I never played the original, but this seems like a game that hasn't aged well. I'm guessing the good ratings are mostly based on nostalgia. Or maybe the game is good at what it sets out to do and I just don't get it. Makes me motion sick.

Going in, I expected mid-tier mobile game quality at best. Ended up really loving this game (graphics, gameplay, all of it) until I hit a crazy difficulty spike around 12 tracks in and started to notice how cheap and unfair the AI is. Bummer.

UNBELIEVABLY awful voiceover robot butler talks in between levels at disproportionately loud volume and sounds incredibly distorted (like as though the source sound files are trash). Also, bad difficulty spike that made it unfun for me and my son. Otherwise, cool graphics, music, and overall gameplay. Really wanted to like it.

Killer style and graphics, good vibe, decent controls. And it's all ruined by an insane difficulty spike way too early in the game (like level 4 or something). Maybe I'm just not that good. Bummer there's not a true honest "easy" mode as I'd love to play through this and also do 2 player with my kid.

Get's a little repetitive, but great game overall. It's no Streets of Rage 4 or TMNT Shredder's Revenge, but it's a fun solid couch co-op beat 'em up. Especially recommend if you have kids.

Nope! Graphics are fine, but so many modern features and accessibility features missing. also, no d-pad control and there's this weird thing where the entire screen fades into greyscale if you drift off the main track. this is intentional (a "feature" not a bug). it's super annoying and can't be turned off.

LOVE this game! Never played the original/had never heard of it. Platypus Reclayed hits it out of the park. Great music. Great vibe. Absolutely amazing art style!!! And even if it didn't have any of that, the gameplay is just straight up solid and fun. Stands on its own as a great shoot 'em up. 2 player co-op is great. my wife and kids love it too. Also, they recently released a killer expansion pack DLC with 2 new **** FREE! WHAT?!?! I would've paid $10 for it. So wonderful of the developers. Huge fan.

Loved it for what it is. Never expected it to be near the quality of brilliant Sokoban games like A Monster's Expedition or Patrick's Parabox, but for the couple dollars I spent (like $2 or $5, can't remember), this game was great. Really good puzzles. Appropriately challenging, but doable. Highly recommend for Sokoban fans who are just looking for more puzzles to scratch that itch.

I wasn't expecting anything near the quality of Sokoban brilliance like A Monster's Expedition or Patrick's Parabox, but this game is just not great. Can't quite put my finger on what's missing. Feels boring. No reason to continue.

Absolutely phenomenal. One of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. I'm not exaggerating. If you like puzzle games, and especially if you like Sokoban style puzzle games, this is a must buy.

Terrible. Feels like cheap mobile game. Nintendo Life gave it a 7/10 (not posted on Meteoritic oddly) so I figured I'd take the risk when it was on sale. but WHAT?!?! it's terrible. so glad I'm only out $2

Love the style and vibe. Unfortunately, that's it. NO d-pad controls! bad AI rubber banding. and 2 things that make it so I can't play it with my kids: 1) NO option to turn off the CPU racers in multiplayer 2) NO option to turn off checkpoints/countdown timer.

MARVEL Cosmic Invasion9
Mar 16, 2026
Going in, I was excited knowing it's the same developer as TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, but I also thought it was unlikely to be quite as good (Shredder's Revenge was simply flawless). So given my expectations, I'm absolutely thrilled with this game. My 3yr and 7yr old kids love it too. It's just all around great couch co-op beat 'em bliss. The character swapping/tag-team mechanic works well and my kids love that they get to choose 2 characters to use (great large roster too!). I honestly think if Shredder's Revenge didn't exist, Cosmic Invasion would be more highly reviewed. Also, for what it's worth, I am NOT a hardcore classic beat 'em up fan. I don't like how slow the typical game in this genre feels. I only recently realized Shredder's Revenge is an outlier in that the characters move quickly and you have the option to run. Marvel Cosmic Invasion feels very similar - so I really love it!! I'm not even into Marvel characters all that much. I just love the feel and gameplay. Lastly, the game runs GREAT on Switch 1 and Switch 2. I chose to get the Switch 1 version so I could play it on my OLED in addition to our docked family Switch 2.

This game is fantastic! Runs great on Switch 1 and Switch 2. Seems like stable 30 fps. I thought the game might be too challenging for my son (7), but with a few accessibility settings tweaks it's perfect. We're having so much fun. Also playing online with my brother who lives 2,000 miles away. Very smooth. Haven't experienced any lag. And for anyone wondering, this game is not at all like Splatoon (other than some surface style elements). It's a unique puzzle platformer that is built around co-op. HIGHLY recommend!
