint I can think of is that (without going into detail to avoid spoilers) some of the cutscenes, especially the ones "outside", might be more polished. But for its budget and scope this might be simply being nitpicky as what you get serves it's purpose and feels easily like more than you paid for.
